I have been experiencing milia, dry, rough skin and hyperpigmentation at the top of my cheeks. I'm not sure if its from the friction of my mask - or detergent residue from my mask - or just the fact that we lose moisture and collagen as we age, but I was LONG overdue for a facial. I'd seen mention of the place on a Nextdoor post, so I decided to give them a call. Sonya, owner and sole proprietress, didn't answer my call but she called me back within the hour and texted me a list of her services and prices (the website was active but still under maintenance). I scheduled an appointment for later that same day.
Exterior / Interior
They are located in the Market Village plaza on the end closer to where Porchlight used to be. They are located right between Nothing Bundt Cakes and Mikkey's Retro Grill (the burger place). There was ample parking but her business signage has not yet been installed and her banner had fallen partially down due to the wind storm so I had to call her to figure out where she was - turns out I was staring right at her front door.
The interior was clean and I was taken back to my treatment room right away. I met two her dogs while I was there. One of them actually got a little barky during the treatment. Lol. Now I'm a doggy person, so I did not mind at all, but for people with pet allergies, I'm sure she will take the necessary precautions before rendering services.
Customer Service
Sonya (sp?) was very friendly, down-to-earth and kind. She has lovely skin, so that set me as ease seeing as I was coming in for a facial. Ladies - you know how it goes, hair stylists often have crazy looking hair, nail technicians usually have busted looking nails ... because they're too busy with clients to maintain their own hair and nails - but for estheticians - the last thing you want to see is bad skin! We chatted throughout the entire massage and facial - about everything from pets (she has SEVEN dogs!) and cooking.
Price / Value
I was calling about a facial, but Sonya advised me that she was offering a web special that gives you a free facial when you book a massage - so I opted for a Swedish massage with free facial. I thought it was very kind of her to point that out because, I wound up with a free service. And she was able to do both services same day. Also - regarding prices, if you go to the website looking for pricing information, you have to click on 'Book Now' to see the full list of services and prices.
Covid precautions
There was hand sanitizer at checkout, liquid soap and cloth towels in the bathroom. I did not wear my mask while on the table and Sonya was unmasked as well. I did not ask her vaccination status because even though I'm always curious about it when I'm going to be in close proximity with people - I understand that some people get very testy and defensive when asked - and people have VERY strong, polarizing opinions about the vaccine.
Overall
Overall, I enjoyed both the facial and massage. The facial is all natural, hypoallergenic and 100% edible. I did have some mild irritation in my left eye because some of the facial mask splattered in my eye, but it cleared up after 72 hours. My skin felt soft and looked refreshed afterwards. I didn't realize it, but she offers something called 'Thai Bodyworks' - which appears to be very similar to PNF stretch or Thai Yoga massage which I L-O-V-E. I hate that Motion Stretch stopped private 1:1 sessions. It really helped with my left knee pain. I will definitely reach out, in the future, to schedule a session.
