I have been a patient of this facility for over 10 years and this last time I went in October of 2025 for myself and my 3 sons, my insurances were not ran until after the procedures, leaving it up to me to pay out of pocket. I paid a small amount and had to call multiple times back and forth between the insurance and the front office in order to get small minor problems fixed such as the billing department not sending all the claims or sending in my sons incorrect date of birth resulting in claims being denied. I had to place multiple follow up calls in order to confirm claims were sent and received because I would never get return calls or updates and of course if they were declined, no one would inform me. In fact I had to call with my insurance on 3 way to even get any answers from the front office and wait to confirm they finally received the claims. Also, now that the front office finally received all the payments- I asked to speak with the front office manager about my experience and was told she would call me back. I also was told I would receive a refund and wouldn't you know- I'm still waiting. This has been ongoing for 5 months. It's disappointing because I had to basically act as the billing department myself. Again, the dentist is great as well as the dental assistants- so if you go be sure to make sure your insurance is ran ahead and cleared because you will be completely on your own to figure it all out.

The lack of communication regarding his exit was alarming; not only were we unaware of his departure, but the office also transitioned his patients to Dr. Malinoff without any prior notice. Reluctantly, my family and I chose to stay, hoping the quality of care would remain at the high standard set by Dr. Jabaiti. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The front office staff has become increasingly rude and unprofessional. They lack transparency and have consistently failed to inform patients about significant changes. On multiple occasions, I have found myself on the phone only to have staff members hang up on me without explanation. Moreover, since Dr. Malinoff took over, I have faced numerous issues with insurance billing. Under Dr. Jabaiti's care, I never experienced any insurance denials, but now, treatments are being denied left and right. After contacting my insurance, I learned that Avra Dental was not submitting the necessary documentation for approval. Despite my persistence, the front office insisted that everything was submitted correctly. It took months of back-and-forth before they finally sent the right information, resulting in an eventual approval. The rudeness of the staff has made each interaction a struggle. We tolerated this behavior because Dr. Jabaiti was an exceptional dentist, but now it feels like the office is in complete disarray. To make matters worse, I was recently informed that they are no longer in contract with my insurance, and with appointments looming for myself and family members, this left us scrambling to find a new dentist. There was no prior notice about this change, forcing us to rush and find alternatives. When I called my insurance to clarify, they explained that Avra Dental chose to stop accepting my insurance, despite the fact that they were still in-network. After persistent emails, I finally received my dental records to facilitate the transition to a new provider. However, for a family member's treatment, they had to go through multiple temporaries, and the assistants did not do a proper job. One temporary fell off in just one day! In summary, Avra Dental has become a source of stress rather than care. Save yourself the hassle and seek a dental office that values communication and patient care.

But based on what my insurance would cover annually I wanted this to be done in December and January . Only wanted the one extraction at this time . I was talked into a plan with sedation and all extractions with a final out of pocket of $5400 which the had me apply for credit n the spot . I was informed the afternoon before the extractions that I was underquoted $1270 insurance would not pay . I asked how they arrived at my out of pocket without first putting it through the insurance got a lame excuse now they have split my dentures upper and lower I've had only 3 removed and the $725 sedation couldn't happen due to my sleep apnea which was on my medical chart. Before . They had to use a local to remove. And Dr Ely only there 1 day per month was too. Busy and needed to numb me up again as it was wearing off by the time he got to me BuT DIDNT and began to pull as I kicked off my shoes I've never had a dentist continue after expressing the feeling of pain twice . They will not be finishing my PLAN which was overpriced to begin with cmon $1000.00 per temporary dentures. Yes that's x2! Absurd and no discount of $725 for the sedation as they claim to have used bone graft which I don't think they could have even put in in the 10 minute he jerked 3 teeth out more than unhappy fins another place to go REALLY!
