I became aware of Vitamin Shoppe in Sunset Valley purely by accident. I was using an online…read morevitamin finder to locate methylcobalamin (B-12, the more expensive kind that doesn't reduce to cyanide upon metabolism), and Vitamin Shoppe proved to be least expensive place to buy it. In a hurry, I paid more for some methyl B-12 at WFM. A month later, when I was out, I made a trip to Vitamin Shoppe. Their inventory is diverse and deep, so I asked for help in finding what I needed. I found the staff to be most helpful in that regard, showing me my options. I settled on the store brand methyl B-12, which was on a BOHO sale at the time of my visit. As a bonus, the store offered some free fitness magazines, but I was told that at least one of them had some great tips and recipes. I don't know that I'll source all of my vitamin needs here in the future, but, for the specialty items, I certainly will. And I'll keep my eyes open for opportunities to do more business with Vitamin Shoppe.

I was looking for some lip balm that my parents used and which I had taken from their apartment after they died to remember them by. I was running out and stopped by the pharmacy to see if they had anymore that I could buy since it helped me remember them during the grieving process. They didn't have any at the store saying they no longer carried that lip balm and offered me an alternative but when I told them I was looking for that particular one since it reminded me of my departed parents, several staff asked me to wait and they went into their warehouse to see if they could find me any remainders. Luckily they found a few and wouldn't take any compensation for them. You are lucky to have a store like that in Austin with such compassionate staff.

The friend that I was meeting had been there before and for my understanding things were a little bit different before July 31, when some of the rules changed in Austin. They also had a DJ that was upstairs in a little cubby kind of cool however, the music varied vastly from one genre to the next. You almost started to get into a groove and then different genre. I really enjoyed the walk to the ladies room. They had these mirrors with these cute little chairs. I would assume that you could sit there and overall it was a decent experience. I would totally go back to see and try some of the other drinks, and I really enjoyed the low-key vibe as well as the decor which almost seemed similar to a speakeasy. The service was great. We were at Table service so they came around to offer drinks and the value I was about 14 bucks for drinks so that seems on par for the downtown Austin area.
