Excellent first visit. Great customer care, a very nice open lobby and friendly staff. My hygienist was wonderful, and the doctor was very communicative and honest and friendly. Don't care for the TVs, but there was no volume and it was a nature show so it wasn't an issue. Can we choose what we want to watch or to turn them off? Looking forward to having care here, and that's saying something. Now that my old Dentist no longer takes my insurance I had to make a switch and while I appreciate and love the Care at the old place, I need to make sure my insurance can cover as much dental as possible! Highly recommend! read more

We never got to see this Dentist. In June we made an appointment directly through Dr. White (office was closed but she graciously answered the phone & scheduled us for consecutive appointments at 2PM 7/23. We received a text about a week ago, and my wife replied we'd be there, not noticing that at the bottom of the text the time had been changed to 1PM. PLEASE BELIEVE THE ONE-STAR REVIEWS DETAILING SCHEDULING ISSUES, (We aren't the first potential patients to have this exact rigmarole used on them - considering the office's love of charging for appointment snafu's, I wonder if this is entirely coincidental...?) When you receive a confirmation text, they are so 'pro forma' that you don't expect important info to be buried at the bottom. Anyhow, I guess our search for an office will continue. read more

I cannot recommend this office due to a total disconnect in patient care, lack of of transparent billing, bullying/retaliatory behavior, and defensive management. The Hygiene Concerns: On my first visit, a hygienist adjusted her chair with a gloved hand and immediately went back to working inside my mouth. When I brought this up, I was told by the front desk person these surfaces are always covered, but on my next visit, the I saw that the chair handle had no protective barrier. Instead, the hygienist stood the entire treatment session my next two visits. First gaslight. Second gaslight, Dr. Mary expressed to me herself that she wanted and was always open to feedback, but this was not true. The Dismissive Response: I ended up canceling mid-treatment, deciding to find a different provider due to a lack of a treatment plan and transparent billing. When I tried to communicate additional patient care issues, I was met with extreme resistance. The office sent me a message listing Dr. White's credentials (USC, UCLA, 30 years of practice) and explicitly stated she "is comfortable with how she practices." Expertise does not excuse poor hygiene and retaliatory ethics. The Billing & Retaliation: I was balance-billed above my insurance network's contracted rates. After waiting two weeks for a refund because there was no confirmation until an email stating that it had been ready for some time came through, I went to pick up the check. Upon arrival to dental office, Dr. White flatly told me she was withholding my money because I filed a complaint with Delta Dental about the balance billing and lack of treatment plan/pricing transparency. While I was in my car calling insurance, a staff member waved me back in stating that Dr. White was offering the check to me. When I went into the office Dr. White showed the check and quickly pulled it away saying I could have it only if I signed a document. When I asked why she changed her mind, she said she wanted to ensure she'd never see me again. I left without the money to let insurance handle it from there on. read more

Terrible office staff. Great dentist. They cancelled the appointment on the same day as the appointment after time was taken off of work to attend. They said they would call back to reschedule, and nothing. They practice retaliatory behavior. They're quick to bill you for a missed appointment or cancellation, but when they do it nothing happens. Well, here's my bill. read more

Quality Care and customer service. Dr. White is very friendly and personable. You don't feel rushed like you are just a number. When I changed insurance, she wasn't with the network, or I would still be going to her read more

Mary has been taking care of my dental needs for the past 4 years and does an incredible job! The service is excellent, the quality of her work is first class! I have had multiple crowns, night guards, fillings & cleanings. Mary's team is the best dental group I have worked with in the US. They alway make you feel welcome and are highly skilled. I give Mary White my highest recommendation read more

I am very sad to leave a negative review because Dr. Mary White has always been very kind. However, I have had a very frustrating experience with this office. I called nearly a dozen times with a question about my tooth and was repeatedly promised a callback, but I never received a response. I ultimately went to a different dentist in town, where I was met with prompt communication, thorough information, and immediate resolution of my issue. read more

I had an appointment cancelled a few months ago because a hygienist was unable to work. Understandable. However, they were unable to reschedule me for several months. Obviously my original appointment was because I needed some attention paid to my teeth. I noticed that their policy is that if I were to cancel 24 hours before my appointment, I would be liable for paying 75 dollars. I pointed this conflict out and it was admitted that there is a double standard but one she is happy with. A business model. I would like a dentist that was concerned with providing timely dental care to their patients and not solely following the profit business model. Despite the strained cheerfulness, the cookies and candy, this is a business, and one that may not serve the patient. read more

After being a patient of Dr. Mary White for 5 years and being told every 4 months after my cleaning that everything was great, the following happened: we found a new dentist with state of the art equipment. The doctor found 1 cavity, 2 previous root canals with minor infection, and 2 leaking crowns . Between the new dentist and endodontist treatments, it will cost about $8,000 to $10,000. All of this had existed for some time, but without the more modern equipment, it would have remained undiagnosed. So remember, no news isn't always good news! read more

Horrible experience. She redid my crown with a giant food Gap. She made me sign something saying if fit while I was still numb immediately after placing the crown. I went back to ask her to redo it and she refused. Only 6 months later I went to another dentist and they said The prep was incredibly inadequate and the crown was installed on top of a rotting tooth. It had to be redone. I found out when it was redone that she overcharged me by $250 for the crown she did. Trash dentist. read more

Was late for appointment. Rescheduled for noon the following month.. They called the day before the new appointment and said I could not come in unless I paid $45 missed appointment fee. Their advertised rate is $27, not $45. I said I would pay the normal rate of $27, not $45. After some back and forth, they agreed. While talking to them, I discovered my appointment had been moved up to ll:30. No one had notified me of time change. At my appointment, I asked about veneers. Mary said her office manager would call with some pricing. I never heard from her. Will be looking for dentist with better customer service skills. read more

Mary White delivers a profoundly different overall attitude and experience than any other dentist I've ever visited. Her dental expertise is everything you hope it will be. She is gentle, kind, communicative, insightful, and maintains expert technique. Still, it's her commitment to her patients, and her warm spirit, that sets her even further apart from others. I have twice seen her with relative emergencies late on a Friday afternoon, which she got squared away for me at great persona effort, and she always ALWAYS works hard to make sure my needs are efficiently and completely met. Her office and people are a study in laughter, kindness, and efficiency, and the entire experience makes the dentistry side no big deal. Thanks, Dr. White! :) read more

When I moved to Ventura County in 2019, I left a dentist I had for 25 years. So was concerned that I would not find the same knowledgeable, professional, and caring dentist in Ventura. Two years ago I found such a dentist and recently I needed extra counseling about a condition I needed help on. Dr Mary White was extremely helpful, saw me right away and all my concerns were answered. Thank you very much Doctor White. I highly recommend her and her excellent staff. read more

I had a great first visit with Dr Mary White today. I haven't been to the dentist in a ...well let's say a decade or so, and I was nervous about being tooth shamed :) She was gentile, friendly and explained every process - she took x-rays and did my first cleaning. There were parts of my teeth that I thought were cavities, but are now white due to them being cleaned properly and finally. Dr White is guiding me on my way to some more complicated dental issues ( due to still having 2 of my baby teeth at 52 !) and I am really happy that she was recommended not only by my boss, but a number of my clients. Really great place. Gentile and kind. I actually look forward to going back in a little while for a full cleaning and start the work on my baby teeth. read more

Worst dentist I have ever gone to. Please go somewhere else if you want good dental work. She replaced three crowns for me. Two of them fell off within weeks and the third one she put on over a cavity and it has to be replaced. I would have gone back to have her fix her errors but when I showed up for my appointment they told me I had cancelled it which I never did. Then they wouldn't reschedule in a timely manner. I found a wonderful dentist that has fixed two of her mistakes and will fix the third one next week. I would give her zero stars if that were possible. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this office. read more

Called for a first time visit/cleaning. Asked them to check my insurance and everything checked out. The day of my appointment I left work 2 hours early, drove 30 mins in traffic only to be told that there was a problem with my insurance when I had arrived IN OFFICE. Nobody called to inform me prior. I Left there upset. no cleaning or services were done. Waste of time. New year different insurance I thought i'd give them a second chance, big mistake. I called for a cleaning and scheduled. 2 days before was told by text message I had a 75 dollar fee for prior appt missed? What?? First time I had heard this in 6 months. No call or mail? I called immediately and explained I was there and they didn't do their due diligence by checking my insurance like I had first asked when I originally called. They not only dropped the ball but tried to blame me and charge me for a mistake on their end that could have been avoided had they checked my insurance when I called. Horrible. I immediately canceled after talking to a staff member who was no help and informed me I wouldn't be allowed services if the 75 dollars was not paid. Canceled. Moving on. read more

I really liked her and even made an appointment for my daughter to come in - sadly I had to cancel my daughter's appointment the day of because she had a seizure! I apologized but explained that we were unable to predict this happening. THE LATE CANCELLATION FEE WAS NOT WAVED! read more

Dr. Mary White and her team make me feel like family every time I walk in the door. You will be greeted with smiles, kindness, and usually some homemade cookies. I have never felt more welcomed in a dental or medical environment. They remember details about my personal life. In addition, the office is always impeccably clean and pristine. They will even show you movies or TV shows during your appointment! They take time to make sure that my smile and cleaning is thorough and that I always see Dr. White before I leave. I have never felt rushed. Once, due to the fact that I changed my number, I showed up to the office and my appointment had been cancelled because I had not responded with a confirmation. They were able to fit me into the schedule and accommodate the miscommunication. I was so appreciative (especially because I was 8 months pregnant at the time! LOL) Dr. White made me like going to the dentist for the first time in my life. I always recommend her to all of my local friends. read more

Came for a second opinion (used to come here but moved away) and she saved me $2000 or more.

This has to be the most dishonest Dentist in the County and maybe the State of California. I have been a patient for years and all of my Dental work that was done is starting to fall apart. I had a Crown that broke within a month after being Installed and every time I went in for my appointment or the day of my appointment the office girl Dawn called and rescheduled me for another day. It was about 8 times that I have been rescheduled which was Dr white Goal of not having to replace my crown after she had promised me That she will replace it at no cost. If you want a Honest Dentist or A Office that will treat you like they care Please stay far away from Dr White and her Staff. It wouldn't be surprising if patients took her to court or She lost her license very unprofessional and Not trustworthy at all. read more

On top of my last review, they have now billed my insurance company for a visit that I never made, taking away money for future dental visits (with another dentist). That is fraudulent. read more

I recently moved to Ventura and needed to find a new dentist. I have always been nervous at the dentist office and was weary about trying a new place. Dr. White's staff was very friendly and accommodating when making the appointment. I mixed up the appointment time and was 20 minutes late. They did not make me feel bad at all about the mistake and were still able to see me for a cleaning and exam. Everyone at the office was friendly and professional. The office is nicely decorated, very clean and made me feel comfortable. The teeth cleaning was gentle but thorough. A previous dentist told me I needed to replace all my fillings for medical purposes with white ones. It was going to cost a fortune so I kept putting it off. Dr. White assured me this was not necessary and my fillings were perfectly fine. Replacing them with white ones would only be for aesthetic reasons. I appreciated her honestly and was relieved to hear I did not need any work done. She definitely cares about the patient's health and not making $$ off unnecessary work. Dr. White and her staff even gave me great recommendations for local stores since they knew I had just moved to the area. Overall I am thrilled to have found a wonderful new dentist and will be coming back regularly! Thank you Dr. White and staff! read more

I just went to Mary White for a teeth cleaning. This was my first time going to her and she was so sweet and did a great job. She made sure I was comfortable and even let me pick something to watch as she has big screen TVs for her clients to watch as they get worked on. I'm so happy to find a great Dentist in Ventura. Thank you Mary, and thank you for the delicious chocolate chip cookies and new toothbrush. See you for my next cleaning in 6 months. read more

Let's face it going to dentist is not usually on the bucket list. But Dr. Mary White office should be for Ventura. Wonderful greetings a gentle touch , the office decor makes you feel relaxed. Absolute best dentist there is. When I didn't live locally I would wait to schedule appointments when I was back in town just so I could see Mary. I have been to several dentist that try to press you on treatments to ramp up your bill, Not Mary! Every time I go to her she gives me honest opinion, timelines and what is necessary now and what is not. She is always kind. Greets you with a smile. This place is honestly, the best! read more

Dr White was a God send for me! I was in town to attend a criminal trial and my bridge fell out this morning at the courthouse. I live 3 hours away and will be here the whole week. Dr White fit me in with 5 minutes notice so that I could be back to court after the lunch break and not miss any of the trial, which has been traumatic enough without this added stress! I am looking for a new dentist and if I lived nearby I would definitely make Dr White my new dentist! Btw her office staff is also extremely friendly, helpful and amazing! I don't write that many reviews unless something really stands out. I wrote a review about 6 years ago because even when I moved away for a bit, I still made the drive to see Dr. White. A few days ago, my Mom who is rather ill, had a toothache and she can't go out. Not just due to her health but of course we don't want to risk her getting the Coronavirus disease. Dr. White was so very kind to make time and stop by where my Mother is living in Oxnard. What a relief it is to know that some people really care about their patient. Thank you Dr. White! read more

Can you say FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. We moved here and were looking for a new dentist, which most of us know is the scariest kind of situation. We had even been driving back to our hometown 1-1/2 hours away the last 4 years because we were so scared of making the switch. Well, as luck would have it, i decided to take the plunge and I checked with Yelp and saw ALL HER GREAT REVIEWS and decided yep, I'm going to try her practice. #1 Upon making that first phone call, the receptionist was friendly, patient and so kind. I called to make a cleaning appointment and was able to get one the same week. #2 The dental Hygienist was so friendly, tender, and understanding in how a new and sometimes difficult changes can feel. My husband and i Felt like we knew her and she knew us for years after only our first visit. YES, she was that GOOD! #3 When we met Dr. White after our cleanings we were again both beyond happy. She is so personable and professional. Again, We felt YES! Why do we always wait to do these things. Today was the BEST!!! Last, but not least, we want to THANK Dr. Mary White and her entire Staff for making this experience so relaxing, calming and reassuring. We now know we have found "THE BEST DENTIST" in Ventura. read more

Dr. White is very personable and professional. I have been coming to her office for 2 and 1/2 years. Her entire staff is great! She always has fresh homemade cookies available at the reception desk. I have learned to hate going to the dentist and to expect unsympathetic intense pain. I was horrified when I lost my crown, but my wife told me to give Dr. White a try, so I did. WOW, what a fantastic experience. Everyone is fantastic and Dr. White is the definition of a great dentist. They put my anxieties to rest, I was comfortable, heck, I even had a neck pillow. I calmly watched nature shows and wouldn't mind just hanging out. At no time was I in pain or felt like I wanted to make a run for it. By the way, their kindness is not phony or patronizing, it is authentic and from the heart. read more

I was excited to make an appointment with this Dentist to become a new patient and get a cleaning. They said that they are keeping appointments spaced out for covid-19 and would call me back and set an appointment with me. They did and we booked an appointment 4 weeks out. The week of they text messaged me to confirm about 3 days prior to the appointment if I was still able to make it and I said yes and confirmed. The following day they contacted me and said that they could no longer keep the appointment and only had an earlier one. I have to give my work more notice in advance before I can take time off, so I told them I have to cancel the appointment and contact my manager. I called them back a few hours later and asked if they had anything the following week and they said they were booked monday thru wednesday but would look at thursday and friday and call me back. They never did. It sounds like they are disorganized and can't accept anything outside of what they have easily available then and now to have you come in. They never called back. I figured they wouldn't return my call again and contacted another dentist. No problems, made an appointment, confirmed it, got a cleaning and new patient exam and everything was smooth. I cannot recommend their services but find it difficult to recommend them at all, if they are this difficult in booking a simple cleaning appointment. New Patients be aware! read more

If you're new to Ventura and looking for a dentist look no further! My wife found Dr. Mary White for us when we moved here to Ventura. The staff is very friendly and they're there to answer your questions for you. About a couple weeks ago I had a little filling fell out of one of my teeth. I read all the great reviews and made my appointment in early May. It was a wonderful experience. I was seen promptly by the hygienist and she did an excellent job. It was determined that I needed a deeper cleaning that needed insurance approval. The dentist then came in and looked things over and was very friendly and good at her job. So what is my issue? I quickly received an EOB from my insurance saying they were waiting for information from the dentist and that the dentist was informed. That's normal. I forgot about this until September when I called the office. They told that they sent the information and never heard back. They called me back and told me that they were having trouble getting information from the insurance company. I called the insurance company and they had not received any information from the dentist's office. I called the insurance company again a few days later and they had just received the information, but it's now stale and I need to have my gums probed again. Ugh! Not fun. I certainly understand office errors, but I don't appreciate BS. If someone forgot to send it in, just be honest and say so. Unless I'm looking for some specialist, I'm looking for a good professional with an excellent front office that can schedule enough time for appointments and get the insurance taken care of properly. I had hoped that I found it here, but I was wrong. read more
