Tequila Mockingbird
Blain C.

My hubby's dad visited us on Sunday night. I'm here for it!! Good service. Delicious food and drinks. What more could I ask for?! You can take the MTS here or drive here. We got the Wagyu Crunch Wrap: Wagyu Skirt Steak, Lettuce, Cheddar, Tostada, Refried Beans, Pico de Gallo, Crema & Buffalo Chicken Sliders: Crispy Chicken Thighs, Brioche Bun, Blue Cheese Butter, Pickles. Side salad for me yum and fries for the men. The men also got beers & I got The Tequila Mockingbird. Delicious. Thank ya! Enjoy!

Craft beer up at the bar

I liked the vibe of this place! It was fairly small, but it was super convenient because it was attached to my hotel--Pendry. I love a brewery or beer hall, so I appreciated how they had an industrial type of ambience. I sat up at the bar and enjoyed an IPA craft beer. The bartender was okay, not overly friendly but not bad at all. I wish the kitchen was open later because their food menu looked good, but I wasn't hungry when I went, so I came back for food, but by that time, the kitchen had closed. It's a good spot if you're looking for a relaxed craft beer bar that's not overly casual and not rowdy at all.

Since we were staying the Pendry, we decided to check out Nason's, its connected by a door to the left of the check-in area of the hotel lobby. When you first enter, the decor is so bright & cheerful! Great atmosphere right away, and all throughout the restaurant. They had HH going on, which was a nice treat. There's the main room with the central bar, and then a back/game room that had a photo set-up for Christmas with a big chair and decorations. They also had some gaming machines and plenty of tables and benches. Lots of decor in all of the spaces, which I really liked. There's an outside patio that wraps around and so great for people watching. The service was ok. Two servers were not super friendly, but weren't rude either. The menus were so crumpled, that was a bit funny! I ordered a beer and we also got a well drink. Both pretty tasty and appreciated the discounted prices. Didn't order any food but we did see some being served and it looked good and nice portions.

Made a reservation for 8 before a concert. I arrive and there's no host. It's all open seating, zero table space. So we had to scramble to find somewhere else to direct everyone. Why the F even offer reservations on Open Table if your policy is open seating????? Ridiculous.

Man, this place is awesome.!!! I stopped in around 2:30 PM on a Monday to meet up with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar. Even for a Monday afternoon, the atmosphere was lively. It had a great energy - busy enough to feel fun, but still relaxed, not packed, and easy to actually enjoy your conversation. Their craft beer selection on tap is great. We ordered the: *Wood Fired Breakfast Pizza: a pizza with bacon, Devonshire cream, Parmigiano Reggiano, spinach, and two over-easy eggs. This pizza is a standout. Thin, crispy crust with rich, savory flavors. It's unique, indulgent, and easily shareable for two. What really made the experience unforgettable was how welcoming they were. I was dog-sitting for the weekend and brought the pup along, and they treated her like a VIP. She got tons of love from the staff, and they even snapped a Polaroid of her for their wall, such a thoughtful, personal touch that says a lot about the kind of place this is. Overall, it's a fantastic space in a super convenient part of town. Delicious food, a killer beer list, a chill but lively atmosphere, and genuinely warm, attentive service. Honestly, I'm just sad I didn't discover this spot sooner.

Food was plenty. Definitely sharable! The music was chill and there were tv's with football game playing. There are 2 areas. One with a full bar and outside seating. The other has picnic table setup and free arcade games with corn hole on a small patio. It was good service. Staff were friendly.

This place is always a great spot to hang out with their fun decor and games throughout. I give their ambiance a 10/10, especially during the holidays. Als lover their outdoor and indoor options. Only had their drinks, and beer was good too. Overall if you're looking for a place to hang out with a group of people and play some games at a place with good vibes, I'd recommend Nason's for sure.

We stopped by Nason's to grab a beer and watch the Padres game. Located only couple blocks away from Petco Park, Nason's has plenty of screens, games and a nice selection of local drafts, cocktails and typical bar foods. We sat at the bar, the bartenders were friendly and attentive despite our rooting for the opposition.

Chips and guac

Came here right when we checked into the hotel in gaslamp. Wanted to start off our vacation with some drinks and an appetizer. Overall ok experience. Might come back to again, but not having any expectations on food. Food 2/5 Chip and guac - The chips were so bad, like they served us stale chips. Guac was good but couldn't make up for the stale chips. Service Was ok, wasn't insanely crowded, but had to wait couple times to get service and the check. Ambiance I liked the decoration, had the beer hall vibe. It was also open concept at the corner so you can people watch.

Wings (naked with bbq/buffalo) on the side
Stephanie C.

Stopped by yesterday around 11am , to grab some food before our flight . Our bartender was very friendly and promptly served us our drinks and answered any of our questions. We ordered the wings , naked with an extra sauce ($2) on the side . The wings were hot and crispy . The buffalo sauce was very spicy which I loved. The cheeseburger was loaded with toppings we opted out of the bacon which I'm kinda glad because the burger was massive as it is . I honestly wished we knew about this place sooner on our trip so we could've came back to it. They have a game room with retro arcade games and a beer pong set up .

Pretzel
Jordyn J.

I really wanted to like this spot. From the outside, it looked wonderful. Tons of games.. darts, cornhole, and a huge space that looked modern and nice. Unfortunately, the food was pretty bad. We ordered the pretzel and the San Diego gold chicken wings. The pretzel was okay but the cheese and the mustard were not tasty. The wings were very greasy and we were not fans of the San Diego gold sauce. We ended up ordering a side of ranch and a side of buffalo to dip everything in, which helped! (Can never go wrong with ranch haha). We were given a chicken wing that was very deformed and gross looking. (Pictured below)... I really wish this was not put on our plate because it ruined my appetite for the chicken. Luckily my boyfriend has a stronger stomach :) While the food was edible, I would not recommend coming here for dining. I think this would be an awesome spot to watch football and have a beer. No food. I hate to leave a bad review and hardly ever do, but please step up the food game! The atmosphere is great, the beer selection is great, the food could def be improved.

So the size is deceiving when you walk in. There's an entire other seating area with a lot of arcade games if you pass the original bar and go to the right. The vibe here has always been chill at night when I come. I've never seen it crazy but it seems like the place that might get that way because of the really large seating areas designed for big groups. The beer selection is standard for a bar in East village. The tvs are always playing sports so it's a good spot for that if you're into it. There is a full bar with friendly staff. I had two nice dudes mixing up drinks last time I was there. So the front bar is more for friends and drinking in my opinion. And the game room area is more for the fam and kids etc. It's completely separate so you don't have to co mingle with the other. Haven't had the food here but I heard it's good. Also it's next to other East village bars, so it's a good spot to get dropped off at if you're bar hopping.

Wagyu Crunchwrap

I went this past Friday night and the restaurant was located within the Pendry hotel. It was easy to find and the bar had a couple of open tables indoors and outdoors without feeling too empty or crowded which was good as they do not allow reservations. The restaurant & bar had sit-yourself seating where a server would come by with the menu & seasonal drink menu. Both drinks were good despite being spirit-forward and all of the food came in a good size portion, so we took home a lot of leftovers

But the hospitality is what made this place special to us from the beginning. For us, that started with Frank. He's since moved on to other CH Projects, but we still remember how welcome he made us feel. Our experience with him at Neighborhood was really the beginning of us falling in love with CH Projects as a whole. When I think about why we keep coming back, people like Frank are a huge part of that. And the food has stayed so consistently good. The Hood Burger, bone marrow, bolognese, burrata, pierogies, bloomin' onion... at this point, I'm practically listing the menu. In all the years we've been coming here, I honestly can't think of a bad dish we've had. It's one of our favorite places to work into a night out because we know we're going to eat well and enjoy being there. On our latest visit, Drew reminded me of exactly how we felt when we first came here and met Frank. He was so kind, patient, and hospitable, and he made our experience every bit as memorable. Years later, getting that same level of care means a lot. While we were waiting for our food, I also noticed some guests being unnecessarily rude to the staff, especially Drew. He kept his composure and stayed professional throughout it, even when people weren't giving him the same respect he was giving them. That made me appreciate him even more and want to take the time to give him the recognition he deserves. Drew, thank you for taking such good care of us. I hope the people you work with know how much of an impression you leave on guests. The food and atmosphere give us plenty of reasons to come back, and people like you and Frank are what make Neighborhood top tier. Five stars, without hesitation.

Everyone's food came out at around the same time, waitresses were attentive, proactive, and gave us lots of water refills. All while acting as busser for the other tables. I had the pork sisig rice bowl and had a few bites of their buffalo chicken and their loco moco. For reference, sisig consists of a meat (usually pork belly or various offal meats), chopped onions, citrus, vinegar, and a myriad of other herbs, spices, and seasonings. I thought it was decently good, especially the bottom bowl rice that just absorbed all the savory, tangy sauce. With the buffalo chicken fries, they were very generous with both the food portions and the sauces. We still have leftovers 2 nights later. Prices are on the high side compared to the rest of the neighborhood, I think my bowl came out to $20. They do have happy hours from 3:00pm to 6:00pm with appetizers as low as $6. I haven't had a opportunity to try, but those prices are definitely enticing. The inside is typical gastropub, a huge variety of beers on tap and TVs playing sports. Though it was very spacious and houses a (highly recommended) speakeasy, Realm of the 52 Remedies. They get personal bonus points from me out of convenience, they're just across the street. I'm a sucker for convenience and walkability, something not often seen around San Diego. Overall good experience. I don't drink, I've typically kept away from bar food. Convoy being what it was, I've shied away from typical American-style spots. Common Theory impressed me and I'll be back.
