Excellent spot of a team building or date night! Pick your items then paint away. My biggest complaints is the items on the shelves needed to be pulled forward. Lots to choose from. Quiet but friendly staff. They will answer any questions you have!

Finished product! Not too bad for the first time!

My daughter and I were bored , looking for something to do, and we came across Third Coast Clay. There are many items and colors to choose. Great experience! Highly recommend for a bonding event for any size group. The only thing is i wish they could cure items on the spot and take them with you. You have to leave it and come back to pick it up 7 days later. This is ideal for locals, but if you're out of town not so great. I'm not sure if they offer shipping services. Overall, great experience. We will definitely visit again.

I made a reservation for ten girls to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding as a morning activity during bachelorette stay-cation. We had the most fun and relaxing time, even with a range of artistic abilities. Prices are extremely affordable; business was communicative, kind, clear, and easy to work with. We're all local, and we are already making plans to be back! Couldn't recommend more for an outing in Franklin!

I painted a ring dish there.

Third coast clay is an incredible business located in the Franklin Factory. The Factory is a renovated factory that houses many cool shops and restaurants. Third Coast Clay is located near other fine establishments such as Five Daughters Bakery and Mojo's Tacos. The staff is very kind but offer little instruction. There were complaints about this in other reviews, however the staff ask if you need help before you start. There are also directions around the store and the concept is pretty self-explanatory. The cost is not too pricey and this makes for a really great date or hang out spot.

As adults, we had a blast at Third Coast Clay. We were a bit hesitant seeing all the kid birthday parties however, there's such a vast selection of pottery pieces from cups, vases, jewelry holders, Christmas trees, ornaments and so much more. This is a great place for friends to gather and a date night option. The only take walk ins or reservations for groups of 7+ people. You pay a studio fee of $8 to get access to the brushes, paint, stencils and supplies. In additional, you pay for pottery which ranges from $10 to $40. It took us two hours to paint and we will definitely be back. You will leave your finished piece to be fired and glazed and can pick up in a week.

Such a fun place to hang out with friends! Staff was very friendly and so many ceramic options to choose from!

My boyfriend and I were having a date night at Mojo's Tacos (which is also in the Franklin Factory.) We were about to leave, but ran into this place and decided to decorate a pumpkin for fall! Not sure why people are complaining about the cost. It's a $7 fee per person for using their supplies and time. Then, you choose something to paint. I saw things as little as $5, but most ranged $10-$30. Our pumpkins were $12 each. We spent an hour or two here. Not a bad price for a very fun night!

Lost/gave away/burnt FOUR of my friends pieces that all had names on the bottom. I don't trust this place at all.

Clean and organized. Paints were watery. Nice atmosphere and pleasant people. Great experience but the ceramics are a little pricey.

This place was fun, i went by myself on a friday where i got off of work early. I went to the story but the beer place that sells growlers (tiny town and trenton) and i was pleasantly surprised. I wish i could actually have made the pottery piece that i painted (false advertising, i think) but that's ok. On Wednesdays they have a military appreciation day where you don't pay $6. Anyways, i picked up a sea shell jewelry box, $15, and painted it for about an hour to an hour in a half with little to no distractions or bothering from the employees. I was kind of annoyed that i had to keep getting up and asking for more paint like a child but i understand. There are a lot of children that go there with their parents and if they were to give me the paint tube, they might think i'd abuse it. So i paid about $23 in total on that Friday, because i didn't go to the Wednesday special, but all and all it was a good time. I'd go there for a date :) it's cute and it gives you time to think and chat if you bring a friend.

We were probably in there for about 4-5 minutes before anyone came up to us which was fine. The woman asked us if we had been to their location before and we both said no. She then pretty rudely stated we needed to go wash our hands before we could do anything. The act of washing our hands was fine, it was just how it was said. She acted as if we were an inconvenience to her day. Also, if washing hands is major concern then maybe they should have someone greeting customers. There were maybe 5-6 other customers in the store already painting and they did not seem overly busy. We both washed our hands and went back to select our pieces. We both got a bad vibe so we decided to leave. Once we left my friend said she overheard the employees talking about us as she washing her hands. If you are looking for a place to paint pottery and don't mind the drive we both loved The Hot Spot in Springfield. They were super helpful and attentive and had lower prices than this store. Only downside is the drive.

We looked through the Project Gallery, which had quite a variety of signs to choose from, and each of us selected a different one to make. These were the first signs any of us have ever made. They provided us with all the quality materials, tools, and personal instructions need for each project. The entire staff was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable with the variety of projects we choose from. Emily, was a godsend! She was very patient and detailed in answering our questions. She even assisted us when we doubted our ability. Kathy, the owner, was right there helping as needed while working with another group also. We never felt rushed. We brought a charcuterie tray and drinks with us to nibble and sip on as we worked. Such fun!! Keep in mind when picking projects and setting aside enough time to complete them, that the smaller signs could take an hour, the large ones can take two hours, and the real big ones can take even longer. Plan accordingly. I would definitely return to Hammer and Stain - Mt Juliet for more fun!!!
