Moving to MA a few month ago from CA. Never imagined there are seals and dolphins in MA. I am excited seeing here many seals and dolphins! It was windy but very nice beach!

This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cape and extra special to me since it is in Chatham. I grew up spending time in this quaint little seaside town each summer ever since I was a baby. However, be VERY cautious about going in the water here. There have been drownings and other accidents. The is a very strong current here. I was there the day this happened: http://www.capecodtimes.com/article/20080905/news/809050303 The town does a good idea of posting signs about the risks of going in the water, but accidents keep happenings. I would recommend sitting on this beach or dipping your toes in the water, but be cautious! Parking at the lighthouse is very limited, so I prefer to park in town and walk here. If you like walking on beaches, this is a great place for it and you could get a good long stroll in.

My personal favorite beach on Cape Cod. We visit this beach upon every visit to Cape Cod. Beautiful views!! Parking is always a hassle as there is not much parking for the amount of people who visit this location.

Such a beautiful beach! By far my favorite in Chatham, the only issue I have with it is the parking. You can park for 30 minutes from 9-5 so it's great for pictures, but unfortunately if you're looking to spend the day here you're going to have to go looking for parking somewhere else...(which is not as easy as it sounds). Other than that the beach is incredible, it's well-kept, offers a beautiful view, and it's rarely crowded which is nice compared to the smaller beaches where you're just feet away from the family next to you.

    Gorgeous.

The beach below the Chatham Lighthouse is one of our favorite beaches to spend the day. The beach seems to be never-ending - you can walk along the shore for what seems like miles (and might actually be miles). I walk with family members and we lose track of time walking and walking and walking... Farther down the coast, away from where most people are, you can find beautiful, polished rocks, colorful seashells and all sorts of washed up marine life. The other day we saw seals swimming, and on a jetty a few hundred yards off the shore, hundreds of seals sunbathing! It was an amazing sight to see! The beach is very clean and the water is almost as blue as Caribbean waters (no joke!). And while you're laying out or swimming in the surf, it's nice to turn around and see the lighthouse on the hill. A beautiful place!!

Came here today by recommendation from a friend, I heard you can see the seals and walk for miles! Luckily everything I was told was spot on - it's a beautiful beach and was not very crowded at all, probably because it's early in the season and was a bit cloudy today. You can definitely walk for what seems like forever, and the sand is soft so it's a great workout! I was able to see some seals, but they were out a bit further than I'd hoped. Noteworthy though that the great white sharks hunt seals, so id say this isn't the best beach for swimming! They do have a swimming area roped off if you choose to be daring and go for a dip, but the water is pretty chilly so I wasn't interested anyway. PARKING: 30 minutes is the max at the top of the beach from 9-5, really just for sightseeing or you can come early and stay for a bit. I parked on Main Street at Eldridge Garage for $5, and it was about 3/4 mile walk to the beach. Not bad at all! And the garage is right in town if you wanted to walk that way after your beach day :)

Beautiful beach. Great place to relax and take in the view. Bring a beach chair and book.

Amazing beach with some of the best sand on the cape. Family friendly. Signs say that the tide can be Extremely dangerous.

There's a large tidal pond attached to Nantucket Sound in the beginning of the beach where you'll find most the large families or most with small children. The little pond is shielded from the Sound by dunes and vegetation. It's shallow and definitely warmer than the actual ocean. Another plus is that it has no waves. The down side however of it is when the temperature is really hot or the sun beats on it for too long....it smells. Bad. Almost like sewage. I'm pretty sure it's due to the seaweed in/around the water getting "cooked" from the sun but still....We only lasted there a few minutes with my daughter because it was so bad. I don't know how other families were tolerating it! We sat near the lifeguard station the past two times we went. It was a great area to sit because there weren't too many families around us and we had a straight shot down to the water. The biggest problem of this beach.....the seagulls. They're honestly assholes. Stealing food from your bags and from your HANDS. I felt like I needed to be on high alert whenever my daughter had a snack. I'll be damned if a bird tried to take something from her. I know seagulls are at beaches everywhere but these ones here seemed worse than usual!! Pricing wise it can definitely add up if you're not careful. $75 for the week or $20 a day for non residents. There's also a food stop and little store at the beginning of the beach. Typical overpriced food items, though the items in the store were decently priced! My daughter loved their cookie dough ice cream!

The beach has two sides, the ocean front one and a more protected inlet. The protected area has very gentle waters and is great for little kids. Each summer you see kids having a blast with their fishing nets and building sand castles. There is even a snack bar by this beach which is great and super convenient for grabbing a bite to eat. Parking costs are steep during the peak season if you don't own property and can't pick up a resident sticker for your car. One week of parking is $75 or $20 a day for non-residents. There are 2 bridges to access this beach, one by the parking lot and the other on a nearby side street. One negative to this beach is the portapotties, but it's better than nothing.
