I had to question whether or not this person has a massage therapy license. I don't recall seeing it but here's the experience I had.
First, the booking. I called and left a message on Thursday morning to book my appointment. Friday evening around 8pm, I received a text telling me how to book my appointment. I thought that this was odd considering it's a business and I rarely text at all but here I'm being sent directions via text that probably would have been more professional over email. But I went to the link provided to book the appointment. That alone was overly complicated and a tech nightmare. And this is coming from someone who works in tech. It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to book the appointment for this groupon.
Then I receive an email the night before (that I didn't see until the morning of my appointment the next day...that says, "provide your voucher number or this appointment will be cancelled at 9am.) What? If there was a place in your complicated process for me to provide a voucher number OR instructions to DO so, then I would have...
At the time I opened the email it was 9:45a and my appointment was at 11:30a. I wasn't sure whether or not I could still get there so I provide the info via email. This location is an hour away from where I live (it was a gift) so I need to know whether or not I'm going to be able to go. The response came back quickly that the appointment was still valid...
Traveling to the location. That address above? Wrong. Your GPS will have you arriving in the middle of the street. When I finally DID get the massage she said, "yeah when I first came here, I got lost, too." Well fine time to share that when addess wise, you should clarify it so people can actually get here to receive this "relaxing experience" they signed up for...I had to call twice and leave a message JUST to get her to call me back and guide me in to the place.
If my APPOINTMENT is at 11:30 and I haven't shown up after CONFIRMING with you that I'd be there, don't you think you should call ME? I'm just curious because that's what any other professional company would do...
To you the potential client, make sure if you're going to this place and you're getting guided directions....KNOW that the parking deck is odd and there is MORE THAN ONE BUILDING attached to the parking structure so make sure when you park you're going into the right building...That wasn't shared with me. Don't go to the 15th floor and get off only to see Delta signs everywhere. Seeing as Tai guided me in, you'd think this too would be something she'd share before I got off the phone after parking.
No...It's like no attention to customer service or experience was done at all. Someone just got a certificate online from a faux massage company and said, yep opening a business now...with no thought to the clients she'd be helping.
Then the experience.
This is my first yelp review so clearly I signed up to share this.
At the beginning of my massage, Tai rubbed me over the blanket so long, I thought it was a new massage technique and was worried that this was how the entire massage would continue. That or maybe this was a flashback to the 6th grade and this was an attempt at rounding the bases with "clothes on".
Before we got started, she asked me what to focus on and I said my neck. If you have ever had neck pain and put your hand on the back of your neck to massage it out, then you will understand that THIS is exactly the way she rubbed MY neck. And at the end, she was holding my head up and her nails were digging into my scalp as she made another feeble attempt at massaging the one area I told her to focus on and she spent the least time on.
Before we even got to this point, I had begun questioning whether or not she is a licensed massage therapist.
The room we were in is in an office building right next to the entrance of a corridor. All I kept hearing over the 'soothing music' was the slamming of the main door to the corridor and the opening of the door while I'm laying on the table being oiled up like chicken on a Sunday dinner.
If the amount of oil is an indicator of a good massage, I had a great one but sadly the reality was this was the biggest and most epic fail of a massage I've ever had. I don't like saying any of this but this entire experience was truly horrible. Generally I'd talk to a business owner if there was one part of the experience I didn't enjoy. I don't leave reviews, I talk to the person. But it was so obvious to me that she didn't care that I didn't even bother.
I was lost in the area for 15 minutes, I get there and get lost in the maze of an office park and then get on the table and get blanket burn after hiking across a parking deck in stilettos and roaming through two office buildings.
Kat K. you are lucky you didn't get to experience this. There's no other feeling like 2nd degree blanket burn after walking across a parking deck in heels. Seriously Tai, you need to do better. read more
