Dealing with these guys has been one of the worst experiences. I contacted them 2 months ago for replacement sashes on my windows. Followed up with several emails and phone calls and they refused ro get back to me. This morning I finally get another worker on the phone to tell me the windows are discontinued. They literally wasted 2 months of my time, i now need over 30 replacement windows and even though the original windows in my home came from there where the manufacturer knows the sizes i need, i would never THINK of purchasing the replacements here due to there abhorrent customer service. These guys literally do not care about you or your time and to get an attitude on the phone when i was shocked that it took 2 months to hear they were discontinued is extremely disappointing. I'm writing this review specifically to give kudos to Derek Rock who delivered a huge load of lumber to my house. Derek was put in a tough situation where the driveway where the delivery could be placed was needed for a dumpster instead. There were not many places to put the load for a small house on a small street. He was able to suggest out of the box ideas and was able to expertly and quickly place all the huge pallets that took up nearly every foot of available space on the front of my property. He was very careful to cause as little damage to our lawn and bushes as possible. I am very grateful for Derek and the care he treated my property as if it were his own. Thanks so much! read more

I am living in a new subdivision, where there is still construction going on next to my house. Last month, my daughter's car had been hit outside my house, tearing off the front and dragging her car up the street. We looked and there wasn't a note or anything. Just a nasty hit and run. It turned out National Lumber made a delivery, smashed the car and took off. Fortunately the Foxboro police tracked down the National Lumber Driver. What disgusts me is that I had been a customer National Lumber, but will never again as they didn't even have the common decency to apologize for their actions (which were criminal). I had and have no intention of suing, but it's just a matter of doing the right thing. In that, National Lumber failed and I will never shop there again. read more

I have been playing phone tag with Joann Cameron, who I assume is the Safety Manager that the CEO is referring to, but have not actually spoken with her. I've received a message in the same language as the response below, that it is "being handled through the insurance." However, according to National Lumber's insurance company, they are still not accepting fault, meaning they are unwilling to pay for the damages to my vehicle. This has been an extremely frustrating experience and it is my hope that they will do the right thing and agree to pay for the destruction of my property that their driver has caused. read more

This company is not good for business. They delivered a sub standard cabinet instead of the high end one we ordered. Run don't walk from this company. They do not deal fairly with their customers. Instead of sorting things out by discussing and coming to an agreement they are filing all sorts of charges in the courts. We will be sure to get to the bottom of this issue and they will have to deal with the consequences of filing wrong claims against customers. Beware!!! If you don't accept to pay for any delivered substandard products, they will file theft charges against you. We will be sure to handle this the right way. read more

Terrible customer service. My family and i went in this afternoon and were treated SO rudely by Dave Olney. He must be the owner's son because if he wasnt' related to the owners he would certainly have already been fired. We went in to look for a new front door- and had a really clear idea of what we wanted- but had a few basic questions. We were treated like we were inconveniencing Mr. Olney. He kept checking his phone and sighing loudly when we asked questions. We were fully prepared to spend 3000$ on the doors, but because of how we were treated, we will be going elsewhere. We were literally the ONLY customers in there on a Saturday afternoon. I guess they do not need our business. read more

I've been a GC for 15 years have dealt with a couple of lumber houses For the past year I've used National lumber on two projects. Read the following then seek another lumber house. -To begin with your takeoff will be short about 30% -The quality of the material will give your framers an extra two days of Work choosing a decent stud or wall plate. -deliveries arrive around the same time a bank is returning from lunch. You won't get a straight ETA from your sales rep or dispatch. -The topper in all this is at some point, they'll double bill you & tell you, very unprofessionally, you're wrong. -They will rectify it all by getting Stephen Kaitz (CEO) to call you to tell you that he appreciates your input, they will do better & he'll correct everything. Bottom line National Lumber is more interested in making commercials & growing the business via marketing & advertising, than they are in giving great product & service, one builder at a time. read more

If I could give them a lower rating I would. All they care about is money. Deliveries arrive broken and they do not care to replace. They will send someone to "fix" it but not refund or replace. Worst customer service if you can even get someone to answer the phone. Apparently it is now appropriate to text a customer when they call you. read more

This review is actually for the Kitchen Views area of National Lumber, and my experience was last summer. I should have read the reviews before visiting National Lumber, but, foolishly, I didn't. I only needed replacement hinges for my kitchen cabinets; so I figured, how hard can it be? I called ahead, and was assured by a woman that when I brought in the broken one, she would be able to match it up and order replacements. The male associate I found in the store tried to tell me they don't have any female employees, even though I had just spoken to one, there is a picture of one at the front door, biographies of at least two on the company website, and one eating lunch nearby. Needless to say he couldn't be bothered with my small order. After finally admitting that he does have a female coworker, he gave me a phone number to call to search on my own for the hinges. Of course the number doesn't work, which I told him before I left. He assured me it would work later. Right. So I went to another local lumber company, encountered a fantastic sales associate, and got exactly what I needed. Going forward, I will drive right past National Lumber and take my business elsewhere. If they can't be bothered with my small purchases they most definitely will not get my large ones. read more

I had the worst customer service at National Lumber in Mansfield, MA today. I had questions about replacing our deck. Both customer service men were disinterested in my questions, one told me he wouldn't spend his money on the deck material I was interested in. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. No one wants to do any work, a delivery's take 3 days from time you order it. If you try to pick up your own lumber it will take you a minimum of 2hrs at there yard. Contractors nightmare read more

If you are building a house and your contractor wants to use National Lumber run and hide. They allowed my contractor to carry open invoices for 4 months before they simply put a lien on our house. Couldn't be bothered to alert us after 30 or even 60 days that our crook contractor was not paying them. Or even after 4 months not even a phone call to courteously make us aware that they were exercising their right (thanks MASS law) to lien our property. They have their own legal department for this scam. I call it a scam because despite my contractor owing them 10s of thousands from multiple jobs they continued to give him lumber for new projects, while they pursued us legally freezing our refinance which made us lose a rate lock which cost us 10s of thousands over the life of the loan. One phone call after invoice was 60 days past due and we would have been able to pay them directly instead of the contractor. One phone call. To speak to their quality. They sent us the wrong kitchen cabinets however they did correct this issue including parts and labor which was good. The frames of windows they sent were damaged and my contractor installed them. Good luck getting them to resolve that issue. The wood for the home was wood. read more

Ladies, have you ever walked into a hardware store and the men look at you as if to say, what are you doing in here. That is the feeling I always get when walking into National Lumber in Mansfield, MA. But this day was even worse when I was purchasing paint and asked Ben if I would be able to paint both coats the same day and he responded "sure, paint one coat, go in and watch a couple soap opera's and then go out and paint the second coat"!! I kid you not. I will never shop here again and make sure I tell others to do the same. read more

I just got home from National Lumber in Mansfield, let me just say that all the advertising they do is not correct. As I walked up to the counter there was a young man behind it that after me having to say "excuse me, could you help me? I'd like to buy some windows". He finally turned toward me to wait on me. An architect friend of mine gave me an Anderson cut sheet of the windows I want, and after I gave it to the person behind the counter I was told "what do you want me to do with that? THREE GENERATIONS? EXPERTS? A worker there said he could not help me because he was going home. I looked at the clock...3:40... They sure work strang hours or did he work until 4 and just not want to help me? Long story short, I asked if that was the way they treat all their customers and I may only be one person buying a house full of windows but if they treat more people this way the brother and sister team I heard on the radio ads will have to spend A LOT more money on ads because I an going to tell everyone I know just how I was treated and that I'd rather pay a little more some where else and be treated like a valued person. DONT GIVE THEM ANY BUSINESS! read more
