Upon looking at our mower, they told us it would be best to not even go through the trouble of a diagnostic test...it simply would not be worth their time and OUR money. How freaking honest was that? You never get that anywhere else I have been. Upon realizing we needed to replace our old mower, the owner suggested buying a used one from them that they had in stock. It was the perfect replacement for us, and we felt good about purchasing from people who actually work on mowers. I am proud of this small business and I suggest anyone who has issues with mowers or snow blowers, please give them a visit. I also declined additional work, including a tune-up and replacement front tires because it would have been right at $300. When I picked up the mower, it turned on there but when I got it home to cut the grass it ONLY turned on for a few seconds, and stopped completely. So I took it to another repair shop. The owner wasn't a thief, he did all the things R&R wanted to do for up to $300 for only $90. Based on my experience with R&R, I would recommend getting a detailed estimate before authorizing any work. I've also seen reports that customers may be contacted after leaving negative reviews, which I find concerning but have someone to handle their harassment. After using the bet to search for a repair center, came upon this small, independent shop. I always use "local" when I can and try to stay away from the huge, big box companies. Took this saw to them & within 15 minutes, Len had the saw repaired plus he patiently answered all my questions. When i asked what the charge was, he stated that there would be "no charge" as he also learned about my saw. This would help him should he ever encounter this item/problem again. I have a 2 lawn mowers & 1 snow blower needing repair & this "local" company WILL be getting all my business in the future. I drive over an hour to get look at a spartan mower. Overall the experience was great. They took the time to explain everything to me never felt pressured to buy a bigger model. I felt they were strictly giving the information I needed so that I could make an informed decision. Price was the best I found around. I added a few small upgrades at a super reasonable price. All the staff I met were very polite. The other shoppers that stopped while I was there seemed very happy with their service as well. I never thought I would come back after my purchase just because of the drive but I think I was wrong. This place is definitely a great mom and pop shop that I wish we had in my home town.
