After multiple attempts to reach their business, I'm deeply saddened that it took our insurance agent to finally get a person during their call to the National Vision offices. We've had several employees attempting to use their service for which they were hired to provide. For whatever reason, their claim submissions were declined by this company with no explanation or call to our office explaining why. After our agent contacted them, we learned there were some changes made on their end in November for which we were NEVER notified, although they claim notification was sent via email. We keep every email that comes into our office as a formal record of communication between us and our vendors. There was NO such email received as them indicated to our insurance agent. For me, the declining of requested services should have given National Vision a heads up there was an issue and likely with communication regarding whatever changes were made on their end. Clearly a poor representation of quality customer service and as their client for the last 7 years, we are disappointed. read more

Walmart vision center at San Leandro (National Vision) deserves negative stars for what happened to me in summer of 2021. I ordered a lenses for a perfect pair of frames previously bought at Walmart, and asked for a new screw for another frame previously bought at Walmart. They took a perfectly good pair of frames, put in new lenses reversed left for right, lost a screw, and twice replaced it with incorrect screws that were way too long and/or fell out. On the second pair, they put in incorrect screws twice, which fell out in transit. Because meanwhile I broke my arm and couldn't make the long drive back and forth to Walmart to fix all this stuff, I also paid about $20 in shipping back and forth (they claimed they had not charged me for one trip, but the charge appeared on my credit card). Then I had to pay another optometrist closer to me to fix everything. He replaced the two screws properly, and meanwhile noticed that the lenses were reversed and fixed them (otherwise my elderly mother with dementia would have used wrong glasses for the rest of her life, because she may not have understood what was wrong and been able to tell me. This is not trivial.) He charged me $10 for all that (a bargain). So my costs were about $30 is out-of-pocket only, not counting the time for extra trips to Walmart, several trips to the other optometrist, gas, etc. Now, that's all just simple incompetence; that doesn't really make me so mad. But here's the part that is bad faith and DOES make me mad: The only compensation offered was 20% off my next purchase--which must be within the next five months! Hmm, didn't I just buy glasses? What is the chance I will need more in the next five months? After several long phone calls with National, they upped the offer to 30% and extended it by a year. Since the only thing I might need would be a backup pair of lenses for existing frames, that amounts to about $30--which I can only get by going back to Walmart. Up until this time, my experience with San Leandro vision center had been fine, but after this I would say: Be sure to check everything with a fine toothed comb, because a fair number of people somewhere in their system are very incompetent. And they are not really very "sorry," despite their claims. You will not be compensated for any errors--unless you need lots of glasses. read more

On September 28 2022 I purchased glasses and contacts from Walmart in Clarksburg WV through National Vision. I have yet to receive my contacts. I have contacted the store, called National Vision 800 number, wrote to the company and have yet receive my contacts and it is almost three months. The CSR on the 800 number gave me the same spiel as have the store in my hometown - " there is a shortage of silicone" and "the supplier has backorders". National Vision does not care about the customer or they would have responded to my phone call or letter. read more

Hello out there, thought you should know about the Vision Center inside of Walmart in Windsor, Ca. The seasoned employees are professional and exemplify what service is. My story begins two months ago when I had an eye condition and no optical insurance, so I made an appointment with Kaiser which was expensive. All I received from Kaiser's Optical Department was a diagnosis of inflammation from an unknown source, a $100. bill & prescription for steroidal eye drops which cost more money and did not solve the problem. Fast forward to today at the Vision Center, I received a professional, definitive diagnosis for $35., helpful suggestions and inexpensive over the counter remedies. The staff really listens and they are not just there to sell you product, but to service your concerns and needs with a smile. In the past I have also purchased prescription glasses from this store and always felt informed by the choices that were offered and never pushed to buy more than what was needed. Imagine a store that really cares about your needs. Hands down my vote and future optical business will go to this Vision Center. Give it a try, you'll save money and actually enjoy the experience. read more

My prescription sunglasses had wrong tint but it was taken care of over the phone and I just received a call they were ready. No fuss no muss. read more

I have had my eyes checked at the National Vision located in Walmart for past 5 years and I was always completely satisfied with exam frames lenses and service Not sure what changed but when I went to my appointment today The temporary dr said my eyes had not changed AND your eyes don't change after 50 Upon completion of exam I went to front desk I did not have a copay - I then ask for a copy of my RX (in case I lost or broke my current National Vision frames or lenses They REFUSED to give me my RX - I shopped in Walmart for little over an hour When I returned to Vision center the dr had not had time to write it. Can you imagine going to the Dr and over an hour later Dr had not written your prescription??? I was beyond frustrated but had another. appt I left furious and called National Vision corporate office UNBELIEVABLY they said I was uncooperative While walking to my vehicle a walmart security person approached me - THEY had called security on me - the security guard was very nice So off I went to my next errand - 2 1/2 hours later with no rx - I had left my glass case in the exam room - I can't imagine why So a National Vision I gave gone to annually for 4 - 5 years turned out to be a nightmare and Dr said "your eyes don't change after 50" I had always been completely p and pleased with the entire experience I will NEVER set foot in a National Vision location and hopefully I can save ppl from going thru frustration I did It is unfortunate that a company you have used for five years could possibly be so unprofessional and inept read more

My review is not about the Doctor that works in this office but the employees and service I have, or should I say have not, received. The first time I called and was told that they do not have any appointments or walk ins available for that day and asked if I could hold. Then set the phone down. Let me be clear, I could hear the office person talking from the receiver of the telephonic device that she was using to communicate with the general public, but instead of being on hold she put the phone down. And didn't attempt to come back to the call for 5 minutes. At which point I shared this call with my housemates and hung up. The second time I walked into their office directly and asked to either have an eye exam or make an appointment. Their office person said their computer system was down and they would be happy to call me when it was back up. I left my number but never heard from them again. After a month of putting it off I decided to try and get my eyes checked again so I called to try and make another appointment. The person in the front part of the vision center is a retail employee and can not make appointments, so she attempted to transfer me, but instead hung up on me. This place is like a Labyrinth of Optometry, if by some miracle you can make it through their phone system, computer system, and lack of timely customer response, I'm certain you would be able to have your eyes examined. Though at what quality I'm unsure, if the front staff and technical systems are any indication of what happens in the kitchen I would simply recommend you take your business to Costco or Lenscrafters, both have about the same pricing and have immediate and gracious service. read more

Unable to get my daughters glasses or my money back. A myriad of errors( and mistruths) at the S. Tryon St store in Charlotte NC. Lied about when my glasses would arrive. Since we were moving I needed a hard date on when they would arrive. They never came. The store said they would overnight them to our new address by a certain date. 10 days past the second promise date, no glasses and they will not return my money. We were in temporary housing until our house was ready, now the glasses will be delivered to an address we no longer live at and they will not refund my money or provide the glasses. read more

Absolutely fantastic! I stopped by Walmart for a quick oil change yesterday. I spoke with Armando in the vision center (he also called my insurance to verify types of coverage) he set up an eye exam for today. Amazing! I arrived at 4:30 and by 4:45 Lucy was going through pre exam testing! I was immediately taken in to see the optometrist! She was great and very thorough! I was given several options and a prescription for glasses (much needed) which I had filled and taken care of right there! My glasses are now being made and I am very happy with the service and friendliness of the entire staff! I highly recommend this office if you need and like me...procrastinated on getting the exam and glasses! Thanks for the help and services! read more

overall, terrible and stressful experience. I have wasted my coverage for this years eye exam at walmart, now I am going to have to go elsewhere to get rechecked out of pocket. My glasses immediately felt weird, and they forced me to keep them and try them for a week. (confusion, disorientation, cant tell if the ground is raised or flat) My real issue is the contact lense fitting. The Dr looked at me like I was insane and I could tell she did not take me serious when I came back and told her the overly praised oasys contacts weren't working for me, I could see halos around everything and it feels like something is in my eye, and like it is falling out constantly even though it isn't. (i have been wearing contacts for 10 years with no issue, apparently an archaic brand that she has never heard of, therefore she would not write me a script for those) These employees will promise a call back multiple times, you won't hear from them. The "Manager" was acting like she couldn't refund me for the 3 boxes I already purchased that are unopened, yet they have nothing that works for me to exchange them for. She convinced me to leave the purchased items there, while i try a second trial. The second trial is no better, I cannot even read the license plate of the car in front of me, and I can see better with my old contacts.They gave me the crappiest glasses cases I have ever seen for 100$ Frames. The girl said just to "shove them in there and SHOVE it shut" I will never, ever return here for an eye exam. The lense in my glasses is also lose at the point of receiving them. Go to a professional establishment. I truly feel I have wasted money here. The lense quality is not great(i told the dr i am seeing chromatic abberation in my glasses which I am and she asked me "did i find that on the internet"and did not seem to take me seriously at all. The professionalism is nonexistent. Once they have your money, they don't care if you are happy with your product. Unless you want no more than a machine telling you your "range" of prescription, do not, I repeat DO NOT come here. read more

Friendly and professional staff, from the Doctor to the front desk staff! Got all my questions answered, and they were very patient with my indecision about frames. Decided on a Rayban pair which one of the staff was wearing. So many great name brands to choose from. Very happy with this affordable optical care and would recommend to anyone! Went to buy a new battery expecting to pay $100. One of the sales associates in the auto center named Edgar told me it was still under warranty and there would be no charge. He asked me if I had the receipt, I told him no. Worried I would have to pay he told me we will just get a manager but it will take a few minutes to get back here. I told them not a problem. Ten minutes later the assistant manager Anthony came he took care of me right away and was super friendly. He stayed at the register till the transaction was completed. Had an overall great experience here when I went in for an eye exam and new contacts. They were the only optometry office I spoke to that offered to call my insurance to check my coverage. The optometrist I saw was very friendly and knowledgeable. The lady at the front who got me my contacts and processed my payments was THE NICEST PERSON EVER. I'm not exaggerating - she added an entire star (maybe two) to this rating single-handedly. Unfortunately I didn't get her name, but in addition to being incredibly friendly she went above and beyond trying to get me as many discounts as possible and also gave me an extra bottle of contact solution. I walked out happy and smiling. There was a minor snag in the beginning with the scheduling of my appointment but they accommodated my appointment time anyway. In short, don't be deterred because it's "Walmart." This is a professional optometry office with friendly people and great prices. read more

Well...I had to use my eye insurance by the end of month..long story...so I went to Walmart. It really was just O.K. but a great bargain money wise for me...just a weird way to run an office. Not very good time management on their part which causes patients to be there forever!!I made a appt. a month ago, got there early, and...2 hours later I left and the Doc still hadn't seen me after the eyes were dialated and actually asked me to stay"another 15-20 minutes" NOOOO so this was the eye dr version of fine dining right? The girl in front saw me 1st to pick out frames(which FYI started at just $8.00)...sit for 15 minutes..another girl had me fill out info papers...sit for 15 minutes (while Doc sees someone else)get the poof in eye test and periferal vision test....sit 15 minutes...see doc for tests for new glasses...sit 15 minutes..girl dialates my eyes...sit 15 minutes..left( appt was at 3pm-left at 5pm)..good news ..with my insurance was only $35 total...and yes I too have Kaiser and they were rushed, rude, and way too expensive. I get a pair of glasses every 18-24 months so just need basics, not the Ferrari version! If you have the time I recommend Walmart LOL I had a English as a 2nd language problem with the girl figuring my bill ...she could not understand that co-pay was what I was to pay and kept adding the co-pay to the cost for the lenses and telling me"ok, your co-pay is $25 and the balance is $22 so the lenses are $47. I kept telling her that co-pay means all I pay...anyway, a guy helped her and it wasn't too big a deal since I knew my co-pay read more
