This was such an easy and fun experience. The studio is a large, open, and inviting space with a large selection of ceramics and paint colors. After painting for some time we took a lunch break and left our items with the stafff, then returned to finish painting. There were table sizes to accommodate groups of various sizes. There were several mutli-generational families there painting together. I came with my niece and my dad. A super fun way to spend a very hot July afternoon in Tennessee. My daughter and I were bored , looking for something to do, and we came across Third Coast Clay. There are many items and colors to choose. Great experience! Highly recommend for a bonding event for any size group. The only thing is i wish they could cure items on the spot and take them with you. You have to leave it and come back to pick it up 7 days later. This is ideal for locals, but if you're out of town not so great. I'm not sure if they offer shipping services. Third coast clay is an incredible business located in the Franklin Factory. The Factory is a renovated factory that houses many cool shops and restaurants. Third Coast Clay is located near other fine establishments such as Five Daughters Bakery and Mojo's Tacos. The staff is very kind but offer little instruction. There were complaints about this in other reviews, however the staff ask if you need help before you start. There are also directions around the store and the concept is pretty self-explanatory. The cost is not too pricey and this makes for a really great date or hang out spot. read more

We were a bit hesitant seeing all the kid birthday parties however, there's such a vast selection of pottery pieces from cups, vases, jewelry holders, Christmas trees, ornaments and so much more. This is a great place for friends to gather and a date night option. The only take walk ins or reservations for groups of 7+ people. You pay a studio fee of $8 to get access to the brushes, paint, stencils and supplies. In additional, you pay for pottery which ranges from $10 to $40. It took us two hours to paint and we will definitely be back. You will leave your finished piece to be fired and glazed and can pick up in a week. read more

My boyfriend and I were having a date night at Mojo's Tacos (which is also in the Franklin Factory.) We were about to leave, but ran into this place and decided to decorate a pumpkin for fall! Not sure why people are complaining about the cost. It's a $7 fee per person for using their supplies and time. Then, you choose something to paint. I came here on a Friday night with a group of friends. We called at about 6:30 and were able to get a reservation for 10 at 7:30. There weren't a ton of people when we got there, so there was plenty of space on a Friday night. The way it works is that you pay a $7.00 studio fee (that covers your paint and brushes) and then choose your pottery. It seemed like the pieces started at around 10 and went up from there. I've always wanted to visit a pottery-painting studio (because I'm artsy like that) because I've heard how much it is. Well we get to The Factory, which is amazing by the way, and as soon as we walk in we are cheerfully greeted by the staff. I tell them that it's our first time ever doing something like this and they were extremely helpful in explaining the entire process for us. We decided to do something simple since it was our first time so we both went with plates. Hers was an awesome UGA plate filled with Gator-hate and mine represented Cellblock 303. This was just a fun experience as we were able to paint and talk and just have a blast. Our plates turned out quite awesome and I highly recommend you take a date and explore your creative side. I booked a birthday party for my daughter at Third Coast Clay because I wanted something that would be neat for them to do and I would not have to worry about making a mess in my own home. When we arrived they took us back to the more "private" party area. We had selected a price range for the pieces the girls could choose from. I was originally fearful that there might not be anything the girls would consider "cute", but that fear was quickly squashed as the girls actually had trouble deciding which of the adorable figures they would put their own touch to. My older son even got in on the action. The attendant walked the kids through the process and gave them tips so that the colors would turn out as they wanted them to. The next hour was spent by the kids painting, chatting and having a fun time. The extra cool thing was the party plate that came with the package that was painted and personalized just for her and we all got to sign with a special pencil. She now has a keepsake that she can keep forever, should she choose to. When everyone was finished we then had cupcakes and drinks (that we brought in). I paid at the end of the party and was able to select when I wanted to pick up the items and if they wanted the girls could come on their own and pick them up as well when they were ready. It really is a place for all ages be it a girls birthday party, a ladies night out or a family gathering. I have loved this place since I was a little girl. It's such a fun, friendly environment to relax and make something one of a kind. My fiancé and I just had date night and we made wedding gifts for our parents together. I was slightly shocked on how much prices have increased over the years. Obviously they are still doing well, but it never ceases to amaze me how much inflation changes things. Studio fees are 7$ a person, and each piece is individually priced. We were hoping to do a simple plate, but for 32$ for one we simply had to pass. We ended up decorating ornaments which were still pretty steep at 8$ each. I went in for the first time today around 4pm. The girl with the short black hair was really nice. She explained everything to me and came over to me a few different times while I was painting my little Buddha to see how I was doing. The other girl with short blonde hair was on her phone a lot and didn't do a whole of work like the other girl did. When I went to go pay I had left my wallet at home and the one girl with black hair was chill about and said that I could call the store and pay over the phone or come in later that night before closing to pay for it. Clean and organized. Paints were watery. Nice atmosphere and pleasant people. Great experience but the ceramics are a little pricey.

When we arrived we explained this was our first time. Rather than coming over and explaining all the services they said nothing. I had to go up to ask where the paint was and ask what the sponge and water was for. After we were done we noticed other kids had aprons on and turn tables. There was a lack of service and zero professionalism and an overall poor attitude. We were so disappointed as we looked forward to doing this with our kids. read more

I am a grown adult with no children and I loved this pottery studio! So many amazing items to paint! I do enjoy getting my creative on, and this was a great spot to do just that! It's a $6 fee to paint, and then the cost of whatever you decide you want to paint. And there are so many items to choose from. Mugs, plates, seasonal items...there's something for everyone really. There are superhero figurines even! The staff here were super helpful in explaining the whole process. They have a great selection of paints that include tiles showing you how your finished product will look. Once you paint, your items will be kiln fired and ready for pickup a week later (remember that so you're not thinking you can walk out with your art that day). I went here with friends and we had such a great time. It's a great place for kids parties too, if you have children, but its also a great place to go with friends before having dinner at the Factory, where the studio is located. I really enjoyed everything about this place. I painted an owl mug, and owl candle holder (yes, I like owls!) and a bird plate. And I am not at all ashamed to say I had a wonderful time doing so.
