Walking in, I was immediately struck by the beautiful decor and the warm, inviting atmosphere; it truly felt like a place that cares about making you feel special. Everyone I encountered went out of their way to greet me and make me feel comfortable. Maria, helped me and explained the repair process with genuine care and optimism, assuring me she was confident she could fix my glasses. While I waited, I couldn't help but notice their stunning selection of sunglassesespecially a gorgeous purple Dior pair that caught my eye. Not only did Maria successfully repair my Gucci glasses, but I also left with a new pair of beautiful Dior sunglasses and a sense of having made some new friends. The service was exceptional friendly, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do. A big thank you to Maria for her warmth and expertise, and to the whole teamVanessa, Audri, Heather, Ana, Cristina, and Erik for making my experience so memorable. We've had several employees attempting to use their service for which they were hired to provide. For whatever reason, their claim submissions were declined by this company with no explanation or call to our office explaining why. After our agent contacted them, we learned there were some changes made on their end in November for which we were NEVER notified, although they claim notification was sent via email. We keep every email that comes into our office as a formal record of communication between us and our vendors. There was NO such email received as them indicated to our insurance agent. For me, the declining of requested services should have given National Vision a heads up there was an issue and likely with communication regarding whatever changes were made on their end. Clearly a poor representation of quality customer service and as their client for the last 7 years, we are disappointed.

Walmart vision center at San Leandro (National Vision) deserves negative stars for what happened to…read moreme in summer of 2021. I ordered a lenses for a perfect pair of frames previously bought at Walmart, and asked for a new screw for another frame previously bought at Walmart. They took a perfectly good pair of frames, put in new lenses reversed left for right, lost a screw, and twice replaced it with incorrect screws that were way too long and/or fell out. On the second pair, they put in incorrect screws twice, which fell out in transit. Because meanwhile I broke my arm and couldn't make the long drive back and forth to Walmart to fix all this stuff, I also paid about $20 in shipping back and forth (they claimed they had not charged me for one trip, but the charge appeared on my credit card). Then I had to pay another optometrist closer to me to fix everything. He replaced the two screws properly, and meanwhile noticed that the lenses were reversed and fixed them (otherwise my elderly mother with dementia would have used wrong glasses for the rest of her life, because she may not have understood what was wrong and been able to tell me. This is not trivial.) He charged me $10 for all that (a bargain). So my costs were about $30 is out-of-pocket only, not counting the time for extra trips to Walmart, several trips to the other optometrist, gas, etc. Now, that's all just simple incompetence; that doesn't really make me so mad. But here's the part that is bad faith and DOES make me mad: The only compensation offered was 20% off my next purchase--which must be within the next five months! Hmm, didn't I just buy glasses? What is the chance I will need more in the next five months? After several long phone calls with National, they upped the offer to 30% and extended it by a year. Since the only thing I might need would be a backup pair of lenses for existing frames, that amounts to about $30--which I can only get by going back to Walmart. Up until this time, my experience with San Leandro vision center had been fine, but after this I would say: Be sure to check everything with a fine toothed comb, because a fair number of people somewhere in their system are very incompetent. And they are not really very "sorry," despite their claims. You will not be compensated for any errors--unless you need lots of glasses.

I was so nervous and almost got sold the $2000 per eye laser procedure to remove them, when i had several friends who are nurses recommend i don't need the laser, the original extraction method is so easy and all the dr's are good at it. It was not Dr Ripa who tried to sell this, it was eye care institute's Video they make you watch making it sounds like the superior option. I even made an extra apt with her to confirm I'm ok with regular procedure. She assured me I'd be fine. And I was! She is very sweet, friendly, sharp, and attentive. First eye, easy peasy, second eye easy peasy! And it's covered by insurance vs the laser option. The surgery center on 4 th Street is an incredibly professional team. They were all kind, helpful, and knowledgeable vs the actual eye care institute (sometimes in the main location on Cleveland the front desk can be a little overly "gatekeeperish" if you get me.). Eye care institute itself is not as friendly as the Dr, other than the fact they do maintain state of the art equipment. When i came back to have extra apt with the dr to confirm I'm ok with regular procedure vs laser, dr Ripa thought there would be no charge, but i was billed the bill $95 co pay for a question i could have emailed her but the Eye care institute required a whole appointment. That one expensive apt was actually unpleasant because i had to wait long beyond my apt time to speak to the dr and they required eye dilation and everything. Being that, it was not her fault, and Dr Ripa is great! One thing that was very helpful is she recommended i get these distance cheaters for inbetween when my eyes are actually done. That was an incredibly good suggestion, only available on amazon. Yesterday was my second eye. I have no pain, no pressure, only shockingly, now I see better! Thank you Dr Repa!
