He tested the tank and found everything was fine, he did some more inspecting and found it was just a clogged filter and it would cost $5 plus the service fee of $90. It was the bad filter keeping g my pressure down. I still paid Thayer the exorbitant $125 service call but will never call them for anything again.

We had John from HL Thayer out today and he replaced the cap and sanitized our well for a fair price and was VERY customer-service oriented, explaining not only this procedure, but questions we have about our current well equipment setup. We just replaced the pump and tank in Oct 2011 through another company, and while they were nice folks, it turns out the installation they did for us is less than optimal. Some companies would have seen this as an immediate selling opportunity, but John instead took the time to walk us through it all, and recommended we just continue as-is until replacement becomes necessary, at which point we will reconfigure more optimally. Well, THAT is how you build customer relationships and not just make a quick sale - by establishing trust and educating your customer. Also, on a more personal note, he assured me that he was expecting much worse, because most times when well caps get run over there is far more damage - and that made me feel a little bit better about my boneheadedness yesterday. HEY! Psychological support at no extra charge! :) We will be using Thayer for all of our well needs moving forward. Recommended!

He said they have it and will have to come back. He came back with a system that was NOT negative pressure. Cleaned only about 50% of the ducts cause his system would not work on flex pipes. They also wanted a 50% deposit to schedule it. So I wasted $450 and will have to call another company to actually clean the ducts. waste of many run away!

Their fee was $250 to come out which I had accepted. Now the appointment is where my 2 stars come from. The kid they sent out didn't know squat about my fireplace (and well neither did I since I had just moved into the house). After him taking apart the log set going in my attic and my basement and fooling around a bit, he told me it would cost me thousands of dollars because of XYZ- including basement ceiling and walls being ripped out. Also said I needed a new log set and nothing was to code (My house was built in 98) Well come to find out after I reached someone else for a second opinion my remote setting needed to be turned off (because I was never given a remote) and then BAM we had fire. It was just a setting that had to be changed and a wire moved basically. Took him all of 15 minutes max and $120 service fee.

He asked my husband to show him the furnace, my husband walked away for about 10 minutes, when the technician came back upstairs he stated to me that the Motherboard needed to be replaced, My furnance is only 5 years old and there's no way the Motherboard should be malfunctioning. When I begin to question why the Motherboard went out in a year, the technician did not have an answer he stated I did not have to pay, My neighbor Ms. Tolbert had the same problem and she also used the Lyons who told her the Motherboard was out on her furnance also. This company technicians come out to look at your furnance and it always needs a major repair. Lyons Technicians comes out and actually damage the item you called them to repair so they can charge you more. I have a Lennox furnace that's only 5 years old. Just because I don't live in the hood don't mean I want to pay more for my services.

I call this company about an excessive amount of sediment in my filters. Over the phone Stacey…read morestated that it was probably due to rotted galvanized fittings they installed 25 years ago and need to be switched out with brass. I said ok, what does that typically run and she said about $450 and I can have them out tomorrow or possibly same day and I agreed. When Tim and James showed up, Tim say's, I hear you do not have water. I corrected him and told him my issues, as we have water and is running as it should. We went to the tank and filters and he said everything seems fine and working as it should. I once again mentioned the excessive sediment in the filter. He stated that they could do a flush and it may help. I asked what that would run and he said about 1.5 of labor plus material. I agreed as it was less than the $450 over the phone. After about 30-45 minutes they could not get the pump out of the well. Tim stated that they do not usually see this but there maybe a screen attached and it is getting caught. So after getting the pump stuck they decided to finally get the well records to see if there is a screen attached. I told him to forget about it and to just put everything back, he stated that he can't do that as they got it stuck and will need to go get the bigger truck to get it out and a chainsaw to cut out my bushes. I asked what that will do and he said need to remove bushes to get to well and the truck will pull the pump out and that the cost was obviously going up a little. (Not that fetching the truck is a $500 fee). I said that I would cut the bushes myself as I do not want to be charged for demolition of my property. Once they got the truck and got the pump out, came to me to recommend a new pump($1875 + new pipe + new wire) Over $3k quote for what was supposed to be a simple service. I opted out of the new pump as the old one worked just fine and he recommended that they at least change pipe and wire or the next time would run into same issue. I agreed to new pipe and wire. ($400-$450) in additional material. They completed the work after I left the home and dropped an invoice with my mother for $1257! Well records are available to the public and yet this wasn't pulled until there was a complication/issue. If this would have been pulled before hand you would have know there was a screen installed and wouldn't have kept yanking on it and get it stuck. Then proceed to go get a larger truck and not tell the customer that it will cost them $500 just for that alone. Find yourself a well company that will do what is best for the customer and not their bank account.

At the 11th hour, I was told that the owner had misplaced his insurance during an office move. When I pressed them to get a copy from his insurance company, I was informed that the owner had let the insurance lapse for some time. Wasted a week of my time and left me running a potentially dangerous furnace in December. Owner also hung his technician out to dry, having his technician deliver the news who ultimately won't be able to work due to the owners misleading tactics.

The tech did not attempt to sell us a new furnace and was very thorough in his diagnostic. He had mentioned that the age of the Furnace was an issue potentially due to the increased chances of a failed heat exchanger. This is the number one cause of Carmen exit poisoning in homes. So he made sure that the heat exchanger was in good shape as well as the flue pipe, and went about his repair. The furnace works better than it has since we moved in! I had 3 contractors come out and evaluate my air conditioner on one of the hottest weeks we had here recently, I will not mention the other contractors but I do have to tell you I was very disappointed in the up front charge to diagnose the problem with our unit, not only diagnostic charge but travel charge, now I get gas prices are high but this contractor is only 6 minutes up the road and they still added $50 to the charge, they left without fixing the problem and were pushing us to buy a new unit. The young man that came to our house from Allyson at no charge, diagnosed the problem and fixed it that same day for a lot less than the others wanted, very professional and easy to talk to, I just have to mention that I also bought a new thermostat from him that he installed that day and came away costing me less than what the others were trying to charge me just to replace the motor on the unit. I will be recommending Allyson to everyone I know in the future, you would be wise to call them before you waste your money with the others in our area (Burton, Mi.).
