The worst. Until I switched I had no idea the issues I had. It was suggested that my silver filling be replaced which resulted in the need for a root canal and crown at a cost of $4k! I'm afraid the other tooth she repaired may end up the same. It was also recommended that I have a deep cleaning and scaling due to gum issues. I have now been referred to a periodontist who said the deep cleaning was subpar and that I should have been referred to a specialist. My dentist said the filling/bonding was bad and the filling almost flew out. Both the dentist and the periodontist were concerned with my prior care. read more

Truly amazing dentist and team. I have been seeing Dr Shifman for at least 16 years and we have had different specific issues and dental emergencies from playing sports. They are caring and extremely qualified at what they do. Dr Shifman did amazing cosmetic dentistry for my husband when he broke several teeth playing soccer twelve years ago. His veneers still look amazing and natural. This office has been able to care for my disabled mother in her various stages of dental needs and they are AMAZING with children. Emax. I am in total fear of trying a dentist after she lied to me about both teeth she used emax on that began to crumble. She blamed it on stomach acid yet every tooth she didn't fix never had a problem (25 year old work!) except those emax. The guy she sent me to to color the only tooth she would replace said that is absolutely not true no matter how bad the acid is. I lost the back tooth. Fear! Panic. The tooth next to it lost the crown. So both my back teeth are gone. My $3,000 straight teeth have shifted and overlap and I am freaked out now knowing how bad a dentist can fuck up your teeth and not be responsible. I cannot afford to have the mess she left repaired. SHE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SMILE ONLY MONEY or she would have replaced both no shape emax lump of material crumbling back teeth where emax is not recommended for. I never was afraid of the dentist until she refused to fix my original emax tooth and lied. If there had been a problem with the tooth in front of the one I lost I WOULD HAVE PAID NOT TO LOSE THAT TOOTH TOO. And By The Way - My cousin and brother had the exact same problem with their emax teeth and they don't have acid. She should fix both teeth for free. The staff are incredibly nice here. There is essentially no discomfort experienced at this place. At other dentists I wouldn't get jaw rests for 2+ hour procedures. I wouldn't get the level of compassion in my diagnosis and treatment. At other dentists were so aggressive and did not address my requests and help prevent any pain. I have NEVER felt that here. This place will be the only dentist I go to for now on. read more

By far the best dentist experience ever and I'm not fond of going to the dentist. Everyone in the office is friendly which is great but I loved that they explained what they were doing throughout the procedures. Dr. Shifman's anesthetic skills amazed me, I felt zero pain. They followed up to see how I was doing which says a lot to me. Great experience at North Bank Dental for my recent dental work. Needed two new fillings, plus an old one repaired. Office staff was very courteous and professional, and I found Dr. Shifman to be very skillful (gentle) all the while being very attentive / watchful of any patient needs or pains. Extremely smooth, pain-free operation from the moment I walked into the office, to the moment I left. In particular, I found Dr. S's explanations / ability to show me precisely where the problem areas were before, during, and after the work very enlightening. I.e., a cavity that at first look in the mirror appeared to be a minor smudge on the tooth was clearly / obviously a prominent cavity by the next look in the mirror after her surface preparation work, and then totally 100% imperceptible at the final look in the mirror with the resin filling in place. ** Thought the flat-panel TV's mounted on the ceiling of each room (for patients undergoing longer procedures) was an pretty novel/creative idea. I genuinely cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Shifman and her staff. After my first cleaning I KNEW I'd never go anywhere else ever again for my dental needs. EVER. I've never written a Yelp review before and it's surprising that my first is for a dentist but I honestly want people to know what an incredible experience I've had with Dr. Shifman! It had been nearly 5 years since my last cleaning so I was expecting the worst and asked about options. I got the nitrous oxide gas mostly to help me through the anxiety of someone clawing at my teeth with sharp metal objects. It worked wonderfully!! So wonderfully that I wondered if I really needed it. Afterwards I met with Dr. Shifman to discuss the option of porcelain veneers on some front teeth and to get her professional opinion. I walked out of the office knowing the cost, the process and the timeline. I couldn't have asked for a more up front and detailed consultation. I talked it over with my husband and made an appointment for my veneers. The process is nothing to sneeze at but I didn't feel a thing. Not one thing. And never once did I see the syringe which is a big deal for me. After having multiple teeth pulled as a teenager and the dentist placing all of his tools out in plain view I've been quite anxious about going to the dentist. Dr. Shifman constantly checked with me, made sure I was comfortable, pain free and as if by magic the syringe was never in my sight. This was more than a dental procedure for her, I could tell. It is VERY apparent that she is incredibly detail-oriented and dedicated to doing the job right and taking GREAT care of her patient - exactly what you want in a dentist!! After having the temporary veneers placed on she personally called me to check in, see if I liked the size, was in any discomfort, etc. She did the same after the permanent veneers were on, too. The results? My smile is gorgeous! Incredible! I can't tell you the compliments I've received on my new veneers. I smile with confidence now. Immediately after leaving her office for my permanent veneers I went out and bought gorgeous red lipstick to show off my smile. I owe it all to Dr. Shifman, her gentle hands, incredible professionalism and her hardworking, kind staff. I've recently gone back for a cleaning since having my veneers put on and I didn't need nitrous. No pain at all. Not even a little. Seriously.
