I've built so much muscle as a 60+ woman at this gym! You see women of all ages and abilities. Everyone is welcome. The classes are varied in the different muscle groups that they work so I feel strong in my upper body, core, and legs. I mostly attend the cardio-strength classes but other classes are available like Pilates, yoga, and barbell work. Check out the website! I'm not one that does well working out on my own. The space has a great vibe and is very welcoming-however I don't think the practitioner is aware of how powerful those crystal bowls are. That room is way too small and the sound is way too loud. There's nothing relaxing about super loud sounds that jolt your nervous system. She was talking at the same time as she was using the bowls and you couldn't even hear what she was saying, so that in itself was odd and frustrating. There were other parts of the sound bath that were relaxing like the sea sounds but those crystal bowls were not it. If you were in an auditorium, or place that was acoustically appropriate it would be healing. Not a place I'll go to again~ read more

On a bright and sunny Sunday morning, I had the opportunity to attend an amazing sound bath at her Elevated. The sound bath was put on by Soul Wave Holistics. The space itself is open and airy with tons of natural light and soothing plants. The sound bath was euphoric and completely put me at ease to start my day. I appreciated the extra pillows and blankets that were provided as all I brought was my bolster and my mat. I've been really enjoying the classes by Soul Wave Holistic here. Sound work is something I've been drawn to for a long time, and these sessions have been incredibly grounding and comforting. In my 20's through 30's I spent lots of time in noisy environments like clubs and bars (I have absolutely no regrets); however, now as I'm nearing four decades on this planet, I'm often seeking activities that bring me peace by helping to quiet my mind. After having a conversation with a friend, my wife asked me if I would be interested in a sound bath. The first thing that came to mind was the movies where individuals attend a sound bath resort that turns out to be an entryway into a cult (my wife and I had a good laugh over this thought). After snapping back into reality, I excitedly responded to my wife saying "yes", and anxiously awaited the day of our scheduled session. The afternoon of our appointment, my wife and I arrived with our yoga mats, eye coverings, pillows and blankets. The woman (I was so excited for the event that I forgot her name) leading the sound bath was friendly and did a great job of providing details about the sound bath before she started. During the sound bath I was able to quiet my mind and focus on her chants of positive affirmations. The various sounds put me in a state of relaxation so deep that I forgot that I was in a room with other people. The post-sound bath feeling is very similar to how I felt after having a mud bath. I felt pretty dehydrated (I was cautious about drinking too much water prior to the sound bath in fear that I would have to pee during the experience) and a feeling that I can only describe as being drunk on relaxation. With all of the interesting things taking place in our world (interesting is an understatement), it's nice to have a space that offers such a valuable + healthy service. For my next sound bath experience (yes we are already planning on making a return visit in the near future), I will make sure to bring some post-sound bath electrolyte water and a lumbar support (the floors are really hard) for my lower back. I've been going to her Elevated since October 2022 and joining this studio has been one of the best decisions I've made for my emotional and physical wellness as a 20-something. Katie, who owns this studio is an incredible teacher and friend. She challenges her ladies no doubt, but is very mindful to give many modifications and wants to know about any injuries we might have. Gabby, who teaches at the studio is a total gem and I'd highly recommend taking classes with her as well. Not only is this a fitness studio, but it is a gathering space for other wellness teachers in the community which I love. The New Moon Sound Bath with Makena was incredible!!! Our son was lost to senseless gun violence on the Fourth of July, 2022. He was a victim, along with 4 others ~ However, he was the only one who died. Since then, my husband and I have dedicated our entire existence to ameliorating gun violence. We established a very busy foundation (GregNajeeGrimes.com). The sound bath experience. We needed this. Makena took every opportunity to ease us into the sound bath rejuvenation community. After answering about 1000 questions, we booked our event and posted the occasion in honor of Bereaved Mother's Day, May 5th. We introduced the idea of the sound bath to other moms who have lost their children. Nationally, we celebrate moms on Mothers Day; so Bereaved Mothers Day is new to Sacramento, Makena respected what we were trying to do in terms of uplifting moms in the healing process. She took us seriously and also kept everyone updated as our event approached. Why 5 stars? On the day of the event, we had an emergency situation and reached out to Makena just hours before. She was an absolute jewel! We understood the policies and never expected to be able to transfer our tickets...but Makena was so amazing. She blessed us by allowing us to pay it forward and give someone else the tickets. What!?! That's almost unheard of, especially just hours before the event. Total Professional. On top of that, the feedback that we got from folks who attended blew us away! We are forever grateful for Ms. Makena. On Mother's Day, we are booking the event again, and those who were too late to RSVP for Bereaved Mother's Day, are now booking with Makena for Mother's Day. Let me start by saying that I never leave yelp reviews - but I'm leaving one for her Elevated because the studio is that good! I started coming to 6a classes about 6 months ago, and I LOVE it. I've gained a supportive community of women, (a lot of) muscle, and a healthier lifestyle that involves strength training. If you're nervous about trying strength training for the first time, don't be - the teachers and other ladies in the class will help you out. I've been to several events hosted at her Elevated and I have always been in love with the atmosphere and ambiance! It is very welcoming, atheistically pleasing to the eye. So every time my business partner and I thought of hosting an event for "Bay Beauti"we always visualized ourselves right at Her Elevated. Last year signed up for Class Pass and was trying out different fitness studios in and around Midtown. I was looking for low-impact strength training to complement my Hatha yoga practice. I went to one session at her Elevated and was charmed by the cute studio style vibes and good music. I ended up getting more serious about my yoga practice, but a few of my girlfriends liked what they heard and started going. Without me! Oh heck no!! So I joined the 6:00 a.m. class to workout with them. Slowly I got to know the other ladies in the class and Katie, the owner. Getting out of the house before dawn was a challenge at first, but I got used to it. I never regret showing up for myself in the morning. Katie is great at leading the group.
