Vibe: The studio is a cozy, creative space accessible to adults, kids, teens, or anyone looking for a break. The studio has plenty of seats for groups of two or more. They also offer a small refrigerator with water and Poppi for purchase. Selections: Each table is stocked with painting supplies, including a variety of brushes, paints, sponges, and water, while a large table provides additional supplies. The pottery is displayed prominently, ranging in size and style from mugs, bowls, coasters, figurines, to ornaments, with around 400 pieces to choose from, so there's something for everyone! I visited during the fall, so they had a great selection of fall and Halloween-themed figurines and ornaments. Service: First, the Brushfire team is incredibly polite and helpful, guiding first-timers through the process. While we're painting, they handle the glazing and firing of the pottery. The turnaround for finished pieces is about a week, but the studio holds onto them for up to a month in case you can't pick them up right away. Value: The basic studio fee is very reasonable; the cost mainly depends on which piece you choose to paint. Prices range from $5 to $80. I chose a figurine priced around $15, and I felt it was quite fair. Note: Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, since this place attracts a lot of couples and families. If someone is very particular about fine art, this studio might feel more like a hobby-level venue rather than a professional gallery, which I think is perfect for someone like me, who doesn't have fine art training. I loved my experience here, it's a fantastic place to create a handmade gift or a personalized piece for yourself. The studio offers tons of options, making it fun to craft something unique!

We looked through the Project Gallery, which had quite a variety of signs to choose from, and each of us selected a different one to make. These were the first signs any of us have ever made. They provided us with all the quality materials, tools, and personal instructions need for each project. The entire staff was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable with the variety of projects we choose from. Emily, was a godsend! She was very patient and detailed in answering our questions. She even assisted us when we doubted our ability. Kathy, the owner, was right there helping as needed while working with another group also. We never felt rushed. We brought a charcuterie tray and drinks with us to nibble and sip on as we worked. Such fun!! Keep in mind when picking projects and setting aside enough time to complete them, that the smaller signs could take an hour, the large ones can take two hours, and the real big ones can take even longer. Plan accordingly. I would definitely return to Hammer and Stain - Mt Juliet for more fun!!!

I love that this is an activity that people of different ages can enjoy together. The atmosphere was wonderful, with nice music and such a relaxed vibe. Painting was also incredibly calming and gave us a chance to slow down, be creative, and enjoy spending quality time together. We had so much fun, and I would definitely recommend it for a fun outing!

I'm sad to write this review, as previous visits have been positives. However, after my recent…read morevisit, I think it's important to highlight the lack of professionalism. We were immediately spoken to rudely, even to the point where the worker said herself, "I'm being snarky" and covered her mouth. I would say something like, "oh extra charge is okay!" And she'd said, "it doesn't matter if it's okay with you I'm going to do it anyway." She made comments about other visitors and how annoying they were. We were absolutely gobsmacked by the way she spoke to all visitors, especially those with children. She loudly shared she was tired and exhausted of kids because she has to watch a two year old grand kid at home. She even came by my table and one point and without asking began to touch my wet design. As an avid painter, I will be spending my money on other pottery locations in Clarksville. This is quite sad, as the other worker was SO kind. But the unprofessional and rude voice was much louder than any service we received.
