Nathan's Famous - Everything - Hot Dogs Near Me - Oceanside, New York

Nathan's Famous - Oceanside, NY Stopped by Nathan's in Oceanside on a whim and left seriously impressed. Sometimes you just want that classic, comforting, all-American flavor, and Nathan's delivered big time. We ordered the classic hot dog, of course--because how can you go to Nathan's and not get one? It was absolutely amazing. The snap of the dog, that nostalgic grilled flavor, and the soft bun made it exactly what you hope for every time. We kept it simple with mustard and onions, and honestly, it didn't need anything else. The flavor speaks for itself. We also tried the Philly cheesesteak, and while it wasn't the absolute best we've ever had, it was still pretty good. The meat was tender, the roll was fresh, and the cheese was gooey in a good way. Maybe just a bit more seasoning or some grilled peppers and onions would have pushed it over the top--but still solid, especially for a fast-casual place like this. The staff was friendly and fast, even though they were a bit busy. The location is clean, there's plenty of seating, and parking was easy, which isn't always the case around here. Plus, there's just something nostalgic about walking into Nathan's--it brings you back, and the food really holds up. We'll definitely be back for more hot dogs, and maybe next time we'll try the fries or even one of the burgers. If you're in the area and craving a true Nathan's experience, this Oceanside spot is worth the stop. read more

Wow, what rock have I been living under? I normally don't patronize fast food places but the prices have sky rocketed. $8 before tax for a bottle of beer, $10 for a chicken sandwich with NO fries or drink, that would be an extra $6, please. The only caveat is that your food is made fresh after you order which ensures that it is hot. This huge Nathan's was dead inside. Food was decent. We only went here since it was near the funeral parlor and we had a BOGO hot dog coupon read more

Nathan's has always been my childhood favorite! I've been going to them since I was little, but their prices are really getting out of control! The quality of the food is very good, it's fresh, delicious and I love it! But it's the type of place you can only visit once in a while because of how expensive it is. But if you have the money and want some good tasting food, then I recommend them! read more

Ok so I'm here way too early. But I was influenced by YT'er SJohnsonVoiceovers. He did a whole vid on Arthur Treacher's. So ofcourse it made me nostalgic cuz this was my childhood fave! I googled. And Nathan's supposedly serves same beer battered grub. A WHOLE LIE. The only thing that saved me is my Nathan's fries. The chicken tenders were gross. The batter was thick n soft. Raw on the inside. The chicken itself was tender enough. But the batter was soooo bad. I blame myself. No more wee hours of the morning food reviews. read more

Haven't been to Nathan's in a long time and was excited to stop here for lunch. The food was underwhelming and super greasy. I could see the oil from my overcooked cornbread nuggets all over my fingers. The only good thing about this place is that they keep it clean. read more

Nathan's in Oceanside. Stopped in on the first Sunday of September an a beautiful day to boot. The restaurant had few people in it. A young lady celebrating a birthday and sharing some cake with us and a few others. The manager came over to sing along for the song. The young lady Ashley was my server and took the order. She was sweet and I'd hire her. The place was clean and the bathrooms ok but the soap did not work in the Ladies room, I made sure no one was in the Mens room and quickly got some soap from there! The tables were not even or level and lots of napkins fixed that, along with a few extra for the tasty but messy food. Franks, Burgers and fries were good and the Nathan's standard. A bit surprised to see it so empty, but then again not really on a great weather Labor Day weekend people were probably grilling up some of their own. read more

09/14/2024@5:10pm. I am currently sitting in this place and I told the person who said he was the manager that my fries weren't cooked properly and he just stares at me with his mouth open. Since he couldn't speak I told him I was throwing them and the hotdog out. He then comes to my table and sweeps the floor around me. This place got $11 of my hard earned money. I'm not wealthy I'm a senior. read more

My husband has been looking for an authentic Nathan's and we finally found it in Oceanside. We happened to be in the area to get an appliance fixed and happily saw the Nathan's sign. Every other Nathan's we've seen, whether a storefront or at a ballpark, did not have the REAL Nathan's hot dogs. Giving this place 5 stars because it was exactly what my husband was looking for. He ordered 2 hot dogs with a large combo. I got the hot dog with chili, cheese and bacon. I was in that kind of a mood. The hot dog had that nice Nathan's snap! If you're looking for the real deal Nathan's hot dogs, they are here. Not sure why Nathan's allows their name to be associated with the fake Nathan hot dogs... read more

I visited this restaurant last weekend and I tried the chicken sandwich. It was delicious and prepared well. The cashier was very nice and told us about new items that were available on the menu. We stayed to eat our food and food was brought to us at our table. Everything tasted good and the restaurant wasn't crowded. I always loved Nathan's and I know that I will return here soon. I will also tell everyone I know about this location. read more

Have never been to this location even though I always pass it. My kids and I were hungry after shopping and stopped here for a quick bite. I remembered the chicken tenders at the Coney Island location being so crunchy and delicious so they were on my mind. I shoulda stuck to what I know like my kids did. They both had the hot dog combo. My chicken tenders were not great. The breading was falling off of them once I cut into them and they were not crispy more like w soft breading and soft on the inside. Not one to eat something I do not like I politely asked if I could exchange it for a burger. The staff was very courteous and did not hesitate to accommodate me. I ended up getting a burger which was also very mediocre. Moral of the story I'll stick to hot dogs when I go to Nathan's. read more

Nathan's is one of my (way too many) truly guilty pleasures! I give them 5 stars because they give get exactly what you want if you are coming here. You don't come here for gourmet pretentious over hyped food. You come here for snappy salty goodness in a bun! You come here for simple crispy but pillowy/potatoey fries! And now you can wash it all down with a decent shake. I got strawberry but they also have Ghirardelli chocolate and some other "premium" (yes, that is what they call them) shake. Not the best you will get but actually pretty good. I did not get it but they also have one of those Coca Cola all flavors dispensers that let you make your own soda concoctions. This is the last real Nathan's on Long Island so I would be very sad to see it go as Coney Island is such a pain to get to! There is a Nathan's licensee in Commack but their dogs do not have snap or flavor of the originals. Make the trip! read more

If you like hot dogs made up of 50% salt judging by the nasty taste this now is unfortunately the place..."times are a changing " Last time it was the fries that were inedible due to heavy salt dosing. Lots of seniors with high blood pressure could stroke out on the high sodium dosing! What is their problem, and what is the salt added to hide? Or is it just to sell high markup fountain drinks in the summer? Both could be the case. Someone in charge is asleep at the wheel and wrecking a formerly great recipe. read more

Found this location after realizing that their other location closer to Party City had closed down. Guess a lot has changed since going away for college, huh? I was in search of some hush puppies and found this location on google thinking it was the old location. This place is pretty big! And it is located right on the corner, hard to miss. I went in around 7:30pm and there was no line, just people waiting on their food and a very empty kitchen with 2 people working inside. Most of the store was empty. The whole place is very colorful and had a lot of Nathan's lights and signs for free wifi. Definitely a good place to hangout if you're just looking for somewhere to chill. Just around 5 people were dining in, but somehow parking was busy outside. The cashier was friendly. I ordered the fish and chips dish which came with 2 pieces of fried fish, a ton of fries, cole slaw, and hush puppies. You have to ask for sauces. The fried fish and cole slaw were really good. I was originally craving hush puppies, but after smelling them in the car as soon as I opened the lid, it smelled like it was fried with old oil. The fries were very dark but not very crunchy. They didn't taste very fresh. I don't expect to get my food super fast since it was fried fish, but at least make it fresh. Maybe it is because it was a slow night so they didn't want to fry a fresh batch for each customer? Disappointed. read more

The flounder sandwich was very well made, enough pickles to fit the filet, a good amount of romaine lettuce, and the bun was nice. The large fries weren't large at all, can't imagine the portion of a small fries. The lemonade was sour, not to be confused with the tartness of usual lemonade. This was a sour like it's been sitting out for days. The drink completely messed the meal up. Absolutely disgusting! read more

As always when I travel to this part of the country, must pop into Nathan's. The hot dogs were great and the onion rings portion was a lot bigger than I expected, but you could taste the freshness. I haven't been to Nathan's since the old location closed when I was like 12. Came back, and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was just nostalgia, but the food was genuinely as good as I remember. The dogs were nice and crispy, the cheese fries were good, and the shake had a nice flavor and consistency. The staff was also really nice. The only knock was that some of the tables were a little dirty, and it was a little more expensive than I was expecting. read more

They forgot to bring out my friend's food and the miserly manager pretended to not notice. The assistant manager kindly addressed the problem and threw in a free hotdog, but her manager overruled it and didn't give us the hotdog, making a nonsense excuse. Service sucks. Trying to modify an order is like telling them calculus. Was in the area and saw a sign for Nathan's and my heart got all excited as I love the hotdogs and fries. I went in and first thing to happen is the power dies and then comes back on. I knew that had to be a bad omen to start things off. I get to the register and I ask for 2 hot dogs and a fries to go. The woman behind the counter very apologetically said that they had a smoke problem in the morning and gas company turned off there grills so they had no hot dogs or hamburgers???? I got an order of fries to go and was extremely disappointed. Why have your doors open at all if your main staple is not available for purchase??????????? The store itself is nice and has plenty of seating. The woman was very nice and friendly and apologized several times, Unfortunately I already had in my mind the taste of a nice hotdog. Although service was excellent i wanted a hotdog and could not get one very disapointed. If in the area I properly would giver them a second chance to make up for this hurendous error in judgement. read more
