I visited the RH restaurant at Yorkdale Mall and honestly, the space alone is worth going for. The…read morechandeliers are stunning and give the whole place a really elegant, upscale vibe--it feels more like a showroom than a typical restaurant. We ordered the chicken sandwich, RH burger, chicken salad, and fried sweet potatoes, and everything came out really solid. The standout for me was definitely the burger--the patty was juicy and flavorful, and the sauce tied everything together perfectly. Easily something I'd recommend if you're going for the first time. The chicken sandwich and salad were both fresh and well-balanced, and the fried sweet potatoes were a great side--crispy on the outside, soft inside, not overly greasy. Service was also great throughout the meal--attentive without being overbearing, which matched the overall atmosphere really well. Overall, it's a bit on the pricier side, but you're paying for both the ambiance and the quality. Definitely a good spot if you want a nicer dining experience at Yorkdale.

We then shared the Hamachi Cavier, Lobster Salad and Petite Lamb Chops w/ peppercorn creamy sauce. The head of the butter lettuce was a HUGE surprise LOL. All tasty nonetheless. Our server Harry recommended that we can bring our glass of wine, and go enjoy the view of the CN Tower on the 4th floor :) Absolutely will do so next time ^^

Mark, you'll be seeing me again soon. I've just aquired another property that needs the…read moreceiling-mounted hardware. Window owners everywhere, this is a window covering solution you won't find at any hardware store. If you have a ceiling or bulkhead that sits directly on top of the window frame -- that is, there's no wall space between the top of the frame and the ceiling -- you've probably done what everyone does in that situation: mount a half-moon style rod hook on the frame itself. So you know what happens: you can see the top of the frame above the top of the curtains, and you get a line of light coming in at the top, because the curtains can't sit high enough to cover the whole window. Well, Mark's got an app for that. :-) Ask him for the ceiling-mounted rings. They come in all the same colours as the rods. Oh, and you MUST buy the rods, too. You know the kind you get in hardware stores, the expandable kind? You know how they sag in the middle because they're not sturdy? And how your curtains get stuck in the gap? And then you have to pull too hard on them, and the next thing you know you've ripped that cheap rod hook right out of the wall? Well, so far, I've bought... let me count in my head...six sets of solid rods and ceiling supports from Mark, and they're the greatest things. I keep showing all my clients and tenants, and they're amazed they've never seen such a simple curtain solution anywhere before. I tell them, just go see Mark at The Drapery King.

Buyer beware. They don't take any responsibility for their mistakes and don't accept returns or…read moreexchanges on any purchases. One of their sales reps told us we could buy a curtain to take home and then exchange it if it wasn't the right colour even though it's in PERFECT condition. Had them cut rods but they weren't cut properly even though the measurements were CORRECT and they won't do anything about it. Thought about having them install curtains too but when we realized that Mark, the owner, chooses (on a whim or based on how he's feeling that day) who gets a better price for such services, we opted out. It's hard to support small businesses when this is how they run their business - especially when it's something custom and so specific like curtains, rods, etc!

Union Lighting is known to have the most lighting selection in all of Toronto. We came here to get…read moreinspiration and to check out some lighting IRL instead of just me imagining through Pinterest. We wanted some statement lights over our dining table and kitchen counters. I don't understand why there are such low ratings here. I'm sure many people here are just browsing, and I rather have a sales rep give us the space and only come to us if we need help and seriously find a piece we're considering. So I have no issues with how no one really came up to us. There's a lot of lighting, but personally, not enough contemporary/modern lighting to our liking. We did take some pictures of the few we liked that are more contemporary-inspired. However, we don't love it enough to pull the trigger. The prices for the lighting are very high for the ones we looked at, about $1500 (for that round chandelier) to $5600 (Criss Cross silver lighting). We liked the look of the round chandelier the most. To our surprise, our neighbour has the same one. So loses that unique appeal. Also don't know how we would change the light if it burns out? Lighting is all personal preference. This trip nothing really screamed "this is the one" for us. If you're into other design themes like traditional, industrial, mid-century modern etc, you may find there is more to your liking than the modern/contemporary styles here. I still recommend to check it out though for yourself if you're in the market for lighting.

This salesperson couldn't give me the time of the day even though I just bought a light fixture that costs more than $1k.
