However, any mechanical repair is extremely expensive. I received an estimate to change the sway away bars, rear suspension/rear shock absorbers and change the tripods for close to $1,500. I found a local small shop mechanic that did it for less than $700. Also, on another vehicle, the horn wasn't working, so Oxford gave me an estimate to fix it for $450. I reviewed YouTube videos and was able to fix it myself, since the problem was simply that the ground cable was not making contact. Bought a 2' copper cable, changed the horn and changed the plug, all for less than $60. Yes, $450 vs $60. Again, I don't think they are bad mechanics, but way too pricey. Won't go back.

From the moment I connected with Andrew and David it was clear this was going to be a car experience unlike anything I had known. From the very first conversation, I felt like I was talking to friends who had my best interest at heart -- from safety to money matters. They took time to explain everything in detail, staying in touch via text at each step of the process to keep me updated. Not only did they not try to upsell me on anything, David actually called and had me bring over some extra lug nuts I had at the house because he "didn't want to sell me something I already had." First of all, when you set up an appointment, you can request a loaner car, so that you don't need to wait there for the car, and I didn't have to miss work. I also saw a different rep ordering someone an Uber for a different customer because who didn't have appointment so there wasn't a loaner available. Secondly, I originally went in for a transmission flush. While I was at work, I got a text and email of the inspection they had done. The inspection was really easy to read, and gave me different levels of recommendations for other things that needed to be done. Some things were urgent, and some things were needed soon, but not urgent, and there were some things that were for maintenance only. On my lunch break, I called my service rep, and he was able to talk me through all of the things on the report, and explain things to me, because I am pretty illiterate when it comes to cars. I ended up also getting my drive belt replaced as well. But my rep made sure to let me know what the price would before I decided to go through with it. At the end of my work day, I drove my loaner car back to Luke's and picked my car up, and was on my way. Overall, the inspection report, and the loaner car I think is what really separates Luke's from the rest. When I've taken my car to get an oil change or the tires replaced at other places, i've always had to wait in the lobby and its a waste of time. I lost no time with Luke's and knew exactly what was happening to my car. Take your car to Luke's if you want incredible service.

They took advantage of me. Why even have the "call me with an estimate" option if they aren't going to do that? They kept my car all day. I even called mid-day and talked to someone on the phone and he never told me the cost of anything, never warned me about cost or talked numbers. He never offered advice about the services I'd requested, like what maintenance was typically done at this mileage. I learned to always request an estimate, to not be naive and trusting. I used to take my car here regularly but now I can't trust them.

I'd been working with the dealer for weeks, and they were still weeks out, so the quick turn was great! The waiting room has some couches and decent enough WiFi for a Teams call. I will say that the price was a little higher than I usually pay, but I also didn't as for the quote in advance (bad me), and it took them what seemed like a while to work up the quote for the planned services when I arrived, but they were polite and close and available, so you do need to consider that as well.

I talked to Keith again (my hero) and he calmed me down and explained that he didn't have my tire in stock and it might take until Friday (note: the other places I called didn't even share the time it would take to ship from a warehouse). I wanted to drive home to Cleveland on Thursday, but I trusted them and said that it was okay. I towed my car there and couldn't find the key drop slot. Even though they were closed for an hour or so by that time, Keith (again, my hero) came out to get the key. I went to work Thursday morning annoyed with my $10 morning uber ride and my delayed-to-Friday departure home. However, Tuffy called around 3pm and said they had my car done. I'm excited to say that I will be driving home after class tonight and will be reunited with my family at my originally planned time! The biggest issue throughout this entire process was the complete lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism. My 2019 Kia Forte needed an engine replacement. My warranty company approved the claim, the replacement engine was sent to Tuffy, and I waited while they completed the repair. After everything I had already gone through with my car being down, I was finally told my vehicle was ready and picked it up believing the problem had been properly repaired and that my vehicle was safe and ready to drive. Less than 24 hours later, my car was having problems AGAIN. It was making a clanking noise, and I ended up having to get the vehicle TOWED right back to Tuffy. Considering they had just replaced my engine, of course I was concerned that something was wrong with the engine or the work that had just been completed. Having to tow a vehicle back to a repair shop less than 24 hours after getting it back from an ENGINE REPLACEMENT is ridiculous in itself. Then came the battery situation, which made this experience even worse. Tuffy put a new battery in my vehicle without properly communicating with me beforehand about the price or making sure I understood and agreed to that additional expense. I should not be finding out AFTER work is done what something is going to cost me. Customers deserve the opportunity to know the price and make a decision before additional parts are installed in their vehicle. When I made it clear that I did not want to pay for a battery that I was not properly informed about beforehand, I was told they could simply remove their new battery, put MY original battery back in my car, and I would not have to pay for theirs. Okay, fine. Except when I came back, I was then told that MY ORIGINAL BATTERY WAS GONE. The employee explained that my old battery had already been given away/returned, meaning they could no longer put MY battery back in my vehicle like they originally told me they would. How do you tell a customer that you can put their original property back into their vehicle and then get rid of that property before the situation is even resolved? Then, to make the situation even more frustrating, the lady with the piercings was struggling to remove Tuffy's battery from my vehicle and acting as though she did not know how to take it out. At that point, I was beyond irritated. This is an AUTO REPAIR SHOP. After everything I had already dealt with, watching an employee struggle with removing a battery from my vehicle while acting like she did not know how to do it was the final straw for me. There was already poor communication surrounding a MAJOR engine replacement. I received my car back only to have to get it towed back less than 24 hours later. Then a battery was installed without the cost being properly communicated to me beforehand. I was told my old battery could be put back in, only to arrive and find out they had already gotten rid of it. Then I had to stand there while an employee struggled to remove the battery they installed. That is not how you handle someone's vehicle, especially after they have trusted your business with something as major as an engine replacement. What bothered me the most was the lack of communication throughout this entire experience. When someone leaves their vehicle with a repair shop, especially for a major repair, they should not have to constantly wonder what is going on with their car, what is being done to it, or what they are going to be charged for. Communication should be BASIC customer service. I gave Tuffy multiple opportunities throughout this process to simply communicate with me and handle things professionally. Instead, one issue seemed to turn into another. I would NOT recommend this location based on my experience. I expected professionalism, transparency, proper communication, and care for my vehicle. Instead, this entire situation left me frustrated, inconvenienced, and completely disappointed with how this business operates.
