Personally I haven't been to a native we walked into this restaurant and at first glance, we couldn't even tell that they were open. There was a whole side of the restaurant that had chairs stacked up and the lights were off... It was 8 PM on a Saturday! We then ventured over to pick up our pizza and wings that we ordered online. That took 45 minutes, after waiting 30 minutes prior to going to pick it up. Even then we had to informed the manager multiple times that we were there to pick up our order only to find out that they hadn't even started on it yet. 2/6/25: Short version - been there. Done that. Won't go again. Food was all right, the service was poor, & we could barely taste the vodka in our cocktails. Long version - had a bad day at work & wanted a drink. Native Grill was close so we gave it a try. We walked in the door & stood around for about 3 min before someone made an appearance at the concierge desk. There was no sign anywhere to indicate if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait for someone to help seat us. We sat down w/ the menus, ended up waiting for about another five minutes before the concierge gal came back to ask if our server ever showed up. That would be a no. When she did pop by our table, it was w/ a very "meh" attitude. I guess she was having a bad day, too. :-) We ordered everything at once: cocktails, water, appetizers, and meals. The drinks came first. After the first couple of sips of our cocktails, we both questioned whether they actually added the vodka -- and they tasted so similar we think we were given the same cocktail despite us ordering two separate drinks. We both ordered burgers & neither of us were asked how we wanted them cooked. Everything came out together. Uh, hello, do you not understand the meaning of appetizer? There was no sauce with the zucchini fries & when asked if there was supposed to be she said yes (then why didn't you bring it?) & only then asked us if we wanted ranch or blue cheese. We said blue cheese but what she was brought we both agreed was ranch (unless blue cheese suddenly because a non-chunky dressing). Ha! We also had to ask for silverware. Once the food was delivered to our table, our server went M.I.A. (to our table at least). She came out numerous times to assist other tables but never once came over to inquire how the food was or to check in or ask if we needed / wanted anything else. When she finally did return, there was no "did you save room for dessert?", so we immediately asked for the check & take-home container because if we did not ask for both at the same time, we likely would have been waiting even longer for a return visit. This is the nicest dinner restaurant in Laveen, it is very family friendly, great bar and vibrant atmosphere. Lot is well lit, nicely maintained with recent work done on it and lots of convenient parking. They have a variety of sports games on the TVs and are happy to change it for patrons. Cool music too. There's 3 areas for seating, the quiet side for groups, the bar side, and the patio. Some of the staff check-in and run food as well as take orders so you need to be mindful that they're doing all they can. Some very old reviews mention long wait for food to come out but I have never seen this be an issue, literally... ever. Sometimes the apps will mark orders as done when they're not and the drivers have to sit in the lobby for a bit. Everyone tries to be really attentive and there's lots of fun to be had! Duck machine, toys, game nights and prizes. Really cool decorations and daily deals like Wings Wed too. The long happy hour is a plus! We couldnt find anything online about any dog rules. So we drove over to natives today. Today it's 110 degrees out and climbing. They saw our small puppy we carried in and were told we have to eat outside. No dogs allowed. But it's hot outside ... it's our rule. I get that some places have rules. If you have these rules put them on your website and post them outside your establishment. Would make it so much easier. The potato skins consisted of 2 halves of a potato cut into 4 pieces of what looked like mini potato wedges, but not the whole wedge AND I didn't get sour cream or ranch, just cheese, bacon bits on part of a potato wedge. I enjoyed Native Grill for the first time last night for a comedy show. It is a fun place with good drinks and food. I ordered the chicken walnut salad (no dressing) and it was fantastic. The layout is awkward with a totally separate dining room from the bar, which is open seating. It's definitely a shorts and flip-flops environment. The food is up to par with Native Grill & Wings (consistent with the other locations I have dined in.) The beer was nice and cold. Once the waitress got to our table, everything went smoothly... but, normally, if the staff walked past me more than a few times without greeting us, I would have left... they were running food for a big party. But, a simple "someone will be right over," helps one not to feel invisible. Once the service got started, it went smoothly. Our waitress was friendly, accurate and quick from then on. I have never been so offended in a restaurant. There is usually a Hispanic female and an African American female that work at the bar area during the day and they have made me feel so uncomfortable to the point that I no longer go there. I have heard them making comment about me and inappropriate comments about my private area, they even talk to customers about me because I have seen them make comments to customers when I arrive and they turn around and look at me. Given no napkins, had to ask multiple times for waitress to remember. When my 3rd friend arrived, waitress ignored her and my friend had to call her for her attention to order. After paying, we sat and chatted for awhile like other customers and noticing waitresses refilling other tables water except ours. May try again, hoping for better service.
