Boy am I glad I came here! We have just moved to town, and I had some challenges with my prior optometrist not getting my prescription right. Dr. Gregg is SO GREAT. What a nice person, good listener and has great ideas about how to get me good prescriptions to help me with various tasks -- computer glasses, everyday glasses, a prescription for when I need bifocals and I trust him to work with me for when I am ready to try progressives again. Arrived early, waited out on sidewalk because there is a "no entry" policy. Woman inside did not come to door or check with me so I finally knocked on the door. I was curtly told "we don't have walk-ins." I told her I had an appointment. She finally let me in, but would not let my wife come in since she is "not a patient." The person - if she was even an optometrist, certainly was not very knowledgeable at all. She did not know even the basics. We left. read more

2 minutes ago NEW The doctor here comes across a as pretty nice guy. But I would highly recommend that you don't come here! He's been trying to work with me on toric contacts that I have never used before. They are not very easy to get used to, especially when it's not the right strength, and apparently they take a lot of adjusting. I saw him in January and it's now May, and we're still not getting it dialed in. But yet they told me they can no longer help me because they've given away too many samples and eventually they will get dinged. So it's my fault that you guys can't get my prescription dialed in correctly?? Or the fact that these special toric ones don't work for me and I've asked to have just regular contacts because it's too much of a pain and time consuming?! When I ask that question, they just gave me a different strength of toric, that I didn't even ask for, and they still don't work!! Great doctor to just give up on you because he's tired of giving out samples and he can't get it dialed in to work for me. Not the best way to do business. Way to give up on your patient, and good way to lose customers! They finally wrote me a prescription so they no longer have to deal with me... It's for a sample pack that they gave me of the WRONG strength, but "close enough" to what he was suggesting because it's all they had in stock. Gee, thanks...And the front desk lady's attitude is rude and her customer service is terrible! Avoid this place like the plague! They are not professional at all! read more

We first came to Eyes on the Green about three years ago, looking for a particular brand of glasses for our toddler. Jennifer was wonderful about helping us pick out the frames, answering all of our questions, and generally making the process as easy as possible. Also super quick with the email communication, which is always appreciated! We've been back for new lenses several times as her prescription has changed, and it has always been quick, easy, and pleasant. Recently we took our now 6 year old to Dr. Gregg for the first time, and the whole experience was terrific! He did a fantastic job communicating both with her (making her laugh, answering her questions about how things work, giving her directions) and us (explaining why she needs the prescription she does and what each test is looking for). Just wanted to tell a little story of why I love this office: So unfortunately, my original appointment was cancelled due to factor's beyond my control, and I was forced to push back my appointment another MONTH. Normally I wouldn't care, but I had run out of contacts and didn't want to order a new batch of 90-day contacts with my 2-year old prescription due to the fact that I felt my eyes had gotten worse/ that a new prescription was warranted. I voiced my concerns to Dr. Gregg's office, explaining my dilemma and why this sudden appointment rescheduling was a huge inconvenience for me. He and his office were very quick/willing to accommodate my needs and gave me free contacts to "hold [me] over until [my] next appointment"!! To say I was so grateful and appreciative is an understatement. Now the day of the appointment itself went smoothly. Dr. Gregg was as sweet, caring, and attentive as always. I enjoy my visits with him because I feel like I'm talking to an old friend that I've known for years. He is extremely thorough, personable, and efficient. Called for a copy of my prescription during their week of vacation. I was blind for a day before going to Lens Crafters, paying extra for another prescription (Nobody was there to send a copy of my prescription). Nobody returned my voicemails for months. I am so glad I came here. Dr. Gregg is amazing, and I felt like we were old friends after only a couple of minutes. He was thorough and explained everything - it was by far the best eye exam I have ever had in my life. Great optometrist! I recently switched doctor's to one in downtown San Francisco but that office just wasn't up to par. Dr. Gregg is awesome, he's totally cool and laid back. He always does his best to help... I had some weird eye problems and he was so patient with having me try out different brands of contacts and he'll always recommend the one that is a better deal. He's just great, I can't say enough nice things about him. My husband really liked him too. He thought he was super laid back and just a nice man. I also love where his office is located... on the Windsor Town Green, it's so nice there. The receptionist is also super nice and they don't have any hidden weird fees! Although I'm fairly happy with my new contact lens prescription: * It was almost three months between the time I ordered (and paid) for the lenses and the time that I got them. And the delay was due to the optometrist, not the lens manufacturer. * I had, and expected to get, lenses that are good for two weeks, then replaced. Instead I got lenses that are good for a month, although the same manufacturer has a line of two-week lenses. The matter never came up in the conversations with the optometrist regarding my new prescription, so I don't know why the change was done. read more

He'll always take time to chat during my visits, and I've never seen him in a bad mood! Great selection of frames in the shop; and he's always happy to order something special if it's not on hand. I used to be a patient and friend of Dr.Gregg's, and his former office manager and her husband I consider my friends. His customer service used to be impeccable, and as being friends with him socially, it just really amazes me that he would send my bill to collections. Of course I'm going to pay the amount I owe him, because I do, but the way his current receptionist is going about it saddens me. I spoke to him a few months ago to let him in on what was going on, and he apparently didn't know about it. His current receptionist is bent on ruining his business. I've referred several patients to him, but apparently the receptionist has no clue how to run his office professionally. He has lost several patients as a result of this- me, obviously, and another longtime patient. I personally like Dr. Bob, as my friend and I called him, we actually hung out at a concert at Konocti with him a few years back and had a great time. So it really disappoints me to see this is how business is conducted. So it would behoove you to be very particular as to whom you choose for your eye doctor. He's great, knowledgeable, very professional yet laid back, and very helpful IF you deal with him directly. I don't know what the receptionist's beef is with me, but I just think it's fair you know upfront what you're dealing with. I've been coming here for a couple years and have loved this office. Today I brought my 8 yr old in for an exam and now I love it even more! From the time we walked in, we had a warm welcome from Jennifer, and Dr Gregg was so nice during her exam. He has a great sense of humor. He also told her everything he was doing during the exam and she wasn't scared at all. She does need glasses, so Jennifer and the other nice young lady helped her pick out frames, and they made it fun. I highly recommend this office! I just saw Bob today for my regular check up. I had some problems with my glasses, but both he and his optician Dana were very helpful in getting them fixed, which saved me money. He could have just said, yeah, time for new glasses, but instead helped me fix them effectively.
