If you are serious about becoming a better golfer, then you should consider working with PGA…read moreProfessional, Jesus "Chuy" Ojeda. In my case, I had a fairly low handicap (3.4) and was preparing to play for a SCGA tournament. On my own, I was unable to figure out how to become a scratch golfer. I had come to accept that without expert instruction, I would not acquire the skills & understanding required to achieve my golf goals. Chuy is committed to making his students well-rounded players. Most local PGA professionals are restricted to teaching "mat lessons" (swing only) and charge extra for "playing lessons" out on the course. The facilities at Chula Vista Muni allow Chuy to readily teach you whatever area of the game you want to work on...full swing, chipping, pitching, sand shots, putting, course strategy, analyzing lies, and mental focus. In other words, Chuy can teach you ALL of the essential skills necessary to become a COMPLETE golfer (not just someone with a good swing!) I have been playing golf for nearly 20 years and I can honestly say that I walk away from each lesson very inspired to practice and improve. Chuy is one of those rare golfers who is a skilled instructor AND still competes in professional tournaments (he is one of the SDs top-ranked playing pros). He has a special ability to convey complex concepts with simple words and helpful drills. Perhaps most importantly, he has taught me to understand & correct the mechanical and mental patterns that cause me to hit inconsistent shots. This has made me much better at making quick corrections mid-round. Lastly, I would encourage you to compare Chuy's rates to other local instructors. Then you'll really understand what a good value his lessons are. I made the decision to start taking lessons with Chuy about 4 months ago and my handicap has dropped down to 1.6. I have every reason to believe that my handicap will continue to drop. Thanks to Chuy, I am a more competent and confident golfer. This makes this illusive game a lot more fun and way less frustrating.

He's able to get extremely technical about the golf swing or he can break it down in simple terms. The ability to flex his teaching style is very instrumental in his success as an instructor. He talks about how the swing should feel when he's making adjustments and that has been great for me. I highly recommend him to anyone of any skill level. After working with him for few months, i entered my first tournament. I won by shooting an Even par 72. He produces results!!!

They do sell snacks and they also sell any golf supplies that you need in the shack. The staff is super customer service oriented and they're very very kind. We had to use the bays in the sun for about an hour until some bays in the shade came up it would be nice if they could extend the shade over the four or five base that don't have it at the end. The issue that I had while I was there was that there are 1 million red ants that crawl on you and bite in the areas where there is no shade. Please be mindful if you're bringing your children because they will crawl on your children and bite them. Also be mindful if you have food and snacks because the Answer attracted to that as well. It was a nice time to spend with my husband while we hit golf balls at this driving range. We are planning to possibly become members just so that we can have a good time overall there's no fluff in this experience at the driving range base, but if you want to go to the other side where it's all outdoor without bases that's nice too.

Highly recommend it to golfers of all skill levels!

Despite a lot of practice and a few lessons from different pros I was unable to get my old clubhead speed and accuracy back. Although I am 68 I maintain my fitness and my flexibility and strength are little different from 10 years ago. My first lesson with Brian was last month. I had some trepidation about having a lesson without seeing the ball flight on a range. However I greatly appreciated the fact that the lesson was completely private on his property, which made things much more personal than on a public driving range. His equipment and observations told me how I was striking the ball quite accurately and he made salient observations of my grip, set up and swing path that none of the other pros I have seen picked up on. After the lesson I returned to the range, and later the golf course, and I saw immediate improvements, which further improved with more practice. My weak fades were now gone! In fact I found myself overclubbing myself based upon previous expectations. I found that I could take one club less and still hit the greens. This is all after just one lesson! For those of you who have taken lessons from many different pros, as I have, you can really see the difference with Brian's lessons, of course combined with practice. He works with your physical capabilities rather than trying to teach you "his swing," as other pros have attempted unsuccessfully with me. This is especially important for a senior golfer who does not have the spinal and shoulder flexibility of a younger golfer. Thanks BRIAN, and I look forward to future lessons and swing improvements. You have made golf fun for me again!
