I have frequented Natural Grocers for decades. They continuously deliver outstanding service, well-presented products, and clean atmosphere. Reliable, diverse selection of fresh, high-quality, organic produce. They do NOT sell products that use Apeel or Organipeel preservatives, as most larger organic sellers do. Like other locations, employees have been great at this one. Natural Grocers tends to attract quality people because the founders and company brought exceptional integrity to the market. Highly recommend. Heads up: Bathroom access requires getting a passcode from the staff at this location, which is understandable for the area. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in town! They don't necessarily have the variety of some of the larger stores in town like MOC, but the store packs a punch! Also love that all of their produce is organic, and generally reasonably priced. Their rewards program is definitely worth it, and free. For the size, they have more supplement variety than a lot of the other stores. I hope the store never changes, but if it does, I hope it's only to get bigger! read more

I used to love this store. Now I only go if I absolutely have to. Over the years I've watched their prices skyrocket. I've watched thieves steal groceries, I told the cashier and she just shrugged her shoulders. This store does not stop thieves, what they do is raise prices. In the past year I've noticed lots of expired canned goods, dairy products and moldy produce. Sometimes you don't notice till you get home and then you have to make another trip back to return the item. I guess their prices are so high now that people are t buying as much and all the stock is expiring. read more

I haven't been back since earlier this year. I used to be a regular customer and called the vitamin department one day to ask if there was a particular product in stock. I waited ten minutes on hold for someone to pick up and ask me yet again where I was trying to reach, once the man at the vitamin section was put in the phone he was extremely rude to me and quite literally refused to look up the product because he basically said he was too busy and had other people to help. I called and told them what happened and was told the manager Heather would reach out, she never did. I am consistently very pleased with this store. I can easily spend the same amount here as I could across the street at Trader Joe's for the same amount of food. And by and large everything is organic and extremely high quality. Sometimes they have amazing deals for members as well. A few weeks back I got one dozen cage free eggs for $1.50. I've noticed many of their products are $2 or $3 cheaper than the same item, same brand at Market of Choice. It is small and never crowded which is really nice given how crazy things have been in the world lately. The cashiers are incredibly friendly. This store is the only one in all of Eugene to carry Now brand phosphatidyl serine, and at a ridiculously reasonable price! (Only $20 as opposed to $30 where I live!) The employees are also extremely cool and understanding; I had initially asked my grandmother to pick it up for me and she accidentally bought the wrong brand. They let us exchange it for Now, no problem, and we didn't even have the receipt. If only there were a Natural Grocers in the Bay Area (hint hint). It would do excellent business! read more

Natural Grocers recently ended their over a week long grand opening and now are officially open. I have mixed feelings about yet another Natural Food Store in Eugene, but will try to do an objective review. Kudos for Natural Grocers in for not using plastic or paper bags in Eugene or any of their other branches in the US that has saved 100 million plastic bags from landfills since 2009 (enough to go from NY to Los Angeles a whopping 6 times.) I think other Natural Food Stores, Grocery Stores and all stores should do the same. It doesn't cost that much to buy a canvas bag and other stores charge money for plastic or paper a dime, but should be $1 or more. Natural Grocers does sell canvas bags for $1 which is great to turn on people! Great that they have 100 percent organic produce and the products that they do carry are conscious. I feel that they lose points for putting all their bulk from grains to nuts etc in plastic bags. This is a paradox. Bring back the bulk bins. Even more mainstream grocery chains such as Fred Meyer, Safe Way, or King Soopers have bulk bins or the mainstream meets natural food store meets Whole Foods aka Market of Choice. I also feel that Natural Grocers is super paleo. Having been an ethical vegan for 15 years I can't help, but to to look at Natural Grocers extensive books for sale seeing only one vegan title and a few raw foods titles among the 90 percent paleo books. I definitely feel that Natural Grocers is better than Trader Joe's and all other mentioned grocery stores above, but still feel that living in Eugene I still choose to support Sundance, Grower's and Kiva. Sundance is several notches above Natural Grocers for the following reasons: *Better, fresher, and more diverse range of all organic produce including wild crafted * the store is nearly all vegetarian except for for a few cans of wild tuna *Less corporate and friendly vibe *Better bulk selection with labeling the specific source of all bulk items (super rare to see) * Amazing hot bar/cold bar that is nearly all vegan/all vegetarian (one of the best on West Coast) *Open earlier and latter I believe in a green economy and voting with one's dollar. So, Sundance and Grower's will get the majority of my votes but still feel occasionally supporting Natural Grocer's is a good balance. read more

I've been hearing a lot of hype about Natural Grocers, and opening a location in Eugene. About a week or so ago, I received a coupon in the mail for $10 off my order, along with a free reusable bag and a bottle of Vitamin D3. I've been trying to eat healthier overall, which, as most of you know, isn't always cheap. I'd heard Natural Grocers had more reasonable prices than most stores on organic and all-natural products, so I decided to give them a shot, as it had opened just a few days ago. Entering the store, a friendly woman welcomed everyone, and offered free samples of some peanut butter concoction (I don't remember what because I can't eat peanuts) and some cheddar rice crackers, which were pretty tasty. Looking to not spend a whole lot, I decided I'd just buy ingredients for nachos. Because, well, because nachos! One really cool thing about NG, is knowing anything you put in your cart is organic, or all-natural at the very least. Finding everything I was looking for was pretty easy, as the store is not all that large, and has a pretty basic layout. The one thing I had some difficulty finding was the guacamole, but an employee happily guided me to its location. Employees there were all very helpful, and very friendly. I never had a problem finding an employee to answer my questions. Prices overall seem to be cheaper than Market of Choice, Capella, etc; and comparable to the natural and organic items offered at Fred Meyer. Compared to Fred Meyer, shopping at NG is probably a much easier and more of a laid-back experience. A few price examples: All-natural free range boneless, skinless chicken breast: $6.29/ lb. Organic medium cheddar cheese: $4.55 for an 8-ounce block. Produce overall appears to be where NG stands out as far as pieces go. Most of the produce appears to be cheaper than anywhere else in town for organic. I didn't buy any, but the produce looks really fresh and the section well-organized. I did not peruse the section where the vitamins, supplements, etc are, but it takes up about 1/3 of the square footage if I was to guess. NG does not offer paper bags, so you'll need to bring reusable bags, or they have boxes you can use, like Costco does. Overall, I was quite impressed with NG, and look forward to continuing to shop there. read more

Clean new place with a lot of interesting brands including some common brands... I went in looking for chewing gum and chose the real good bubblegum and the epic peppermint gum. Both for a dollar The real good bubblegum is in a pink elongated wrapper similar to bubble Yum. Don't be fooled; although I give the manufactures credit for making a product that doesn't have dies or excessive sugar... The problem with niche foods like this is they fall short on flavor. This gum is sort of a tan caramel color and has absolutely no flavor. It was chewed out in less than five minutes. The peppermint gum is a better value. read more

Reasonable price, well labeled products, organics, all they need is some Rye Bread (80% Rye or more) which I could not find anywhere else either. This is a great store; I wish this store would not fall into the common trap, like other stores, for reward systems like at SafeWay, or idiotic discriminative prime member specials like at whole foods...This store is doing fine; they really don't need to compete with others with typical market tools of rewards and cards--just give us the lowest price all the time... Its a cheaper Whole Foods!! This place was amazing! They have a pretty large selection. It looks like a small store from the outside but you go in and its never ending. Most options are organic. If they are not, they are all natural, vegan, gluten free, or any other "health" option you might need. The prices are fantastic. I spent at least $30 less then my normal market bill. read more

Hands down, Natural Grocers has the cheapest organic produce in town. Always organic so you never have to come home and discover that you bought conventional produce by accident. Before this place opened, there was quite a bit of buzz about it. The rumor seemed to be that it would be a challenger to Whole Foods/Market of Choice. After visiting several times, I can assuredly confirm that this store is in no way a competitor to either of those chains. In fact, it has some glaring deficiencies that will prevent it from being a regular stop for me. For one, its meat/seafood selection is virtually nonexistent. In fact, I didn't find it until my second visit. It's tucked away on the upper level of a shelf in the refrigerated department, and despite the store's assurances that the offerings are fresh and/or local, they certainly don't look the part in their vacuum sealed packages. I would almost feel better buying organic or local at the Albertsons store next door. On top of that, this store offers no beer or wine of any kind, which seems odd, particularly as there is almost certainly a huge market for organic, kosher, or alternative alcoholic beverages in this town. However, this is not the place to find such elixirs. If you are gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or any of those other trendy varieties of food things that I seriously don't understand, this may be a good store for you. However, if you're an avowed omnivore like I am, this will probably be one of those places that you stop once in a blue moon for a weird vitamin or supplement that you can't find anywhere else (or because you just forgot it on your run to Costco). read more

Seems like every health food store around here need to have an eye-rolling, I-hate-it-here-but-I'll-be-dead-before-I-work-at-Costco type millennial, bereft of customer service acumen, cheerful demeanor, and general awareness of how off-putting they are. I LOVE this store. Decided to try it out when I could not find organic corn meal at 3 other place. So in I go and it's interesting, feels farmer's market-ish. I was expecting prices to be closer to Whole Foods. It is after all a place that caters to organic and natural products. Great surprise, many prices are GREAT!!!! They have a good selection of many things! Their bulk section is especially wonderful and extensive with the bonus of delightful prices. Not everything is amazing price wise but the bulk is amazing. Organic imported cinnamon for $3 for a large bag (like 10 ounces) Organic blue popcorn for $2 a pound. Very pleasant surprise and very helpful staff! I will be back. read more

Sometimes I forget about Natural Grocer but after going again today I think I'll be stopping by more often. I love their variety of wholesome and organic products. The produce section isn't that large but I did get organic avocados for 99 cents each! You can find big organic brands but local products as well. They have a great herbal/medicinal section with a ton of supplements and body care items. I noticed they had some decent sales going on so I would definitely recommend keeping up on the weekly specials to save some money. They have a room where classes are held but in not exactly sure what types of classes they are. I like the idea though! read more

Use to love the store but the cashier with latex gloves on tells me not to put my stuff on the belt and then got offended when I asked her not to touch my stuff with her gross gloves. This business sends me more unsolicited junk mail than any other, which definitely has me questioning their policies and practices. I probably would have done so anyway some they chose to set up right across from Trader Joe's rather than in an area underserved by healthier grocery stores. Many items here are significantly more expensive than elsewhere in town. The produce I've bought has often been lacking in flavor and every friggin' apple I ever got there was mealy. All fresh produce is organic. Weekly sales on popular items are oftentimes lower than competitors' prices. Most importantly, the current team of employees is incredibly approachable, knowledgable and friendly. I shop at multiple stores to get the best deals (Whole Foods, Trader Joes and CostCo) but Natural Grocers is my favorite, by far. *Bonus: Their price on Justin's peanut butter cups is always 30-50% lower than all other places in town. I am a fan of this stores products, I prefer them to Whole Foods. But I had a bad experience today. I approached the cash register and got in line. The cashier became agitated. She informed me that I had cut in line. I was standing at the first 6 foot social distancing marker. I turned around and there was a mother and her daughters on the isle at least 16 feet from the cash register and not visible from the side. They were looking at products on the isle. The family went to the only other cash register that was open and it was a good thing because the lady in front of me had $500 worth of groceries and the cashier was extremely slow. Still she had the time to run over to the family and inform them that she had seen the evil white man cut in front of them in line. She might be interested in knowing that I work 6 - 7 days a week at two essential worker jobs. I also work at a grocery store and I am a care giver for a severely disabled black man. So based on her stupid measure, I am holier than she is. But she is just a useless millennial slob, educated in social justice stupidity. read more

Realize that YOUR natural Grocer's prices may be different than ours. But in Eugene, OR the prices are LOWER in most cases than Trader Joe's. I like them. They have a liberal return policy that is about as good as it gets, especial when you are trying new products. Not everyone will do this, especially with things like cheese (it was non dairy cheese). They have a lot of items we can't find elsewhere. Staff people are helpful and they have a 'no bag' policy that I appreciate, because they GIVE BOXES. Plenty of reasons to shop here. read more

We are asking members of the community to step up and not support racial prejudice by not shopping at Natural Grocers. While shopping in Natural Grocers today, a man came up to one inch behind me; I could feel his breath on the back of my neck. I moved to another isle and he followed me so close he was almost touching me. I moved away from him to different sections of the store four times and he continued to tailgate me, about an inch away. Again I moved to another isle. Then he quietly snuck up behind me; I felt his breath on the back of my neck. I quickly moved away again; as I turned off the isle I saw him glaring at me with an angry threatening stare. I told Heather the manager what had happened. She said my mask was not tight enough (if my mask were any tighter it would cut off the circulation in my head), and ignored what I told her about the older man accosting me. She ordered me to put on one of their masks, in a militant manner. I have a very sensitive nose and can smell the CV infection. It spreads primarily through human waste, so putting up honey buckets will assure the spread. I once wore the type of disposable mask the manager was ordering me to put on; it smelled of CV infection. I told the manager that I would spend my money at other stores. She ignored what I explained to her about the older man violating the six foot distancing rule, so I explained it to her again, and she did nothing about it. I asked her to talk to him, and she refused. Why do I always get harassed by store employees, while white people violate the rules without mention? I am Irish with some Oregon Native American ancestry (my ancestors lived here for over 40,000 years), so I have a little melanin in my skin - not pure white. A certain type of Oregonian will assume I am Mexican. They shouldn't discriminate against Mexicans either. My daughter is diagnosed on the autistic spectrum, and had trouble keeping her mask on straight; immediately there is the Natural Grocer mask enforcer harassing us throughout the store. When the cashiers make me bag my own groceries while streams of white customers squeeze past us in the isle, bumping and jostling, rubbing up against us they stand and ignore it. Organic ginger and every other store in town is $11 a pound or more it's $3.89 a pound and natural groceries, produce prices are amazing! They don't carry everything and they have some weird stuff but it still highly recommended! read more

ALL the produce is organic - how awesome is that?! They have a good varied selection too. They carry my favorite Genesis drink. Unfortunately, it must be everyone else's favorite also (apple ginger) because they are often sold out. Incredible selection of oils, supplements, and vitamins. No matter how obscure the health item you may be searching for, it is likely you could find it here. For the most part the staff are super helpful, nice and friendly. Some are quite knowledgeable . Where do I begin... When you buy the last of something, fat chance it will be restocked by the next trip, if at all. Prices are way high. Just saw a bottle of Cranberry Juice for over $10! Wtf? Staff is less than enthusiastic. With the exception of two. The girl with the dreads is always helpful. And either Travis or Trevor that checks us out is pretty good. Absolutely NO ONE has any sense of urgency. Takes forever to check out. Never had to re-slide my payment card because of timing out like i always do here. Checkers think they need to strategically put each item in a place. Even taking things out of bags and rearranging them. And after assuring them we have plenty of bags and aren't particular where things go. It ridiculous. Gave them 2 stars because at least they carry Organic and Non GMO products. All I can say is.... I love this place!!! Their service is excellent and their prices are MUCH better than Super Supplements down the road. Not only that, they offer more of a variety. I made the mistake of buying a bottle of vitamins in Super Supplements and when I went in, with my receipt to exchange it I was treated horribly. With Natural Grocers it was easy. I purchased an essential oil burner that was too small and they gladly exchanged it, no questions asked. Their prices for grass fed organic meats are very competitive as well. Poor Quality, overpriced, disappointing, friendly staff and large selection of supplements The free samples and coupons did their job and got me to come back several times. At my first visit, I was happy to see new yogurt brands but disappointed to discover that they have no beer or wine. I tried a new yogurt (from New York) and was shocked by its unpleasant clashing flavors that would not taste good with anything. I threw it away, which is saying something because I am quite frugal. I was disappointed again when I bought squash for too much money and had it mold within a few days. The snack crackers, tortilla chip and hot-dogs were poor quality and over priced. They do carry "Taste of the Wild" catfood but for a much higher price then mini-pet mart. I did like the Pro-Bar that I bought there, which I hadn't had before, but this is not enough for me to place this store high on my list for preferred grocery stores. read more

I have been to Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and natural grocer the prices at natural grocers are way better then Whole Foods. I went to both stores in one day and couldn't even believe it. Whole Foods has really good vegan cheese for 10.99 the same cheese same size is 8.99 at natural grocers. Over all the prices are way better then Whole Foods. A lot of the reviews being left are by people who are probably not vegan or vegetarian and they don't understand that Whole Foods prices are marked way up. I personally don't care about the politics of the store I care about the prices. A lot of the bad reviews I see her don't make a lot of sense. Like I don't care if the employees can be friends or not. read more
