Install was a total disaster. First they told me they needed an extra $300 for supplies I told them they needed but they didn't include in the quote (but the salesman ensured me it was in there!). Then they refused to do the section under the dishwasher that was in the quote (and refused to pay me back for it!). Then they didn't even finish the job (so much for one day install) and left the floors unfinished missing planks and mismatched materials. I thought since this company had been around so long they must do it right but boy was I wrong. T in customer service kept bullying me and telling me if I didn't give them the extra $300 cash they wouldn't install the floors that day, which it turned out was an empty threat but would have really ruined my timeline as a mom. By far the worst company I've ever worked with. read more

Write a Review Horrible. Simply horrible. Didn't have much LVT selection with the salesman even though LVT was specified in scheduling. I had to pay to get a sample delivered; installers arrived on time but the floorplan was wrong, had to call customer service and get the runaround and then was disconnected. Installers didn't have enough material to lay the LVT as we agreed, so had to accept their alternative design. No adjustment in price for that failure, Customer Service hung up on me ("lost in transfer" as they say). Installers took two days for a one day job, second day they're still working on it at 6:01pm so l am missing a family event (wife went by herself). Am I angry and unhappy? YOU BET. Day 1 after install: Soft spots all over one section of the floor; if I step in one particular edge, I can put my finger under the edge of the adjoining tile! This is crap!! Filed a dispute with my credit card today. Maybe that will get their attention! read more

National Floors Direct - Review on Houzz - Flooring Near Me - Braintree, Massachusetts

Junk and no warranty! Don't bother with this company! We had our floors installed 3 years ago and they are already coming up and falling apart. They, and the manufacturer of the flooring, who I can't get the name of, won't cover 3 pieces of flooring that clearly have issues. By pictures I was asked to send, they are refusing any help or service. They are saying we damaged the product, which is just normal wear and tear. Don't waste your money, go elsewhere! read more

Stay far away from this company. Wrong product shipped after waiting 3 weeks, installation cancelled. Reps scheduled, no show, rescheduled (no samples). Re-selected new flooring -- installers arrive without enough product. Numerous emails -- only to make sure that they get paid, before the work is done. The customer service team was absolutely unapologetic and would not allow me to cancel and get a refund of my 50% deposit. Now - today, installation incomplete because they didn't give installers enough product. The absolute worst flooring experience ever. Go elsewhere. read more

I am writing to let you know that you should not be using National Floors Direct, as they have horrible customer service, do not stand by their Satisfaction Guarantee, and are outright liars. The salesperson who came to our house went on and on about how they have this magnificent satisfaction guarantee, and how they do not use subcontractors, and how they are all about professionalism and making their customers happy. Apparently, all lies. The 2 people who installed the floors showed up at 8:45 am in what my neighbors described as "The Jesus Van", which is basically a non-descript white van with pictures of Jesus all over it. Nowhere on the van did it have the National Floors logo, nor did they present themselves as employees of National Floors, there were no uniforms, just a couple in shorts and t-shirts, they were obviously subcontractors. Also, they did not speak English, which in itself is not an issue, but we could not discuss with them what was happening, and when we tried to ask about some of the issues, we could not get anywhere with them. They were here installing the floors until 8:06 pm, almost 12 hours. There probably should have been at least 1 extra person for the size of the job and the time it took. Again, the salesperson made it a point that they do not use sub-contractors, and these people were very obviously sub-contractors. Second, they did not remove the baseboard from the walls during the installation, which would have been fine if the floors went all the way to the old baseboard, but it does not. And they simply attached a second layer of baseboard to the original baseboard, which looks horrible. In one spot they attached molding to a portal that was already in place, which looks weird and bad. When we tried to ask them about it, they did not speak English fluently enough for us to discuss the issue. They did a poor job cleaning up. After they left, my wife and I needed to sweep, vacuum, dust, and mop the floors. They also took the screens out of the bedroom windows so they could throw the carpets out the window instead of carrying them down the stairs. When I went outside the next morning there was a lot of debris from their cutting area and lots of carpet fibers from where they were throwing the carpet out the window from the second floor. 2 days later, the screen fell out of the window (2 stories up) and onto my wives car. Out cat, which likes to lie on the windowsill also fell out. Luckily both the cat and car escaped unscratched, but had that been a child or person, there could have been sever consequences. I sent an email to the salesman and got no response at all from him. A few days later I got a call from an operator from the company explaining why everything they did was as it should be, even though she had no direct knowledge of the email and pictures that I had sent in. I explained to her that if she had no knowledge of the situation, it was pointless to discuss with her. I sent another email to my salesperson, again no response. I called the customer service line, and on the first day, I could not get through. The second day I got through, and they told me to send my complaint to their email address, which I did. A few days later I got a call from an operator (it might have been the same person) with the same response. She too had no knowledge of my complaint, just the canned response she had before. When I repeated that her having no knowledge of the complaint was unhelpful, she replied, "Managers don't talk to the public." As of the writing of this letter, my wife just informed me that they are being sued for misleading the public and performing shoddy work. Avoid these people at all costs. read more

Great value and wonderful installer. Highly recommend NFD for your flooring needs! We will use them again in the future.

Hello I have several pictures of an extremely POOR install and the same with their staff we paid $6200.00 for flooring in our kitchen, and a year later it is coming up. The installers there were 3 over the two times they came out only one spoke English they were halfway through the job and I got a call that they wanted another $2,700.00 dollars or they would pull the crew and take the supplies that we already paid for. They called us maybe 20 or so times in a row insisting we sign off on the warranty or they would take the stock and remover the crew. This NOT a company you can trust or so business with. read more

More Photo 1 in review by Andy Fitzpatrick Photo 2 in review by Andy Fitzpatrick Photo 3 in review by Andy Fitzpatrick Tyler Hart 25 minutes ago New STAY AWAY! I entered a contract with National Floors Direct to remove tile and replace with Mohawk Laminate. The installation crew arrived with no tools to remove the tile. They returned with a demolition hammer to remove the tile but admitted this was the incorrect tool which resulted in damage to my slab. They also used no dust containment and blew the concrete dust throughout my home causing major health concerns. The company then called and advised there was already underlying slab issued and charged more to correct those issue. Self level was poured with no prep work and they began installing the floor while the self level cement was still wet which is a breeding ground for mold. The flooring was poorly installed with hollow spots, chipped and cracked planks, cracked quarter round, improper expansion gaps, no waterproofing and multiple incorrect cuts. These issues all void the warranty from the flooring manufacturer. I called the company who sent out the same crew multiple times to correct the issues. These issues were not corrected and they attempted to cover the issues with caulk and putty. The company then sent a manager and advised they would send a different crew to do the proper repairs. The new crew arrived, observed what needed to be done and agreed to return the following weekend but did not show up. The company sent out the manager and original crew again and agreed to remove the flooring, correct the slab issues and replace the floor but would not provide anything in writing. The original crew returned, removed and reinstalling half of the flooring using the same materials. This resulted in more chipped/damaged planks and damage to the moisture barrier. They did not correct the expansion gap issue or waterproof steps required by the manufacturer and continued to cover new issues with putty and caulk. The company was given a total of 8 repair opportunities but the issues continue. Other flooring companies won't even provide quotes to perform any repairs due to the amount of work required due to the negligence of National Floors Direct. National Floors Direct will not offer any refund or take any responsibility for the mess they have created. Avoid this nightmare! read more

Mindy P. If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS ! I have never had such a horrible experience as I did with NFD, in my life. Not only is the customer service rude, but they also lack any kind of professionalism. I ordered what I thought was the perfect color laminate, for my bedroom. During the installation I noticed the color was not at all what I had ordered. Also, the quality was less than what I was told to expect. Don't throw away your hard-earned money....... read more

Disappointment doesn't begin to describe the lack of professionalism and business etiquette that was received. Had a kitchen floor installment with National Floors Direct (NFD). On the day of install, was given a specific time for arrival. Two hours after not hearing from NFD, a call was made to them. After being placed on a brief hold, it was stated that the warehouse had "mix up" the materials for the installment. Was assured that the floor installment would still be complete on the day specified on the contract. An hour later received a phone call stating earlier that morning the installer had an "incident" enroute to the house therefore NFD was going to reschedule the installment. Which one (1) is it - a warehouse mix up or incident enroute? When you have to have your gas connection unhooked from the stove and refrigerator unplugged in preparation for an installation and it doesn't happen, it puts you in a difficult predicament to prepare a meal for a family gathering for the following day (which happens to be an holiday). No kitchen furniture (had to be moved for install), no stove (gas had to be unhooked for install) not mention an extra charge to have some unhook it, no refrigerator (had to be unplugged for install) The lack of discernment and asking for clarity due to indifference of information received was very poor. No attempt to right the wrong. National Floors Direct - your first impression was that of poor taste, ineffective customer service, and lack of professionalism. How will you right your wrong and also ensure no other customer receives this type of treatment from National Floors Direct? read more

FLOOR SEEKERS BEWARE!! I rarely come on here to review businesses, but I figured my experience could serve as a cautionary tale. My husband and I had National Floors Direct come to our brand new housebuild to give us a quote on hardwood floors for our living room, kitchen and bedroom. The sales rep was a smooth talker, she made us feel fully confident that NFD would do an incredible job and that the quality of wood and price was unmatched (Hartco). We went with the Sahara color hardwood. After agreeing to paying a total of $16,000 and scribbling on a piece of paper that I agreed to not change my mind (?) they came out a few weeks later to do the job. There were about 10-15 sub contractors that came in two vans, one of the workers could speak English. We noticed how expedient their work was, how quickly they nail gunned the floor down and cut the wood in our driveway, as though they were being timed. I'm telling you guys, it felt like they were all racing against a clock. I figured, hey, they do this for a living, I'm sure they could do this with their eyes closed at this point, so I didn't pay any more mind to the rush approach of their work. We walked around after they finished and immediately noticed that there were adhesive glue blotches and stains covering every inch of the floors, dings, pock marks, splinters, exposed nails, lifted boards, and uneven cuts around our kitchen island exposing subfloor. There is wood puddy everywhere, obvious places were they lifted up a piece of wood and hammered it back down in place, it's just shoddy, shoddy work. The floors are now CUPPING! Cupping, you guys. Our 3 month old hardwood floor is cupped and creaks with every step. This job was done in March and we have yet to get NFD to take any of our concerns seriously. Example; I called a week ago and got ahold of a rep who told me to submit pictures and an explanation of our issues, after listening to my woes, he agreed that a manager should come and check it out for themselves. I wrote a lengthy email and included about 50+ photos. Not long after I got a call from a lady named Lisa who agreed that we would need somebody to come and look at our floors. She asked us how many boxes of wood we had leftover, I said that I wasn't sure, and so she then said she would send a supervisor out to estimate how many more boxes of wood would be needed to fix the floors. I was honestly SHOCKED at how easy this went. I cried happy tears. Boy, was I naive. A week later, 3 of the subcontractors pulled up to our house at 7:45am. I recognized them from the last time they were here. The English speaking gentleman from before and two of his men. They came into my house with a bottle of goo gone and a rag. "We will clean the floors" I then said, "I've tried using Goo Gone on a spot and it didn't do anything, the splotches have eaten away the finish on the floors, where is the manager?" "No manager is coming" "The manager is not coming". The speaker proceeded to deny that his team had anything to do with the one (of dozens) of pock marks on the floor. "No that was not done by my team." I sent them away. They all smirked as they left. My husband and I called NFD as soon as they opened (9am) that very same day and we were told that the contractors had already spoke to the manager to say that everything I had pointed out was OUR fault. They were in my house for all of 3 minutes before I asked them to leave. They did not even GLANCE at the issues I had to share. We asked to be connected to a manager, and were refused. We asked for the manager's name, denied again. We were hung up on. We called back and they told us that they were done with us, and that we can sue if we'd like. So here I am, defeated, sad, confused, angry... I just don't know where to go from here. We have this beautiful home that we built from the ground up, and our $16,000 floors look like a toddler installed them and nobody from NFD wants to be held accountable for it. We were completely scammed. Long story long, if you are looking to floor your home, go with a local company who stands by their work. read more

Requested installation of 20sqft for vinyl flooring that includes a complete concrete subfloor to replace existing 3/4" plywood, as nearly the entire subfloor was rotted out. The tech, Desiree, arrives for an estimate, walks over the existing floor, acknowledges how lumpy, mushy, and rotten it is, calls into NFD to determine the number of concrete bags to cover the entire floor at 3/4" for a complete subfloor replacement, and relays a quote of $3800 for everything. She then uses high pressure sales for a $1300 deposit that day. On the day of installation, the subcontractor arrives with only five bags, and knows nothing of a "complete subfloor replacement". He says this project would need 45 of those bags. So he sends photos of the partially ripped up floor to his supervisor. NFD mgmt says nothing can be done today. "You need to hire a licensed subcontractor to install a new subfloor, and then call us back to install it afterward." I want to cancel - canceling is not allowed on installation day. I want my deposit back - no luck there either. No work was done except ripping up some of the floor. Now I'm out $3800. At least they left the tiles and corner rounds at my house so I can do it myself. In the contract, it says nothing about extra bags of cement for my project, but it does have a section, "we do not do subfloor work." So the joke's on me, as I assumed all would go fine with a company that does so many TV ads. All they do are floors, but they don't do subfloors? They do a good job of pretending to do subfloors at estimate time. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

They'll come to your house and basically steal your money without using a gun. The salesman said to me they do not use subcontractors. That was a lie. He said they used the highest quality LVP. I should have known better when he told me he called his manager and he'd give me a 10% discount if I agreed to terms that day but it was only good for one day. That was a lie. I should have known better when he insisted on a down payment that day and would only accept Money or a cashiers check, no credit card. Who doesn't accept credit cards? They do. You know why because now they know they've got the hook in you and they'll be no recourse. Their customer service was rude, uncooperative, unprofessional and obviously following a script. They just deny, lie and point you back to the contract and then have the nerve to try to upsell you on a problem they created. Buyer Beware! These people are scumbags! Do not under any circumstances do business with them. Oh and one more thing, I found out about their dirty little scam business. They pay disgruntled customers $25 who they already stole their money to write positive reviews for them on the better business bureau website. Each positive review you write they give you $25. Basically bribing you to keep their scam going. I guess it's one way to shut people up and maybe they can re-coup some of the money that they lost from this shady broker. Called customer service and these scam artists said they're was nothing wrong with the flooring and then tried to charge me a re-stocking fee and upsell me to a new more expensive floor. I asked to cancel and give me my $600 back. They refused and said I waived that right in the contract. I could go on and on about this so called company. Nothing wrong with being a business and being in business to make money BUT there's a few things the potential clients should know about the sales reps. They push quick installs so they get you to sign the "extreme emergency" form to get your products ordered. Once you sign this you CANT cancel or they will keep your deposit. The deposit is supposed to be to cover the cost of the materials so if you cancel you should be able to keep your materials but no... They push the click and lock because it is easy to install quickly and it's supposed to be waterproof and scratch free but I can tell you that after 2 days .. yes 2... it is not waterproof or scratch proof. The entire model is predicated on forcing / pressuring you into quick installs because then the deposit is theirs to keep. Deceitful Also they have a same day price and a future price. If you decide not to sign the paperwork that day then the price goes up 25%. They will say " lock in today at the "today price" and only the cost of the materials is due today and you can push the install out and pay the remainder later ( great you think ) but then the "extreme emergency rush" paperwork comes out and you're locked in forever. Customer service is terrible. Terrible. My wife and I called 3x in one day and got 3 different answers and then ended up having to pay more to move an install even though they said there's no charge. Finally, the installers are not theirs - national is just a broker. They broker the deal and pay local installers to do the work. Fine but neither the laminate or the carpet installers spoke a single word of English and as a result both floors have issues. I needed carpet quickly - that is their strength, and why I called. The salesperson was very friendly, but there were downsides. The appointment took 3 hours of my time. I could have done the whole small bedroom job myself in that time. They require 2 hours. I was offered only three types of carpet, only polyester, and none of high quality. So, no real selection/options. I was forced to commit during the visit or would be charged an extra $500 or so. The salesperson skirted the 3-day cancellation law by offering installation in two days, and made me sign a cancellation option waiver that I had to hand write. I understand they have to plan, so I agreed. But I would have much preferred to have had a few days to consider my other options without a huge additional cost. They offer a price guarantee, but I did not have time to secure other options. You must pay a 15% deposit and have cash or a money order for the remainder. No credit cards. So, you must go to the bank and lose the rewards offered by your credit card. I was promised by the salesperson an afternoon appointment so that I would have time to go to the bank after the weekend, but the day before installation they called and would only offer only the morning 8-12 am slot, potentially arriving before I could get to the bank, in which case they said they would not do the project. I tried to reschedule for the following day, but they would not allow this. After my objection, they did say the installers would wait for me. The phone representatives are not skilled, and possibly not even properly trained in how to handle customer concerns. I tried to cancel as I was generally unhappy with the business practices, the unprofessional phone scheduling manner, and my compromise on quality. They stated cancellation was not possible and that if I failed to go through there would be additional charges of approximately 30%. Update: The three installers were impressive, extremely fast and moved all furniture safely, returning it into position perfectly. This company provides very fast service. For one 10x11 bedroom it was about $1250 for a medium grade of polyester cut pile. Seemed expensive, yet the speed was valuable. Do not use them! The salesmen will say anything to get you to sign. Read the entire contract! Trust me you will regret hiring them.

We hired national floors direct due to their ease of scheduling/availability and cost to install. We were happy with most of the process until the installation. 2 installers arrived and one installer tried to open a window they had no business opening. While opening the window it fell from the tracks in the frame and shattered on the floor. When I called to make a claim, the customer service rep said we were recorded on a previous call where we said there was no fault on the installer and the "wind blew the window open" (impossible for a window on tracks). They then said they could not have anyone else talk to the customer and the person who makes decisions on customer issues does not talk to customers directly. Beware: We're hiring a lawyer to deal with this! Be cautious of the sales tactics employed by this company. They lack a willingness to work with customers, even repeat ones, and their approach can resemble that of a shady used car salesman, which greatly varies depending on your negotiation skills. Our personal experience with them is so unbelievable that it may sound fabricated, but we are stating factual evidence against this money-driven and unethical company. Let's begin with the so-called "free estimate." When the salesman arrives, their sole focus will be on promoting the luxury vinyl because of its exorbitant markup for the company. They will present you with an outrageously high estimate, but don't be fooled. When you counter their offer, they will promptly contact their boss and shower you with a multitude of discounts in an attempt to pressure you into signing the contract that very night. However, we strongly advise against doing so. By purchasing the materials yourself and finding a reputable contractor through platforms like Angi, you can secure better pricing. Another trick they employ is offering a rushed order, again by engaging in the whole "let me call my manager" routine. Beware, though, as accepting this option forfeits your ability to cancel the order or make any changes to it. So, please refrain from rushing into such a decision. In case you do decide to proceed with them, negotiate for lower figures, and you will be astounded by the inflated amounts they manage to extract from individuals uncomfortable with negotiation. During our sales meeting, we explicitly informed the company, known as NFD, about the presence of tile beneath the carpeted areas and floating hardwood in the sections where we wanted new flooring installed. The salesman assured us that NFD would come in, remove the rug (which NFD had installed years earlier) and the floating floor, properly dispose of them, and lay the new floor seamlessly in just one day (a point they emphasize). However, this turned out to be far from the truth. The tile we had was found to contain asbestos, and in the carpeted area, someone from NFD had irresponsibly nailed into it. Removing the tack strip would have posed a significant risk, requiring the tile's removal before proceeding with the new floor installation. Unfortunately, because we had already signed the contract, we were unable to cancel the order and take the time to strategize and plan accordingly. Consequently, the installer partially removed our floor, leaving it in disarray, and it was only after their departure that the manager called us, leaving us bewildered and unable to discuss alternative options with the installer. Eventually, we were forced to spend an additional $5000.00 to have the tile removed and undertake the task of ripping up the flooring ourselves, initiating the installation process once again. When the installers arrived to carry out the job, we noticed that the invoice indicated "COD" (cash on delivery). They refused to commence work until we provided them with cash or a check. However, we had financed the order, which led to another frustrating encounter with the company. After numerous phone calls and the installers nearly leaving, we managed to get through to someone who acknowledged our financing arrangement. They instructed us to locate the installers and hand them our phone so they could confirm the message. Eventually, the installers began working on the floor. It is worth mentioning that the installers, who were outsourced by NFD, were excellent. This worked in our favor since their quality of workmanship did not reflect the values of NFD. Upon reviewing our contract, we noticed that NFD was charging us roughly $5200.00 for labor, encompassing the removal and disposal of our old floor, as well as the installation of the new one. We contacted them to explain that due to their salesperson's failure to listen attentively or inspect the flooring we wanted a credit on our bill as we did most of the labor ourselves. We would have been very happy with $2000 or even $1500 but what was offered was $150. We then escalated and asked for a fair resolution, the follow up was a $200 credit. It's honestly insulting. We are now talking with a lawyer that is amazed at how NFD is handling this. It's a shame that we have to go this route. If anyone at NFD is reading this, check your notes, I will gladly change this review after a fair resolution but if not, we will have to go the legal route as well as a Help Me Hank route. This is crazy to me as we are a repeat customer, NFD tacked into the tile before hand, didn't look into it when we tried to show them and were just interested in getting us in contract. read more

Horrible company and customer experience after the sales call. (really). Don't esign the NFD one-sided contact from the salesman in your home doing the carpet sample pitch either ...you'll regret it. less than 1 star rating...and lol please notice the ratings on the NFD website. Not editable, controlled by NFD and fabricated in my view. Why do you think? great tv commercials that give you a false sense of security but STAY AWAY and find other vendors that care about your satisfaction. this Is a marketing company that outsources sales and service read more

I rarely give 1 star reviews but this is deserved. Do not use them. The original sales person was not qualified or knowledgeable. The installation team was overwhelmed and tried their best. Customer service isn't helpful. I have sharp pointy nails poking through all the stairs and the transitions between carpet and tile. Their solution is for me to hammer them down. There are hundreds of them. I did my best but I keep finding them with my barefeet. The carpet was installed in March 2023. I sent photos and called them on March 21. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau on July 14. They replied to the BBB that I didn't contact them with any issues. Come on people. Be honest. read more
