Great beach. $20/day seems a bit steep but this beach is well lifeguarded and has decent facilities. Giant parking lot here but it fills up fast, try to get here early. At the south end of the beach there's food trucks, showers and bathrooms. Free parking before 7:30AM and after 4:30PM. Great sunrise here if your not fogged in.

Nice Sandy beach, COLD water and you can only go up to your waist. Nice facilities and food trucks. Outdoor showers and changing. Flush toilets, yeah, and indoor changing. Pretty soft sand, faces east, so best to go in the am, but don't plan to swim or even wafe, it's too cold. Go Bayside for warmer water and to swim.

This is my favourite beach of my trip to Cape Cod thus far...sandy, long...with lovely dunes melting down to the beach itself, I can understand why so many of us Brits think that Cape Cod is very similar to Cornwall (bar the weather!!) Add to that, the sheer visceral thrill of GREAT WHITE SHARK warnings, GREAT WHITE SHARK flags, light aircraft buzzing for GREAT WHITE SHARK activity and no one in the water because of possible GREAT WHITE SHARK attacks, and it just made it relaxing AND exciting, a bit like sex I suppose.

Oh man, is the water ever cold at Nauset. The beach itself is stunningly beautiful, and sometimes you can see whales and dolphin off the coast. But wow, I don't know how people are able to swim in the water here! There are tons of lifeguards on this beach, and if you walk out past the edge of the parking lot (there's a dune entrance there), you can hang out on the "unprotected" side, where it's generally less crowded. The food is mostly overpriced swill, but that's to be expected at any beach. The coffee milkshakes, however, are divine.

Just beautiful. Nice sand, dozens of seals, clean water. The seals get so close to shore that it keeps me from swimming, but being in the sun & splashed from the surf is enough for a very relaxing visit. Like all of the National Seashore beaches, very rocky where the waves crash on shore. Wear water shoes to get past that comfortably.

This is far and away the most beautiful beach I've ever been to and I look forward to going back. I guess living in Boston makes you take for granted that we have some of the worlds best beaches just an hour or so away. It's located right on the southern tip of the Cape Cod National Seashore and definitely worth the trip from anywhere. There's a $15.00 parking fee for all day access to the beach but I think there is an option to buy a yearly pass to the national seashore for around $75.00 or so. The nice thing is that the parking lot is huge so you'll probably have no trouble finding a spot and it's close to the beach. Also, there's no shuttle ride required like at Coast Guard Beach. Don't forget to check out Liam's while you're there to get some excellent fried seafood! I was able to check out this beach as the tide was going out just before sunset. The sand was very soft and there were no nasty patches of rocks or seaweed that you find on some Cape Cod beaches. The water was very cold because it's on the Atlantic side of the cape but that shouldn't deter anyone from getting in there and having some fun in the huge waves! My only regret is that it took me until I was 27 to see this beach.

Best beach on the cape.... Clean bathrooms, clam shack, life guards, and huge waves. Beware though..... It's COLD!!

Not that I am aware of.

Unfortunately, this year was to cold to swim. We had swam last year and it was great! There is a Supermarket across the street and the beach not far at all. The motel provides an informative binder. The town center is actually within walking distance for most people about 1/4 to 1/2 miles away. Becareful though, the road in front of the property, at the traffic lights gets very busy. To be totally transparent and give a 100% honest review these next things were a few minor issues that only happened our last visit. The water pressure in the shower was very slow. No shower liner, (not the problem) the fabric curtian got soaking wet and wet the whole floor, causing a slipping hazzard. The soap and shampoo/conditioners weren't filled. We were supposed to be given a second key that was never dropped off. Had the T.V. shut off at about 10pm while we were watching, out of nowhere. I called the office to let the staff know and got a NOT my problem response, that I wasn't excepting. This year we had tried to book 2 days again, but only one was available. Go when the tide is going out and you can explore everything left behind on the ocean floor, or come back when the tide is coming in. Watching the water return at the speed it does is a really unique experience. You can check the tide schedule online. We went on a relatively mild, overcast day. The water was cold but not freezing. I imagine on a hot summer day it probably warms up quite a bit since it's so shallow. This was an incredible experience for both of my kids. My one year old loved splashing around in all the little pools the tide left behind. My six year old was completely fascinated watching the tide come rushing back in. None of us were expecting it to be as dramatic as it was. The overall vibe here was great too. People seemed friendly and relaxed, and we enjoyed the atmosphere much more than some of the beaches we visited around Newport the week before.

Coast Guard Beach seemed great also except for the fact that we would have to park and then take a shuttle to the shore. We decided on this beach, which seems to have the same feel as Coast Guard. We got there at about 945am on a Tuesday morning in August. There were only a handful of parking spots left at The Beachcomber. Parking was $30 but we got a voucher to use toward food or souvenirs from The Beachcomber (the food and mixed drinks there were very good). The beach is accessible by a pathway on a sand dune that is tall and steep. Going down was easy. Going back up required a few rest stops for me. I'm pregnant and I was carrying our 1.5 year old. It probably would've been easier for me had I not been pregnant but this is definitely not a trek for anyone with physical limitations. My 4 year old went up and down twice but her legs were really burning the 2nd time going up. This is one of the best beaches I've ever been to. Sapphire water and soft sand. Quiet crowd and limited cell service, which added to the relaxation. The shore is a little rocky but doable without water shoes. Once you walk into the water a few feet from the shore the rocks give way to soft sand. The water was cold. I almost felt like I was taking an ice bath. But it felt great once I got acclimated and really helped me cool down in the 85 degree weather. It was a really special experience and so picturesque. One important note: there is a danger of sharks because of the booming seal population. We saw seals in the early afternoon swimming playfully about 20 feet from shore. Some locals will not get in the water if they spot seals-- that means sharks could be nearby. There were lifeguards on duty and also a shark patrol boat along the coast but it's still a little scary! The current got very strong in the early afternoon. I'm used to the crashing waves at the Atlantic beaches in NY and this undertow concerned even me.

This beach is such a peaceful spot and very relaxing. I grew up and spent most of my life on the east coast, but since moving to California, I have visited many of the notable beaches between San Diego and San Francisco. With that said, Cahoon Hollow is still one of my favorite beaches in the United States. I have generally visited Cahoon Hollow in May-June or September-October when parking is usually free and the beaches are not very crowded. I recommend trying to visit at those times. This is another GREAT beach for sitting on and spending the day OR for taking a nice long stroll. You could walk for miles. I recommend packing a lunch, snacks and beverages. There are 2 negatives to this beach: 1. Parking is pricey in the summer. 2. It's a VERY steep walk to get down to the beach. **Lecount Hollow is another equally stunning beach that is located right next to Cahoon Hollow.**

We walked 1 mile south during low tide and enjoyed all the tide pools and different shapes created in the sand by the water. We also walked a half mile north and it is very quiet except for the spot next to the entrance.
