This place is massive. By the way it is laid out. I'm starting to finish. You can walk this in a couple of hours and see everything we spent about two hours there and one thing I liked about it is when you're walking through the facility you can transition very easily to the next thing. For example, we were walking through the orangutans and was able to get into the gorilla enclosure very easily then from there to the Safari area was just a few feet away. Nothing was so far out that you kinda got tired of walking. Inside the desert, do you start off on the ground floor and naturally go to the third desert at the very top and walk out of the exit which was very cool this whole place is built with excellent excellence The aquarium has an amazing penguin exhibit that we really liked and spent quite a bit of time there watching the penguins There was a lot of zoo, workers present, helping people get directions making sure that everyone was doing OK the whole time my family and I definitely have plans to go back Be aware that it is about $30-$40 per adult. On another note, just when I thought that customer service was dead city-wide, my faith in humanity was restored by the young man who rang me out. He was personable and efficient and offered to carry my bags of dog food to my vehicle at the end of the transaction. With my bad knee, it was much appreciated. Our dog is very fearful at the vet, and Dr. Emily handles him with so much patience and intention. She actually sits down on the floor with him to help him feel safe, which says a lot about how she approaches care. It never feels rushed or clinical in a cold way -- it feels thoughtful. I also really appreciate the small details, like writing each animal's name on the check-in board. It's such a simple touch, but it makes the whole visit feel more personal. Pricing has been about average compared to other clinics in the area, and scheduling appointments is usually straightforward and easy. If you have an anxious pet and want a team that takes the time to make them comfortable, this is a great place to consider.

I'm really sad that I have to write this review. I've taken my dog to Lone Tree for about a year…read morenow and they had always been great. I don't know what changed, but about a month ago my dog started having some issues and they offered to send me estimates for different options for him. I never received these estimates. I reached out asked them for these estimates 6 total times over call, text and even in person and never received them. In the meantime my dog's condition has significantly gotten worse- which I had repeatedly told them when asking for the estimates. Fast forward to now, i've called them several times to ask for the estimate, and now to get his records so I can take him to a different vet. They won't answer any of my phone calls. I left a voicemail asking for his records and explaining that I am going to have to take him to a new vet because of their lack of communication. They finally sent me his records, but didn't acknowledge anything I had said in the voicemail. I honestly have no idea what I did to deserve them essentially ghosting me, but I am so so disappointed because I really did like them as my vet.

Why on Earth would I want to adopt another animal from this facility given the gross negligence? What respectable animal shelter doesn't confirm/test for these kinds of issues prior to putting an animal up for adoption? I'd also like to add that the front desk staff (the welcome desk, not the folks in the back - they are very friendly) are incredibly rude. Consistently every time I've come in here, the social skills and public service has been horrific. I will no longer be adopting pets from this facility. They set the animals up for failure.

The NHS offers amazing training classes for all dogs at all levels. We are currently doing the…read moretraining for K9 good citizen certification, the class was a fair price and the teachers are amazing with the dogs, so knowledgeable and friendly! We also recently adopted a dog, the process was easy, the adoption counselors were easy to talk to and took the right steps for the introduction of our resident dogs and the new one. We received a collar and leash, food, all vet records, and information for any problems with behaviors or heath. I want to add that the shelter does a good job of providing enrichment and support for the animals. They make sure to have as many dogs and cats in the individual, quiet kennels as possible, which really helps them relax. The NHS is also a partner with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a sanctuary located in Kanab, UT and whose main goal is to help the USA become NO kill. This is HUGE for Omaha!!

I figured I'd try again, this time 6 weeks later..no lapse in time, we were early coming in for the visit so we had to come back in 20 min big inconvenience, we did and then they weren't ready for the appointment, the groomer seemed frustrated and my dogs must've felt it cause they wouldn't go with her, never been a problem when going to the groomers, I asked her if this was a good time if not we could rebook. She went on to say she's been having a rough day, but it was ok. I left them said she's call when they were ready we'll I dropped them off at 2:30 and it was now 6 so I went over there the clerk said she was having issues because of how the day was going and could I come back in 40 minutes which was closing time. I sadi ok. When I came back in was 5 min to close and my animals weren't ready yet. They brought out 2 dogs which had on the wrong harnest, I waited another 15 mins for them to bring out my other dogs, they were ready to go and it was closing time. So I left, I live in apartments very close, 5 mins maybe. When I walked in my apartment my dog i waited for the longest was limping and there was blood drops everywhere on the floor and furniture. I picked her up to see where it was coming from, it was her toe, half of her toe was clipped and bleeding, this has never happened to any of my animals. I called back over to see what happened and why they hadn't made me aware? The clerk proceeded to argue with me and everything short of calling me a liar. Then said it happened because my dogs toenails were too long, they just groomed her 6 weeks prior no long lapse in grooming. All along while I waited for them they had to try to get the bleeding under control before giving her to me. She then proceeded to tell me I can come back over and buy some medication for the bleeding they caused! I asked when the owner would be in, she proceeded to say the owner only comes in for 15 30 maybe an hour at a time and staff never knows she can try to pass a message. I will be filing a small claims case for emotional distress and return of funds for the service and vet bills. Please DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE​
