This studio offers so many different kinds of classes. There is something for every level of practice. Vanessa is great for educating the poses and always encourages you to try something new. Janna's classes bring the fire and the grounding. Jesse's classes are all fire and fun music. Cate offers a wonderful yin class that has a bit of spice. Alma heals all with her nidra class. This studio is a great community that welcomes all. They even have pay what you can classes. There is plenty of parking close by. There's also showers available if you need. I haven't been to Solfire Yoga since Covid. When my friend invited me to join her on Sunday community class, I took it as a sign to get back to yoga. If you haven't been to Solfire Yoga, it is a nice yoga studio on J and 26th St. with one large ish room. There are cubbies to put your personal items in the front and in the back. If you don't have a yoga mat or forget to bring one, they do have extras for you to borrow. I believe every Sunday they offer this 60 minutes Power Vinyasa class in the heated room using infrared heaters. This is a community offering, which means you pay what you can. The room was packed and I was literally touching the person next to me. The instructor was great. I think her name was Julie? Her instructions was clear and the pace was perfect for me. I don't consider myself a yogi. I know the basics and I was able to follow through without a problem. I think its suitable for beginners. At the end of the class, I was drenched, covered in sweats and felt so good! 5 stars for the instructors, facility and the community offering, but I have to say I will probably not take the same class again. It was way too packed for me, like sardine packed. Also, as soon as I entered the room, there was a strong BO and the smell lingered throughout the entire class. I almost wanted to vomit at one point. I know this has nothing to do with the establishment. I'm mentioning it because I'm hoping people can be more considerate about their hygiene. I've been putting off reviewing Solfire because where do I even start!!! There are no words to explain how much this studio and community mean to me. If you are looking for a strong community, challenging but balanced classes, a great workout, and a no frills kind of space and vibe, this is the place for you. It is a studio that really just lets the yoga speak for itself. No frills, no Pilates princess influencer vibes, no white and beige walls. It's cozy, homey, welcoming, and everything a new or seasoned Yogi would want in their studio. But don't let the friendly faces and colorful space fool you. The kindest studio I have been to! The staff is super friendly and the vibes are very welcoming. They even left affirmations in our cubbies to read at the end of class. I took the heated vinyasa yoga class through ClassPass. It was my group's first time at this studio and off bat we loved how cute it was. Definitely an aesthetically pleasing vibe. We went at about 7pm on a weekday, and parking was very accessible (and free!). The class was about an hour and fifteen. The instructor, Bridget, was phenomenal. She was very helpful in correcting forms/poses (with permission) and making sure everyone in class was comfortable. I also really loved the pacing of the practice. This place changed my life. I have been an athlete for around 10 years, but knew I lacked mobility and discipline. Hot yoga with instructors Donna and Alex have been phenomenal for my lifestyle. Their classes teach the art of being intentional, whether it be with each movement, or even breathing (which is something I took for granted and forgot to do at times). Hot yoga has enabled me to reach new heights with rock climbing, basketball, pickleball, golf, and everything I do now. I have been more productive in my days, as well as intentional with my outlook in life. This is a place I will come back to whenever I am available, and look forward to doing hot yoga now every week. If you are interested in trying it out, come try their $50 1 month trip, which lets you take unlimited classes in that first month. Love Solfire so much it's hard to put into words! My connection to Solfire goes back to 2019 when I had just moved to Sac after college. Solfire was walking distance from my apartment so I decided to try out their 30 day intro student special. This was my first exposure to heated yoga and I became hooked! Then covid hit soon after, and I didn't step back into Solfire until January 2023, which is when I became much more consistent with my practice. After moving out of Sac for a few years, I moved back again and renewed my Solfire membership. The studio is as friendly and welcoming as ever, and I very much look forward to my almost daily class. The instructors are very talented and I leave class feeling energized (and very very sweaty) every time. I also took one of their hot pilates classes recently which I believe is being offered the first Saturday of each month and oh boy was it a workout! Compared to other yoga studios I have been to, I appreciate that it was not over crowded. The class itself was challenging yet gentle enough to flow all the way through. I love this studio! All of the staff are so inviting and each teacher has their own individual teaching style. There is a beautiful mural inside the studio, 6 heaters on the walls, and a good sound system. They also have a second yoga room for workshops and yin type classes (the studio mainly teached power vinyasa flow). The teachers offer hands on assists, but they give students the opportunity to opt out of being assisted at the beginning of class (in a way that doesn't single them out). Another great thing about the studio is that the offer free matt and towel use/rental for their members. Solfire is very welcoming and feels like a second home. read more

Came along with my daughter and had such a good workout. The atmosphere is relaxed allowing for self focus. The instructor was very good with a warm welcoming voice. I'm not a regular yoga participant but I like the warm temperature of the room. I have arthritis so the warmth feels really good. Solfire is my favorite yoga studio in Sacramento. It offers a range of vinyasa-style, slightly heated yoga classes. All the instructors are amazing and knowledgeable. I've enjoyed every class. None of the teachers talk too much (sometimes yoga teachers think they automatically have a platform to talk about their lives). The studio is clean and nice on the inside. The hottest class is not too hot (and I'm pretty sensitive to the heat). I particularly like this studio because they have a healthy mix of the "spiritual" part of yoga and the actual exercise part. I'm pretty critical of yoga studios and I think this one provides the best strength and cardio workout. On top of being the best studio, they used to have the best rate for students and teachers. Unfortunately they recently increased their student/teacher drop in rate to $20 per class, which is not competitive anymore. Solfire, PLEASE go back to your competitive student/teacher pricing. I really love the yoga nidra class here, the teacher is amazing but unfortunately the studio is so unwelcoming with terrible policies that I had to quit going! I have health issues and at this point can only attend yoga nidra classes and last time I went in the girls at the front desk asked me if that was the only class I went to and then giggled. Honestly it's like the vibe of starting high school for the first time with this studio. That's the energy. This is the perfect studio if you're really in shape and young but if you are new to yoga and need a friendly welcoming environment I wouldn't recommend this studio. Also when my credit card was stolen and it took me a day to update my card with them they charged me a $10 fee so definitely watch out for that if you're in auto pay. Wouldn't recommend auto pay. Wouldn't recommend this studio. Asha yoga is a much better vibe, welcoming, great classes and instructors. And no dumb $10 policies. To update my review: Solfire notified me on the 24th that my payment didn't go through (because my card got stolen and I got a replacement card). I emailed them back within 24 hours asking about the $10 fee for changing cards. And then as soon as they responded I called the studio within minutes. I've attached the photos of the emails with time stamps. And the way that the studio has handled this whole situation really sheds a light on their customer service. read more

Absolutely LOVE this yoga studio! The instructors are awesome and will help you with form if you need it, you won't feel uncomfortable if you are new and they play great music, the sound system is nice. I really dislike yoga studios where the instructors don't play music, it's awkward and uncomfortable. The size of this studio is perfect, and I always feel comfortable and welcome. I don't live close by the studio though it's worth the drive to come when I can. I even brought my very conservative and masculine boyfriend; his eyebrows were raised, and he was extremely skeptical...guess what! He loved it too! Yeehaw! I started attending classes during the pandemic. I wanted to find an outdoor class I could do and still stay safe - That's where I found yoga in the park! The class is taught by Dwight who is a lovely man who always makes me smile. I don't always get out to a class but I try to make it out once a month. Something about doing yoga in nature makes me feel more centered. Dwight's class is definitely on the faster pace side, so I recommend him if you have some moves already down, and not a beginner. He'll definitely make you feel like you worked your body! read more

The instructors seem ok. The one yoga room they have gets really really hot like Bikram. Really... it does like 80 to 90 degrees. I have health issues and I cannot be in a room that hot. Solfire definitely lit a fire in my soul. Or at least a nice warm glow. I tried Solfire through their 30 days for $30 trial (bonus: you can borrow towel and yoga mat for free). The space is not too small, the instructors are diverse and all have been great. I think my favorite might be the sunday morning class, where i feel like i'm feeding my body and my soul. My only (minor) gripe is that i don't like the music that's played in the Tuesday class (Eminem one time) but to each his/her own. I've tried a few different yoga studios in Sacramento through their new student special, and Solfire definitely ranks as my top favorite. There's a small parking lot in the back, and sometimes i risk parking by the dental office if it's after 6. read more

I'm really disappointed in my experience at Sol Fire yoga. I've done yoga on and off since I was in high school and love going to yoga studios. Since they are expensive I tend to only book memberships to yoga studios when they are on a deal. When I saw the 30 for 30 day deal I jumped on the experience. I have done Bikram yoga at two different studios before in the past. My mistake was assuming all hot yoga would be similar to Bikram. Lesson learned here. I attended the all levels class and was sent nearly in a panic attack. The room was PACKED. I mean my mat touching the person on both sides of my yoga mat packed. I could feel the person behind me breathing on me. It was disgusting. On top of that the EDM music, mixed with no instructor actually leading the class, I had no idea what we were doing most of the time. I would look around to other classmates (the 70 of us packed in a small room) and everyone seemed to be doing a different thing. I was confused and anxious the entire time. The cherry on top was when one of the instructors began massaging me with no permission before hand to do so. I was so uncomfortable and miserable. It was such a different experience then the other hot yoga I had been too which was calm and allowed me to get into deep stretches. This was so fast paced I was dizzy and confused. Not relaxing at all. Since I had already paid 30 dollars to come for the month I forced myself to try another class. I tried the Yin yoga and while it was a much slower pace (almost too slow?) I was at least somewhat relaxed. However every time I looked up from a move the yoga instructor was texting on her phone. To me that seems very unprofessional and again put me on edge. While this class was more bearable, I didn't quite enjoy it and didn't return to try any other instructors or classes. While I could have continued to try other instructors I got the vibe of the place and didn't feel the need to come back. Sorry SolFire you didn't set my soul on fire. I was sick of myself being a bed potato after work and wanted to do something productive. I've asked around and heard from my colleague that Solfire is bombdiggity and decided to give it a try. (*** If you are already a member sign up for the Perksville Award and when you refer friends remember to use your referral URL or you won't be able to get any referral points. ***) Location: Midtown, there is supposedly free parking for the fellow yogi's somewhere, but I just go with the parking meter. Down the street from Red Rabbit, Blue Cue, & etc. How to get started: 1. Sign up online through their website & there are lists of diff classes that you can sign up for. or you can use the Mindbody app, which is what I'm currently using. 2. Bring with you a yoga mat, yoga towel/beach towel, hand towel, and watterrrr! Keep hydrated. But, don't worry they have mats & towels for rent. 3. Just go with the flow, don't worry no one is here to judge your poses. Like my friend told me no one cares (unless you're breaking your back or something)! Just go and have fun. Classes that I have tried: 1. Basics: It's around 85-95 F. -This was my first class with Taylor R. she got me really wanting to come back to try more, she has my favorite yoga playlist. -However, I find Ellen's Moe classes to be a little slower, which is easier for newbies like us to follow the poses. 2. All Levels: Around 90-95? F. This is more intense and truly varies from instructor to instructor. -I have now witnessed first hand that blake's class. He does pushes you to the limit and it's super jam packed in his class, maybe a little too packed... -My favorite for All Levels is Lauren because she often offers more stretches with the ropes and I work up a good sweat, but still feel super zen afterwards. Also she found my friend & I afterwards to demonstrate how to properly do some poses. -My fave basics would be with Karen and her assistant Sarah; challenging, but it's still doable at the same time. 3. Friday Night Flow: Around 90-95F -I've only had it once with Judi Moreno and she was really cool and got us really into the groove. A lot of quad exercises. 4. Power Flow: An all levels class with a little spice or kick to it is how I would phrase it. It's a speedier + more cardio version of all levels + wall stands! Usually on Saturday with Stephanie, love love love... Only went once because I've been too busy on Saturdays recently :(. 5. Yin (not hot): If you don't like the type of yoga that stays still a lot or what my friends and I call sleepy yoga, then this isn't for you. But, I really like the one with Amanda, I learned new stretches that are not offered in the other classes. Overall: I've only started for about 3 weeks and I've been to all of these and loved them. At first I thought I would have to stick with basics for a long time, but that's not the case. You'll have a couple of hiccups along the way, but no one is here to judge. I love the feeling of this place and the people here. But, imo yoga is really subjective you guys just have to give it a try and see if it's right for you. For me at least, Yoga has been able to relieve some of my stress in a healthy way & has kicked my insomnia to the curb. Readjustments: To the yogi's newbies like myself. Sometimes when you are lucky enough you will get readjusted by the yogi instructors or assistants there and they help massage you and it feels amazing (thanks Judi & Karen!). Solfire has changed the life of many of my friends and is changing my life as well (for the better). I never ever could be motivated enough to get off my ass and "Work out". Nothing got me to do that (except one time when I paid a personal trainer like a $1500 for 3 months to work with me and then I felt obligated to show up due to all the money I'd already committed). However, Solfire has done the impossible for me. I go (almost regularly) to their classes every single week, without needing anyone or any monetary excuse to push me. I go...for myself. I go because... Solfire makes me feel amazing. They have a great community going on and they offer a very diverse amount of great classes for anyone with any interest to find something they will love. There are mindfulness and meditation classes. There are cool series where you can relax OR challenge yourself and workshops that change every month. They keep it constantly fun and interesting so that you never feel like you're getting tired of just "the same old workout". They have helped me (and my friends lose weight - good to know if that's your goal. They also have great classes perfect for the biggest noob (like me) or even the most skillfull yoga master of the earth. You'll find something that is challenging but also fun, no matter where you are in life!! No one there judges, and it is the most welcoming, safe, private yet public, workout space ever. Do come in and try the $30 for 30 deal. $30 for an ENTIRE MONTH OF UNLIMITED CLASSES??? I mean what more do you want? They also offer all kinds of payment or program plans to cater to everyone with their unique needs. I was a skeptic, and you might be one too... but just come in and give it a try. So far my fav. yoga studio of all time!!! I miss this yoga studio so much. I had my 1st yoga class here many years ago and had no idea what to expect...even though I was cursing inside my head during my 1st class b/c it pushed me so hard (plus 1st row b/c I had no idea which way was the front when I put my mat down, plus it was Janna's class [which in the end being one of my favs]), but I kept coming back. It gave me a great workout as well as the body stretch/realignment that I needed. The heat was great and rly helped my tense muscles soften. I also was always a big fan of the good sound quality as I am a sucker for that and found the music (if I liked it) always took the experience to the next level :). Each teacher obviously invited their own flavor and it was such a pleasure to get to know so many fragrances. I must give props to Blake as one of my all time fav yoga instructors for always giving a great yoga experience from top to bottom - great yoga sequence (challenging if vinyasa but in a good way) + changing up the tunes frequently + most amazing hands on assist + great sense of humor. I have since moved to SoCal (Orange County) and can't find a place near me that compares. Too many around here are too hot (plus they add humidity!), poorer sound quality w/ poorer selection of tunes and more so-so teachers. read more

$30 for 30 days All the instructors that I've had have been super nice-- as expected. My favorite class has been Aimee's mostly because of how the class ends. I'm not an expert yogi and I need someone to come around and make sure my alignment is on point and I got it. If you're new or returning after a long period of no yoga, they'll take care of you. One instructor started the class saying, 'if you don't like being touched, let us know'.. So accommodations, right? Just ask or say something. I think of Solfire as a modern yoga studio. They have classes infusing hip hop (not on the regular but I'll catch less traditional classes as such on the schedule) Classes are heated unless noted and sometimes it's packed so that adds to the temperature. There's a great availability of classes through the day, every day.. Although, the classes that I want is not offered as much as I would like. From time-to-time they offer workshops or have different events. That's something to look out for. ..not to mention a free class is offered Sunday mornings in Marshall Park or in the studio during the cold weather. read more

This is more like 4.5 stars! Solfire is a cozy yoga haven. I've been an unlimited monthly member for about 5 months now, after trying four other yoga studios around town. Solfire's community is very friendly and approachable, and the classes are challenging. I also appreciate how many options they have in terms of scheduling, as well as the variety of teachers. My favorite teachers are Jamie, Evelyn, and Stephanie. I tend to gravitate more toward thoughtful, quieter, more spiritual teachers, rather than louder, faster paced teachers who are there for a Sweaty Workout. (Try Janna and Judi, if that's more your speed.) I especially appreciate that Jamie doesn't play music, as I like to be able to audibly hear my breath. Stephanie encourages gentle challenges in class, such as hip rotations that encourage soft, gradual strengthening. And Evelyn makes it a point to incorporate some unusual stretches or poses toward the end of the class, ones you might not otherwise get in a typical vinyasa flow. To me, pushing myself to places I've never gone is part of why I love yoga. Overall, my only couple of slight gripes are that I can't always tell the difference between a Basics and an All Levels class. This makes it "easier" to fit either class into my schedule, but sometimes I yearn for a class somewhere between Intense Workout and Restorative. Yin Flow sometimes accomplishes this. But I strongly believe that yoga is just as much about the spaces between (or after) activity and exertion, about the quieting of the mind and body, and that should be incorporated into every class. More than other studios I've been to, Solfire gets your heart pumping for 85% of the class, then sometimes rushes the cool down. It makes for a good workout, but I don't always leave feeling as relaxed as I would like. And I LIVE for that post-yoga noodle body feeling. If you are considering Solfire, please try it out! The teachers are not pretentious, and what I love is they always encourage students to find rest when they need it. Sometimes taking child's pose is as brave as shaking one's way through dancer's pose. Plus, if you're lucky enough to have an assistant in class, you might get a lovely back massage. And while I've never regularly practiced in a heated studio, I got used to the 90-degree temperatures in about one month--so stick it out and maybe bring a towel. ;) read more
