5 star review because she had plenty of water (inside joke referring to a previous yelpers review)…read more The camaraderie and friendships formed during the class was very genuine (wish I would've gotten the peoples Instagrams or Facebook info)!! Maryanne made it feel like we were home! Super informative on how to make a genuine, homemade biscuit. There is an art and process to making the perfect biscuit. This is a must do when in Nashville...you won't be disappointed. The location and building is unassuming but once you are inside you feel the love

She clearly knows her biscuits! The location was unexpected and a little hard to find. Ms. Bird explained that her husband actually owned the little industrial park and when her classes got larger, instead of continuing to teach at her home, she fashioned a charming kitchen in the back of the building. There aren't any signs from the street, yet, so it's awkward driving around when you don't know what you are looking for. But one quick call and we were united with the other 12 people waiting for the class to begin. Maryann did a great job of explaining her credentials and how she fell in love with biscuits. She made biscuits right in front of us, talking us thru the process while making everyone comfortable with one another. She answered questions. She educated us about substitutions. And then she served us each one of those biscuits, complete with sausage gravy, to enjoy. After each table (there were about 6?) was given the tools and materials to make their own flour-y butter soaked delicacies. While those were cooking? Pictures, clean up, and a few products for sale (we picked up some biscuit cutters!) It was a great day, and wasn't affected by the heat OR scattered thunderstorms! Thankful for a fun activity we could enjoy even when we got back home. Lots of couples, moms and their adult children, girls on a Nashville weekend. Highly recommend

My wife and I took multiple Italian language programs and Jessica, our instructor, was the best (lei a' perfetta!). NCE in general offers so many classes, many language, skill learning, physical education, technical etc that there is really something for everyone. Their prices are very very reasonable (if you are thinking about learning a language look to NCE first - the others are very expensive). Our classroom was on W Charlotte in an old high school that was turned into a learning center, air conditioned, easy parking, a very nice learning environment. It is sponsored by the City of Nashville, and you can see their quarterly classes on line and download a quarterly education catalog (spring, summer, fall, winter). NCE is a great low-risk, low-cost way to finally get out and learn something new!

I've taken ukulele lessons, sign language and now pottery. The instructors are so nice as is all of the attendees. I've learned so much and met great people. I wish they worked harder to get a younger demographic, but that's fine - I'll continue to hang with the upper 60s crowd ‍

It has been a while and there is STILL trauma regarding how my family and I were treated. I became…read moreso depressed behind the lack of compassion, lack of humility, arrogance and simple ugliness towards us when we needed the dentist the most. I recognize there are some healthcare professionals that pursue the career path because of a desire to help others and earn a decent living doing what they love. Of course, there are the others like Dr. Hill Ferguson who should NEVER have pursued a career in healthcare when she obviously isn't remotely interested in the action verb of, CARING! To use the title "Dr" or "D.D.S"within the same sentence with the name Hill Ferguson should be considered a criminal act of treason. Outside of the act of pulling teeth without prior consent because "it was loose." Knicking gums to the point an infection caused over a months hospital stay, and topping all of the turmoil off with an arrogant, apathetic, gaslighting and dismissive attitude speaks a lot more to the true character of the individual than any title can ever show. Educational institutions can only teach a subject but not an emotion such as empathy or benevolence. There are many well educated sociopaths in the world masquerading as caring individuals in the healthcare industry. Additionally, we should be cautious of boasting the services of procedural sedation, which isn't a positive if it removes the rights of the patient to be asked and to give their consent. And, removing the rights of mentally challenged patients to be accompanied by family or assistants to their dental treatment is like sending a defenseless child alone to a predator physician and JUST HOPING she's not inappropriately touched while she's sedated and having teeth pulled without consent. Two important words to instill to all ages, reciprocity and Karma. These are real words with real respectability. These are not words that should only exist in the psychological.
