After breaking down on our way to San Diego for vacation, Valley Transmission was able to squeeze us into their already busy schedule to diagnose the problem. I was prepared for the worst, expecting that we would need to replace the transmission at a cost of around $6,000. Thankfully, they took the time to properly diagnose the issue and discovered that the problem was actually a faulty seal on the high-pressure switch, which was causing the transmission fluid to leak. Rather than recommending an expensive replacement, they performed the relatively minor repair and thoroughly tested their work before returning the vehicle to us. While the diagnostic fee was on the high side, it was absolutely worth it. We walked out with a $500 repair bill instead of several thousand dollars. Considering they worked us into their busy schedule to accommodate our vacation plans, I felt the price was more than fair. They even recommended that we drive the vehicle for a day or two before making the trip back home to Arizona. I wanted to wait until we got home before leaving this review to make sure the repair held up over the 300+ mile drive--and it did! I truly appreciate the honesty, quality workmanship, and outstanding customer service we received. It's refreshing to find a shop that takes the time to diagnose a problem correctly rather than jumping straight to an expensive replacement. Paul was so funny and very knowledgeable. He explained the whole process of their inspection and what steps they were going to take. I had a code reader at home but that was nothing compared to Paul's extensive knowledge of vehicles and Transmissions. He only kept my vehicle for the time quoted and didn't go above the price quoted either. He stayed in Communication with me over the phone during the time they had my vehicle too. I called about a week and a half ago, around June 1st, to schedule a transmission service for my car. This shop was recommended to me by a family member and this shop did rebuild the transmission for my car about 8 months ago, so I figured I would give them repeat business. When I called, I asked to make an appointment for a Saturday morning and made it abundantly clear that I wanted to make sure someone would be at the shop because I was driving from over 30 miles away. They assured me a Saturday morning appointment would work. Well, Saturday the 10th rolls around. I wake up at 6:00am on my day off to make sure I get through caring for all the animals on the property and leave with enough time as to not keep the shop waiting. I show up exactly at 9am at the the shop, and nobody is there. I called the number I could find for the shop, and the lady that answered let me know she was "really sorry and forgot to cancel [my] appointment, but I did cancel all the other appointments I had on the calendar today." REALLY?! You remembered to call everyone you had scheduled EXCEPT for me, the one who was probably driving from the furthest distance?! AFTER I made that clear when I set the appointment?! Your apology did not put fuel in our vehicles, nor did it get back the hour and a half we spent driving, nor did it negate the fact that I had to wake up at the crack of dawn on my day off to accommodate YOUR weekend schedule. I will never give this shop my business again, nor will I ever recommend them. Their property looks like a junkyard, to boot. I may pay a little more elsewhere, but I'll get the service I expect (which is the bare minimum for customer service. I don't ask for a lot).

Sparks told me "look, it's been strong for the last 130k miles, all you need is a stock rebuild to get you another (at least) 120k miles" I don't tow anything with it, it has an intake and exhaust, no power adders leveled in 35's. It's not a monster truck doing heavy hauling. It's been about 2 months so far and it rejuvenated my love for the truck...now if I can afford the fuel bill to drive it But it came with a 3 year 36k mile warranty and they said if anything happens just bring it in and they'll take care of it. Oh, almost forgot. I had some upgraded parts and new parts to install and they did that for no extra charge when they put it back together .

He did a quick preliminary diagnosis and gave me a fair quote for the alternator parts and labor. A few hours later, instead of just doing the expensive repair, he called me and explained that the alternator was actually fine -- the real problem was a wire that was shorting out and causing the symptoms. The repair ended up costing significantly less than expected because they were honest enough to fix the actual issue instead of replacing parts I didn't need. I also had them change the fluids and filters while it was there. He said it looked like my spark plugs needed changing as well. Everything was completed quickly and professionally. I'm so grateful I made this error (they don't do state inspections) because Joseph, the owner's son and partner, was an absolute savior. I knew I needed a new catalytic converter and all my check engine lights were on. Joseph kindly checked all the lights and told me exactly what each meant and then reset them, instructing me to return to the shop after a few weeks to see if I was ready for inspection. He refused to take any money, though I offered to pay him for his time. Unfortunately, my lights came back on before I could get it inspected, but Joseph's help and kindness were what I truly needed to buy the the time to figure out a plan for next steps. I'm definitely going to return if I need transmission work, as it's rare to find a mechanic who is honest and kind and doesn't try to rip you off. Highly recommended!

Personally had them service my truck and add a deeper transmission pan because when I tow my temps get hot. They not only installed the part and serviced my transmission , they kept it at the same price they quoted me, not like some of these other shops that give you a quote and then it changes after service is completed. Highly recommend would definitely come back.
