    Gorgeous sunsets!

Absolutely postcard quality beach - except for the actual swimming part. Very rocky shoreline (strongly recommend aqua shoes), and constant rip tide current. Went the last week of June 2021 when daytime temperatures were in the high 80's and low 90's. Ocean temp was a chilly 58F. Lots of seals. No sharks spotted today. Also, biting horse flies are HORRIBLE - bring bug spray or you will absolutely leave with painful bites all over your legs and feet.

One of our favorite beaches on the Cape! Clean, quiet, vast enough to practice social distancing. Very friendly staff members. Will definitely be returning!

I had as much fun here as I could...but the goddamn rocks killed it for me.

Upon arrival to Marconi beach's deck, I noticed virtually no one was in the water on this insane 90 degree day. This served as a warning sign that something was wrong-the imaginative side of me initially thought sharks, but intuition told me it was something else. We should have immediately turned back to the car at this point...but we had already paid the incredibly steep $20 parking fee. Finding space for HQ wasn't difficult at all, I even appreciate that this is a dog-friendly beach! What left a sour impression with me was that it was IMPOSSIBLE to wade your way into the water without suffering from a combination of (beautiful) large and small rocks being hurled your way with each oncoming wave. My feet were blistering red and sore from my brave attempts and I even sustained a substantial purple bruise on the top of my foot :( I was never able to make it past my knees into the water and I overheard other beach goers complain as well with this obstacle. I'm not sure why anyone else failed to mention this in their reviews, but I was OWNED by the rocks and caution others to reconsider coming here if you're looking to actually get in on some water action...because you will not make it in. You just won't. If you're looking to sunbathe or read a book, then by all means, do so. But please beware of the rockiness.

Parking: $15 per car. Kinda pricey, but totally worth it. Tip: Fill your car with as many people as you can to make the parking more worth it! This beach is amazing and well groomed (not covered with seaweed and sharp stuff that will poke your feet). Its beautiful. Bring your beach umbrella, a towel, some food, and enjoy. Despite slapping on layers of sunscreen, I still got pretty burnt here. Its such an amazing feeling to be in the water, trying to jump as each wave came. Lots of families were here.

Marconi beach at the end of September

I went to Marconi beach at the end of September. Beach: Soft sand, a little rocky where the waves come in, clean/clear water Waves: Light waves at the time I was there but enough to bring in some surfers Water Temp: At the time I went (end of Sept) a bit too cold to go in past my legs. I would guess the water temp was in the lower 50's. There were swimmers and with the warmth of the Sun it would be easy to warm up and get dry. Amenities: Clean changing area and bathrooms with showers. Cool factor: Might see some seals, but also seals might attract sharks so there are some warning signs around the beach. Realistically not an issue.

Don't miss the White Cedar Swamp while at Marconi station/beach..

While we have only been to the beach proper once, we always do the white cedar swamp walk. Nice boardwalk thru a rarity of a bog in the middle of sand dunes. Beautifully eerie place, perfect for a movie set...

Nice beach, great way to spend time relaxing and soak some sun. The only problem I have is all the beach gnats that bites! The area becomes very itchy after your bitten and it was irritating. My girlfruend and I only stayed here for a couple hours only cause we were so uncomfortable after getting bitten Parking here is $20 for the day, lucky we were staying at a bed and bath place up the road and with a 5 minute walk to the beach, we avoided the parking fee.

Postcard beach. Good spot for short strolls or to see sunsets. Came here during the off season. Very rough waters otherwise for swimming.

I'm not sure why people love this beach so much. It's crowded. Noisy. Full of trash. Lots of dogs off leash. Even off season.

Coast Guard Beach seemed great also except for the fact that we would have to park and then take a shuttle to the shore. We decided on this beach, which seems to have the same feel as Coast Guard. We got there at about 945am on a Tuesday morning in August. There were only a handful of parking spots left at The Beachcomber. Parking was $30 but we got a voucher to use toward food or souvenirs from The Beachcomber (the food and mixed drinks there were very good). The beach is accessible by a pathway on a sand dune that is tall and steep. Going down was easy. Going back up required a few rest stops for me. I'm pregnant and I was carrying our 1.5 year old. It probably would've been easier for me had I not been pregnant but this is definitely not a trek for anyone with physical limitations. My 4 year old went up and down twice but her legs were really burning the 2nd time going up. This is one of the best beaches I've ever been to. Sapphire water and soft sand. Quiet crowd and limited cell service, which added to the relaxation. The shore is a little rocky but doable without water shoes. Once you walk into the water a few feet from the shore the rocks give way to soft sand. The water was cold. I almost felt like I was taking an ice bath. But it felt great once I got acclimated and really helped me cool down in the 85 degree weather. It was a really special experience and so picturesque. One important note: there is a danger of sharks because of the booming seal population. We saw seals in the early afternoon swimming playfully about 20 feet from shore. Some locals will not get in the water if they spot seals-- that means sharks could be nearby. There were lifeguards on duty and also a shark patrol boat along the coast but it's still a little scary! The current got very strong in the early afternoon. I'm used to the crashing waves at the Atlantic beaches in NY and this undertow concerned even me.

First off, you do need a beach sticker provided by the town of Wellfleet. However, in the nighttime, it does not matter. There is a huge parking lot for enough spaces, and most likely you will find a spot during the daytime. A bathroom is provided in the lot in the center. There's even an ice cream truck featuring hot dogs and water that's parked toward the ocean. For the fun, there is a big hill to climb down either way (left or right) that leads down to the beach and sands. Normally, you'll find a lot of people with their blankets and sometimes looking for a spot can be very time-consuming. There are a couple of lifeguards here at Newcomb, but only patrol a small area, so please be careful in the water. Bonfires are allowed but require a permit in the same place where a beach sticker is picked up. Getting here to Newcomb is very easy as it is located at the end of Ocean View Drive. There is one parking lot located across the pond that has a decent number of parking spaces. There is a trail on the other side of the parking lot that leads to the sand along with benches and picnic tables. In front, there is a big pond that is long, hence the name Long Pond. Looking on Google maps, you'll see why that's the name. Some changes have been made since we came this year with the main dock to dive from being moved to the side, with a note on it saying private property (I have a photo of it). Back then, anyone could dive from it. Another additional upgrade that was well needed was providing more benches in the sand. I find that to be very helpful for people who do not like sitting in the sand or just don't like laying in the sun. The beach has a decent size but most of the time, especially in the late afternoon to early evening, it will get packed. There is usually enough room toward the pond but may have to go into the back toward the woods. Motorboats are not allowed at this pond, in fact, any. However, paddle boats are allowed or in general anything nonmotor related. With that, have fun at Long Pond!

The water is super clean in this kettle pond formed by glaciers thousand of years ago and no motorized boats are allowed. There is a decent sized wooden raft to swim out to and hang out or fool around, throwing each other off. This second option is popular with kids. The actualy beach used to be mostly grass which has slowly diminished over the years and is now mostly sand. There are two wood benches. There are shade trees in a few spots. Great for large groups up to maybe 15 or 20. You can access Long Pond Road from the center of town or Route 6 or Ocean View Drive. If you do not have a beach sticker, you will either get a ticket or be towed. I am not sure. Beach stickers are available on the town pier for those folks who have proof of residence, either as permanent ie own property or vacationers with proof of stay from the establishent where they are staying. Small sailboats and canoes are OK for this pond. There is a small connecting pond to the left of the beach.
