Great place! Leanna creates a strong community here in Natomas that makes sweating together that much more bearable than doing it on my own. When I'm in the area, I am here read more

I don't think this studio is meant for beginners. Two of the four instructors I worked with would frequently make condescending and critical comments. You're chastised for failing to keep up at any point and for drinking water outside of "water breaks," which were often only once, halfway through class. If you break a rule or make a mistake, such as a dumbbell slipping out of your hand and moving your foot so it hits the floor instead of your bare foot, you will be called out for it in front of other participants, and you will be reprimanded for it again multiple times throughout class. The only positive thing I have to say about the studio is that Shirley was very encouraging and that if you are advanced, the unlimited monthly price is reasonable. read more

Came back to the studio after a year of not practicing and I am so happy to be back. The studio has great and kind staff and getting into practice is a super simple process. I can not recommend this studio enough. The classes are very straight forward brikram and Pilates. Directions from instructors are clearly demonstrated to ensure the best practice for your body, if your looking for structure this is the best place for that. I can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to see my overall fitness results as this type of practice is the best way to shed fat and water weight I always see the best results when I incorporate hot yoga into my practice. Thank you natomas yoga studio ! read more

The worst experience I've had at a studio, the owner is rude and distracts me from my studies.

100% recommend! This was my first Bikram/hot yoga and Leanna was SO warm and welcoming and set an overall tone that is unmatched. She has nailed pushing you to push yourself, while leaving space for taking a break and being gentle with yourself. And she is so encouraging, and really helps you understand small adjustments to help you get into your poses. The class was definitely challenging, and I was scared to try. But if I can do it you can too. One unexpected perk was how helpful and supportive everyone in class is, too. I felt like I died and was reborn. I'll be back. Thank you!! read more

I went yesterday after buying a groupon and the owner greeted me very warmly. She was very friendly and encouraging. I've gone to two classes: the Hot Trifecta, which was difficult and fun and I enjoyed the music and the incredible instructor and then today I went to Yin Yoga which is what I had imagined yoga to be deep stretching, meditative breathing, and a calming atmosphere. I can't say which class I liked best but I know that each one will help my mind and body in different ways. I'm very excited to continue trying different classes and to find the right mix for me. read more

This was my first time with yoga! Did the one month pass and I enjoyed it, it was a great experience.

Hot Pilates! ‍ Greg, this was most intense, hardest challenging class I've taken of yours. Forget about 3 sets, it's all about the 4th set now!!! Was able to mentally stay distracted, until the very end. There is no place/time limit for grief, all of sudden it crawls upon you, found myself crying heavily. Good cry is a part of grieving process. Don't hold yourself back, I tried to stay strong, then finally let it go.... Both Ghia and Greg, along with rest of my blessed yoga instructors and my healing tribe of yogis are a blessing to me. Thank you for being there for me...love you Leanna! This yoga studio is awesome especially Leanne's pilates classes. It's the best of both world. You get a good workout plus good yoga stretches. The studio is clean and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. read more

My experience at natomas yoga was interesting compared to experiences at other yoga studios. I would say to make sure you are okay with all of the studio rules before taking a class here because they are different than other studios. The first rule I found interesting is that you can only drink water when the instructor tells you to even in hearted (107 F) classes. They normally let you drink water every 4 poses. The next rules is that if the heat is too much for you may not step out of the class. They are very strict with these rules. Also their heated classes is with the lights fully on and the instructor will only let you do the poses they say the way they want you to do them, unlike other studios where instructors let you feel your body and do what feels best. Everyone has different preferences but having classes with these rules is not my preference. On a different note everyone was nice and welcoming I just prefer heated classes in a darker room where I can drink water as I please and listen to my body. read more

This is the absolute best yoga studio for Bikram yoga, or any yoga! Unfortunately I moved away and no longer practice here, but I miss it so much. Leanna and the rest of the team are all amazing instructors and correct people without being rude about it. Love you, natomas yoga studio! read more

Horrible class!! Ill never go there ever again I'm not even from natomas I was invited by a family member to attend a class. Right from the beginning it was bad... I was feeling faint and fell back to child's pose and the instructor told me to sit up that it would help...The instructor was rude, I thought it was supposed to be relaxing but not with this lady teaching the class I was so nervous my back got tight I pulled a muscle..I was embarrassed during the entire class because she kept calling me out. I couldn't do anything right according to her. I was forced to rent a towel ! I don't even sweat! It was so stressful! Waste of my hard earned money read more

Gosh it's been way to long! Had the day off to celebrate my son's birthday and I thought what a better way to start the day than with some hot yoga. It's the thing I've been missing from my workout routine for quite some time now. Being a yogi for 20+ years I've fluctuated between one yoga studio to another to try out new classes, styles and teachers. It's always exciting when you find the perfect fit. Today I got lucky and stumbled in off the street to find Laurie filling in for the regularly scheduled teacher. I found her Yin class to be just what I needed on this particular day. She was a very thorough and easy to follow instructor which I appreciate. Isn't it funny how it seems to be that the universe will provide exactly what you need right at the perfect time. I was tighter than an unopened can. Oh boy did I need that Yin! The Yin class was a series of very long held deep poses. Really what everybody could probably use a lot more of. Lots of stretching and maybe not as demanding as Bikram. Try telling my sore muscles that the next day. Any how, I'm accustomed to taking the Bikram classes here as this was really the only options in the studio's infancy stage. Nowadays as they've grown they've branched out into other types such as Silent, Yin and Pilates. I'm very happy about this and excited to try all the classes and current instructors. Great studio and teachers. Best one in Natomas! Well actually the only one in Natomas but there are no complaints here. Nice studio with all you'd expect. There are showers and cubby holes and benches outside if you need to take a break. (Just kidding) You can make the 100+ degree class just hydrate extra good beforehand and oh yeah don't forget your towel (like I did) to mop up your sweat that's coming from places you didn't know could sweat from. It's all good and plenty good for you! read more

Natomas Yoga Studio - Perfect start to the day! - Yoga Near Me - Sacramento, California

I'm new to the community but not new to yoga. I searched this business on yelp. Excited to attend as they had almost the same as my last studio had. I purchased a month pass before hand so I'd be set for the month of unlimited attendance. When I arrived the front desk mentioned I had not paid so I continued to fill out paperwork. To my surprise the price was different from what was listed online. I was concerned but still followed through. I was also reminded that I needed to cancel before 30 days because I would automatically be placed on membership which I was concerned about but thought let's try this studio out. This would determine if I'd want to be a student at the studio. I attended class and WOW! I was astonished and Nauseated with the smells of the studio. I know everyone sweats but it was a stinch of more than fresh sweat. The floors had carpet which in all the studios I've been through in all my travels I've NEVER seen a studio with carpet. I think this is what holds the stinch. Nonetheless, it unsanitary. The bathroom had just cubby holes which also made me uneasy to leave my belongings unlocked. The showers didn't look like they were cleaned often. All in all, I was extremely disappointed at my 1 st experience. I only attended that day and didn't bother to be refunded the unlimited month fee I paid for as a new student. I hope this helps the owner focus on this and wish the studio best. I'm sad that this didn't work out and my transparency was a must to let future students aware of the condition of this studio. read more

This studio is a mixed bag. To start with a positive, the facility is simply one of the most beautiful I've seen in my many years of practice. And the more traditional Bikram style class I previously took here was a good experience - - similar to what others have expressed to me. Now on to my recent "silent" class. I recently took a so-called "silent" class, which concerned me for two reasons: 1) it was anything but silent (which took me out of the mindful state and worked against a positive mind/body connection) and 2) it was unnecessarily not a positive or constructive yoga experience, and rather was a "yell-fest". The amount of spoken words in the silent class far exceeded those of any Bikram or other hot yoga I've ever attended anywhere in the world, owing to the steady stream of pop love songs continually broadcast throughout the class at volumes impossible to ignore. (When I practice yoga, I don't want to hear songs about how someone is hoping to hook up, or how they hope they can spend the rest of their life with the person they are falling in love with.) About the constant criticism of customers in the class: the feedback given to students was akin to that of a Hollywood cooking show or military drill sergeant, were the person in charge yells at one participant after another, all in a loud and scolding tone--which is simply not healthy or appropriate. Three people volunteered their similar shock and bewilderment to me after the class was over, with each one also feeling unclear about who the steady stream of wholly negative comments were even aimed at. I'm hoping the instructor was just having a very tough day (it happens to the best of us-we all make mistakes!). Clearly the instructor had a lot of passion, and I hope the class I recently took was just an unfortunate anomaly. I'll be asking others about their experiences going forward, and if they are positive I will update this review to reflect any potential future progress. We all want small businesses to succeed, and especially those intended to improve lives in a positive and constructive way. read more

I've never been to such a rude place. I went to go to a hot pilates class and the lady at the front desk who was also the instructor was very rude and short. She didn't seem to want to help me for my first time trying to attend a class. She then locked my friend out of the building even though she was right outside. She also charged my card even though I didn't take her class and left before it even started because her attitude was so horrible. She hasn't responded to my request for a refund either. I will literally never come back here. If I could give this 0 stars I would. read more

I'm on a hot yoga high today. I had dedicated at least three days a week to my practice at another studio before everything shut down and before I moved. Recently, I began to feel my sciatica coming back, my lower back getting tight, and my mental state declining. So after being out of my practice for over a year I finally took a leap to try out Natomas Yoga Studio. I went in early to sign up and was greeted by Scott (I believe that's what his name was). He was incredibly nice and the process to sign up was quick and painless. The facility is very clean and well put together. The class was a 60 min session which was nice to get me acclimated and the overall instruction was great. I wish there were more early morning classes but I'll make it work. I can't wait until my next class because today I've been in such a peaceful state, which I haven't felt in a long time. read more

My wife first got in here when it had opened up. I followed a few weeks after. I am now a regular. Hitting this place about twice a week. Depending on how many people are there practice usually starts on time. There are plenty of times when you can come in and a varying group of instructors all with their own flow. The room is very large with lots of mirrors to check your form. There is also a water fountain outside the room to fill up after a practice (some places charge for water, here no). For those who don't think they are in good enough shape to do yoga in a 104 degree room, don't worry, there are people of all shapes and fitness levels in here, there is no reason to feel self conscious. read more

There's a variety of bikram classes here. There's 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and a silent bikram class. The silent bikram is geared towards intermediate and advanced students. The PiYo classes are my favorite. It's a combination of hot yoga and Pilates. Make sure to grab weights at the beginning of class which is located at the front of the studio. The class begins with a breathing exercise followed by rag doll and triangle. Then it gets into the fun stuff with weights on the mat. The second portion of the class is all about toning and core. Be prepared for an ab workout! The only reason why I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of the smell. The floor is carpet so the sweat really absorbs. I get use to the smell after awhile but the postures that require laying down on the mat isn't as tolerable. I never thought I'd be so scared to do superman pose. There's cubbies in the restrooms but there isn't a lock. The studio is locked when the class starts so make sure to get there early and on time. read more

If you never tried hot yoga before, you have to come here. I love this studio. They're clean, welcoming, and really good at teaching you if you're a beginner. There's a lot of space and in fact, the classes are so popular that the studio does fill up fast. I appreciate the cleanliness of the locker rooms and how there's also a water station. I did a one month trial and went consistently every few days and I improved a lot on my postures. I'll be buying the multi pass package because the monthly subscription seems a bit too high if you don't plan on consistently going. I think the multi pass package is good for those who want to do hot yoga once a week. read more

Love this local yoga studio. Only one room but several different types of classes. Would like if there were more time options but most are during a my work hours 7-5 so it's hard to make classes except for if you're a stay at home. Each class and instructor has a different difficulty level but all classes are open to all. No judging mostly so you'll feel comfortable as a beginner which I was. All other students in class are approachable and friendly. Highly recommend for a drop in! Pilates and Yin are my favorite. Wish they had more late night and weekend class options. read more

It's a year or so later, and I just wanted to double down on my 5-star rating for this studio. I just returned after an absence. I had the warmest welcome back. Leanna practically hugged me (she might have; I can't remember). I felt missed. I can only speak to who I have practiced with, but Leanne, Carol, Shirley and Shelly are wonderful. The room and bathrooms and clean. The other customers are kind. Lots of free parking in the huge parking lot. Mats and towels available. Various classes offered (original, vinyasa, hot pilates, condensed original, etc), and the classes are zoomed live. Positive vibes in the room. Instructors will challenge and support you. Just to touch on a couple other reviews that knocked stars because of the timing of their own attendance - yes, they lock the front door to protect the class and our things during the class. No, they won't let you in late. That policy is clearly written on their website, on the Groupon, etc. People come 10-15 minutes early to begin their meditative state of mind, classes start ON THE DOT, and the exercises go until the very end, so no, they won't disrupt the experience of an entire claas to let you in late, and it would be rude to their customers already inside to do so. And yes, you might test the patience of the teachers if it is your first time and you don't come early - they have to sign you up, sign you in, get the waiver signed, get you started... all while registering other people coming in. I'm just not sure why people are upset about that. And you shouldn't be able to leave a bad review for a business because of issues related to your own menstrual cycle. I just don't get it. I pulled into the parking lot one minute late one time and went running up. The door was locked, AS IT SHOULD BE. I certainly didn't get upset that they didn't stop the entire class to let me in (put my shoes and things away, find a place in the room, set up my water/mat, etc) because of my timing. Rather, it was gentle reminder to myself - leave earlier to get there on time. (As my grandmother said: early is on time, on time is late). Bottom line: Get there early, and don't forget to smile and have a good time (as Leanna and Shirley say in their classes). I can't imagine learning this practice anywhere else. read more

I have practiced Bikram at two other studios including Yoga Loka and Arden Hot Yoga and I would have to say that my experience at Bikram Yoga Natomas has been the best. They far exceeded my expectations. I went in the other day to redeem my Living Social deal (10 classes for $25). I went about 30 minutes before the start of the class to sign waivers, get a feel for the studio, change and get a space for my mat. Brian was working that day and was very friendly, personable. He got me into the computer and showed me where the ladies' restroom/changing room was, where the studio was, and so forth. The restroom/changing room is very large and clean. Lots of shelves to place your belongings and I think there was even a shower and 3-4 toilets, nice mirrors. The studio itself is very large and open. The largest Bikram studio I've ever been to with mirrors! Brian was also the instructor and did a wonderful job with queuing all the various poses, reminding us to not think about the head (It's HOT) and demonstrating the challenging poses. He was extremely motivating. I like his energy! Overall, great studio, great changing spaces, lots of parking available and friendly staff! I will be back! read more

Because of an unpleasant first visit, I never returned again despite getting a Groupon for a month of unlimited sessions. When I first walked in, nobody was at the front desk and I wanted to register my Groupon that day. I stood there for some time until someone finally walked over and asked if I had been helped yet. I said I hadn't. She proceeded to help me get registered and asked if I was going to be doing yoga that day. This next part is TMI so don't read on if you're not ready for it! I told her I had just started my menstruating that day and didn't feel comfortable with it. She sneered at me and said "You're human, you're not dead." I was taken aback by that. I told her I'm not usually comfortable doing yoga while menstruating and thought it would also disturb others. With much attitude, she said "Honey, you're human but not dead. Will it be your best day of yoga? No. Look, I own this place. Do you see me making excuses and skipping out for a week every month just because I'm on my period?" Wow. You know, that was my personal preference and I didn't need to be chastised for it. She made me feel very unwelcome and gave me a lot of crap for that. I didn't want to return to such a place again if I was going to be judged like that. I didn't feel like doing yoga that day, end of story. I didn't need to get so much attitude for that. Sadly, I sacrificed my money just so I could be given judgment. Lesson learned. read more

The customer service is not the greatest!!! I'm new to the area and noticed they had an one month unlimited yoga deal going on and decided this would be great since I was looking for a local yoga studio. I called multiple times to get help on registering for class because I kept getting an error and thought maybe the class was full. I finally get ahold of receptionist at 5:20pm. I told her I'm looking to sign up for Trifecta class at 5:30pm and I wanted to ensure the class was not full. She stated sure just come on down and we'll handle everything at the desk. I arrive at the studio at 5:33 the doors are locked. The receptionist never stated I lock my doors when the class starts exactly at 5:30. She never communicated anything except come down and I'll take care of you. It's was a waste of time and GAS since prices are astronomically HIGH!! This deserved a review due to the fact I made sure to call prior to me driving down to ensure I would be assisted properly and they failed to do that. Error photo attached. read more

I purchased the one-month unlimited access Groupon for Natomas Hot Yoga as I have always wanted to try it. I specifically picked Natomas Hot Yoga because it was different from the other hot yoga studios I've seen. I wanted to try hot yoga but not in front of an audience of people walking past the building. Natomas Hot Yoga has a room within their studio where you practice, so it feels more private. I fell in love the minute I walked through the door. It had been a long and stressful day. Working out was the last thing I wanted to do. As I walked into the studio, the peace hit me immediately. I was warmly greeted and welcomed. I was shown where the locker room was and given a towel and yoga mat. I was a bit apprehensive that I wouldn't be able to do all the moves and keep up with the class. What a joy it was that the instructors take the time to help me adjust and find not only the correct positioning but to a level I was able to achieve. The tranquil music really does help to take my mind off my day and my worries. As soon as my one-month trial was up, I signed up for an annual membership. The following month I broke my foot. The owner, Leanna Ketelsen was amazingly understanding and more concerned with my physical health then my monthly payment and the legally binding annual membership I had just signed. She discarded my membership and said to take my time to heal and come back when I was ready. I had foot surgery and a few months of healing and now I am back at hot yoga. It felt like going home. I'm still a bit restrictive in what I can do, but it really is my get-away. My yoga family is accepting of any size, shape and ability. I have taken my niece, my friends, my co-workers and my husband to yoga with me. It has become a part of who I am and what I do. The atmosphere is encouraging, friendly and welcoming. I am so appreciative of the genuine concern each instructor has for everyone in the class and the encouragement they provide. It's the first time I've ever left a fitness class that an instructor has noted the progress I've made and not just a blanket "good job" to everyone who is there. It's individual. It's caring. It's my place with my people. read more

This yoga studio is great, it's clean, everyone is very nice and supportive. I'd recommend it for everyone.

I've had great experiences with all of the teachers at Bikram Yoga Natomas but Becky S. is my favorite. They are all supportive and encouraging in the most gentle way. I met the owner once as well (I forget her name) and she was very welcoming. This isn't "touchy feely" yoga and there aren't a lot of frills; no one will reference your heart center and there's no child's pose. Instead, you will be challenged to hold a series of different poses and concentrate on your breathing and challenging yourself to stay in the room for the duration of the class. Everyone is genuine here, and focused on helping you improve your practice. I should also note that the instructors refrain from correcting you with their hands and instead guide the class through the poses verbally for the most part. If you are new to yoga (bikram or otherwise) I highly recommend that you try a class. The first time it will be brutal, but you will feel amazing afterwards. Remember to bring a mat, towel, and plenty of water. read more

This studio is not for everyone. I have been to Bikram studios in southern CA and Washington DC and this studio is very casual. My experience here consisted of practitioners talking before the class (in loud voices- while I was trying to meditate and prepare myself for the practice) and talking during the session. It was difficult to concentrate. Also, I attended a class where the instructor changed the routine. If you follow the practice, and enjoy it for the mental and physical challenge and appreciate the discipline of the practice, then this place is probably not for you. But if you are looking for a studio that is casual and laid back, you should definitely come here. Overall the facility is well maintained and very clean but I cant get over the fact that its not very discipline and silence does not seem to be as important. read more

After grunting, huffing and cursing, three sessions into it and I am hooked. I never ever tasted my own sweat until this bikram yoga came. Ive been doing yoga (beginner, that is) and I do know the benefits of the mind-body connection crap, so it was not a hard sell when I saw the multi-colored sign. The website warned you of staying at the 105 degree room for 90 minutes, so I said what the heck. Paid $40 for the first month introductory. Came in Day1. Yes there were guys in speedos, totally comfortable being almost naked. Then the party started... now I wished I am on my sports bra and cotton shorts. I was sweating like I was on the threadmill for an hour. I thought I am going to pass out.. I sat like 10x japanese meditation style so not to be thought of as a woos.. but somehow I get back to it. Day 2: survived another 90 minutes in the room, did the first poses and did not challenge myself... this time at least I am smiling like I was on crack. Day 3: Stopped only 5x, then got back up. And so for the next 10 sessions I am just gonna stay in the room and pose at my own pace ... after all, its only yoga! Helpful hints before trying bikram yoga: 1) You know your LEFT and your RIGHT 2) You know your BODY PARTS 3) You know UPWARDS and DOWNWARDS 4) You can follow AUDITORY instructions. You cant see your instructor while your head is upside down facing the other side of the room. 5) You like the sauna After that, you are so good to go !!! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I've been coming to this yoga studio consistently for a little over a year. I started coming here with a friend and we both started with the unlimited classes for a month with the Groupon coupon. Mind you, i have never done yoga in my life... EVER so doing it for the first time in a hot room was a bit overwhelming, I was SWEATING buckets but it felt SO GOOD and I LOVED IT! That's what bikram (HOT) yoga is all about!!! Throughout the class the teachers give very specific instructions and inform you of the benefit of every single posture. Personally the positive impact that coming here has made in my life is unmeasurable. The benefits I've gained from yoga have extended to my life outside of the class. I've become more confident in myself and my body. I've learned to love myself and overall i am stronger, toned, and much more flexible of course. I can go on and on but long story short it's changed my life and I don't see myself ever stopping. Furthermore, I appreciate the professionalism and also must say that the cleanliness of this studio is on point. All the instructors are amazing and I highly recommend anyone to join and change their lives in the only way yoga can read more
