Their shoppers and selections always save me before birthdays then holidays. Lesley will put together a bag and scarf combo that's perfect. Or summer sandals that say party on the beach. She and her family buy out leftovers from some great stores and if you pay over $100 for any one of their designer finds I'd be shocked. I just bought three winter coats for nieces and two from some hi end German designer I never would've heard of. Or afforded. Going back to ship her night hours for something nice for daughter and mom. Sometimes I just give her dollar amount, number of gals and sizes and voila, shopping done. Can I praise this shop anymore?

I bought those cute Michael Kors boots at Intermix, yeah, I thought I deserved a treat. Me who NEVER shops retail. Ok, so they where $240 and at George's they where 40 bucks..., yeah ok it's past season, they are still in style. It's a tiny place, the owners are cool, down to earth. Kate Spade, some coolSpanish designers, Kors, Rossi, earth shoes etc etc. I am actually going there right now, and I better not see you there, because if you find the size 9 boots I have been dreaming of I will fight you to the end for it! ps. I am not joking.

These employees are very unprofessional and very uninterested in doing there job. This store has an enormous selection of hats for men and women. They have Panama hats and fedora's and bowler to top hats. They also have a great selection for women. The people are wonderful. They take hats very seriously but in a very fun way. I was looking at a Panama and Jessen suggested a hat that was sturdier and it was a lot less money. He measured my head and they have this machine that helps to mold the hat to your head. The energy is great. A young mom went into the store with her 4 year old daughter they let her try on hats and she walkede the floor like she was on the runway. They also sell jewelry ties and other treasures. I have never had so much fun buying clothes.

I visited the Jamaica Plain shop today with my brother, on what happened to be the 27th anniversary of my father's passing. What could have been a heavy, emotional day was transformed into something unexpectedly meaningful, thanks in large part to the experience I had with Jessen. He spent well over an hour with me, patiently walking through countless combinations of styles, shapes, and colors -- not rushing, not upselling, just exploring what really worked. He was thoughtful, kind, and extraordinarily knowledgeable, and it was clear he genuinely enjoyed the process of helping me find the right hat. That enthusiasm was contagious; time absolutely flew by. I left with a beautiful hat and a matching scarf, each with its own story -- down to where the wool came from and how it was made. That level of care and passion isn't something you can fake. It's obvious that Jessen and Andria care deeply about their craft, their customers, and the experience they create in the shop. This was, without question, the best experience I've ever had in a hat store. The selection is fantastic, but it's the heart, expertise, and hospitality that make Salmagundi truly special. If you're anywhere near Boston and even thinking about a hat, do yourself a favor and go see Andria and Jessen. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

When we went in, both staff members were friendly and super helpful. They let us know there was more downstairs, didn't even realize there was a downstairs! I picked out a great top and pants for my husband and he picked out a cute dress with jean jacket for me. The clothes were weather appropriate but there are also options for cold weather in various spots because it was still getting cold at night in Boston. The probably best part was all the art that was available from independent artists. I got so many stickers and posters to gift and hang in my house. Cat tarot cards are great and I'm so happy we stopped in here because the vibe was 10000% better for us than other thrift shops. I also got book earrings, an elephant bracelet, and another pair of earrings. . The prices are reasonable and there's some great things in there even from the 90s.
