Eat The Art - I made this macaron all by myself at home thanks to Heather!

If you want a delicious and artistic cake, cookies, cupcakes, chocolates, caramels...the list goes…read moreon and on. Heather Longpre, owner and creative genius behind Eat The Art, is your girl! I'm not sure how I heard about Eat The Art, but I have been ordering all my boys birthday cakes from her for years. I always say, what kind of cake do you want this year and they come up with some interesting asks. We've had a pirate ship, a dump truck full of candy, a shark tooth shark cake (it was a t-Rex and shark creation), a roller hockey cake and a fishing cake. Heather's creations are over the top amazing to look at and to eat! Eat the Art also has the most beautiful chocolates and candies you can imagine. The Valentine candy I ordered for teachers was too pretty to eat, but I tried one for myself and oh my, it was amazing! The next time you are looking for a cake or candies please consider Eat The Art and you won't be disappointed...you will be spoiled for any other cake/candy for the rest of your life. She even delivers to your door or location of choice!

I had the best time at a macaron class! We came here for a bachelorette party activity and it was…read moreso much fun! I've always wanted to learn how to make macarons but the process seemed intimidating and the cost for classes in my area is high. When my friends proposed this, I couldn't believe the value. We had a hands on class where Heather taught us the best tips and tricks to tackle macarons at home. I left armed with a box of tasty treats (that I made!), detailed recipes, and so many great pieces of general baking advice. My baking has improved already. I would have given Eat the Art 5 stars if my experience had ended with just the class. But now that I have lots of time and nowhere to go, I decided to put my skills to the test. I made macarons at home! Heather is obviously an artist and you will definitely want to do as she says and "eat the art." If you're looking for a girls' weekend activity or something fun for a bachelorette party, you will not regret taking a class at Eat the Art!

We loved every minute of it!…read more I bought two groupons for this place for a night my fiancé and I get bored and can't find anything to do. So on Monday, we finally decided to go. At first he wasn't thrilled about the idea but I forced him to come with me since I didn't want to waste our tickets. The class starts on time and 3 hours later, we were sad it was over! My fiancé actually got into it! They walk you through all the steps so there is really no way you could mess the painting up. It's not meant for artists. It's meant for people who've never painted before. Our instructor was really enthusiastic and was VERY patient. We had an older woman sitting across us who was over thinking and kept asking the instructor to fix her painting. I was annoyed but the assistant and the instructor were so patient and kind to her. You can bring alcohol so that obviously made it more fun for us too! this is such a good date night or a night with your friends. Check their calendar and the time allotted for each painting because the time it takes to finish one varies. It also gets really busy on that street so get there early! Eat somewhere at Lenox village instead. Traffic around that area is horrible! Great great experience! We loved it!

Took the kids to Paint + Canvas today and painted. They did great and I'm really proud of them…read more Painting is not in Owen's comfort zone and he rocked it! This is a great studio and we had a lot of fun! The studio is beautiful with lots of space. Thanks Amy, we had a great time!

I brought a painting of a friend's Golden Retriever in for framing. Brent did a great job framing…read moreit and got the framing done in record time so my friend and I could pick it up quickly. He was friendly and kind and went above and beyond the usual to make our experience a good one. The painting looks beautiful, and my friend will treasure it forever.

Imagine ordering a single item online because you think it will be an easier experience to have it…read morebrought curbside rather than entering the store. And imagine you discover that this was an utterly disastrous choice that threw off your entire hectic schedule. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that this Michaels isn't like others and is severely understaffed, but we learned that the hard way. Let me be clear that it isn't the employees who make this a lesser Michaels. It's the management and the inefficiency of their system here. After following the online check-in protocol and parking outside in an allocated spot, we waited for 20 minutes our singular item to arrive at the car. It never did. We entered the store only to find a long line. One unfortunate cashier worked mightily to handle the madness when at least two should have been present. But they struggled to keep up with the issues arising. This is the reality of some stores in a post-COVID era who have turned to self-scanners and fewer employees. But it was reaffirmed on this early evening that you simply cannot replace human problem solving. The line grew. The desperate cashier recommended using the self-scanning checkout options to diminish the line. Only one person obliged and none of the others budged. But they had good reasons, mostly. One customer in line needed to make a return which requires human interaction. Another customer had just one question about framing as it appeared that not a single other employee inhabited this enormous store, with nobody stationed in the popular framing department. Elderly customers in line were technologically afraid of the self-scanners. And I just needed to pick up that ONE ITEM! When it was finally my turn, the employee had to leave the growing line and walk to a shelving section of online orders. Shouldn't there be an employee who handles just that? And they found my name but no product. That caused another 10-minute delay. They eventually just pulled another one off the shelf. But a quick errand on the way to an important appointment that should have taken about five minutes in theory became a 40-minute fiasco. And none of it was the fault of the solo employee trying to run the operation. Shame on the manager(s) for putting them in that position. I've now discovered why this is the lowest rated Michaels in Middle Tennessee!
