I was walking my dog and stopped by after smelling the food. When I went, they had El Vaquero serving Mexican food. The prices were great. I had the ah Perro hotdog because I was craving those TJ street hot dogs that they used to sell from carts downtown. It's hard to believe that it was only $5 (without tax). The picture proves it. It was LOADED with carne asada! It was good. The mayo sauce on it was spicy so I'd ask for sauce on the side or no sauce if you can't handle spice. Drinks- I just had a sabé mojito. It was decent price too. Overall, nice casual spot in the neighborhood for beer and wine. Not sure if their food options rotates but the Mexican food was good.

Lets just get down to it, the food is amazing. Everything is cooked and seasoned perfectly. You will be sitting there so full and still want to eat more its crazy. The dishes here are made so differently that i have seen anywhere before and this is how it should be done. Now the establishment itself, it feels perfect where it is, right at a Downtown metro station. The drink menu available is also far from lacking. You will have no trouble finding what you need here. This is an excellent spot to either your night out in Downtown or to end ur day with the best food and drink.

Juju was super cool and the Carne Asada fries were amazing! Definitely coming back next time were in SD!

Cool place! The flatbreads are good. Nice wine selection and very friendly staff! Got a flatbread with pepperoni and olives and a focal banger, give this place a try!

Eli was very friendly and welcoming the moment you come in. Makes you feel at home and not rushed like most bars these days. The food was awesome and fresh. Would definitely come back again. Looking forward to big things coming. Hidden gem that just opened up!

    Michelada yum!

Tacos here are just great, generous in size and very reasonably priced. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Service and food are excellent. Behind the beer glass are some bare plates from the shrimp tacos and pork torta.

The place is very small and even being there early, all the inside seats were already taken. We sat on the patio, which on a nice day would have been fine, but it was a cold and windy evening. We asked if they could turn on the heat lamps, but they said they were out of propane. It took probably 15 minutes for anyone to greet us after that. We were told we would get to try 4 or 5 champagnes. And while they were trying their best, it just took such a long time between pours, and we didn't end up trying all of them, as they ran out of at least one. They did compensate by pouring more of the others, but they just didn't seem ready for the group that was there. We ended up shoving our way to stand inside, as it was not pleasant outside. It was a really cute place, and they all seemed very nice, but if they are going to have events, they need to be much more organized and probably limited to a smaller number of people unless they can put more tables out in the lobby area. I had been excited to check it out, but left feeling that we didn't have a good experience.

Most of the dishes were perfect for sharing, which made it fun to try a little bit of everything together. The standouts for us were definitely the pear and blue cheese cabbage salad and the Spanish-style ham and cheese sandwich. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, and everything just came together for a really enjoyable afternoon. We sat outside and it was perfect. You ring the doorbell, wait patiently, and once you're inside, you realize this isn't your typical coffee shop. It's a place to slow down, enjoy the music, and savor your drink. Monique and Danica were both amazing. They're warm, welcoming, and you can really see the passion behind what they do. Danica is also the DJ, and her eclectic playlist made the whole experience even better. One of my favorite parts was just sitting there watching our drinks being made. You can see the care and craft that goes into every cup...even the Kuramoto ice is beautiful. The Matcha Americano completely changed my perception of matcha. The Kyoto cold brew pour-over was fascinating to watch and incredibly smooth. We loved it so much that we came back the very next day. This time I had the Midori, and my brother-in-law loved the Highball, especially the yuzu. No laptops. Trust the DJ. Drinks are meant to be enjoyed fresh, so take your time. If you're looking for a quick coffee run, this isn't it. But if you appreciate great coffee, good music, and people who are passionate about their craft, Long Play Hi-Fi is absolutely worth the visit.

I was meeting up with a former student who is vegetarian, and there were a number of dishes on the menu that I felt he'd like. One of my favorites, the shrimp scampi. is no longer on the menu. It was really good. However, following Tay's lead, I ordered the peach salad with arugula and smoked almonds. Sooooooo good! I also felt that I was eating healthier which would be great to do this summer...for real! LOL! Tay got the cauliflower cerviche which was delicious! The one thing we really liked was the bread and butter. Those toasted thick slices and the whipped brie, butter, and drizzled with honey was amaaaaaaaaazing!!!! There are a number of other items on the menu that I can't wait to come back and try. I also had the Early Autumn cocktail which was refreshing. The staff was all so friendly and attentive. The kind where you don't have to do that awkward half-hand raise like you're trying to answer a question in class. Now let's talk drinks... specifically the gin and tonics. I don't know what kind of wizardry is happening behind that bar, but these were hands down the best I've ever had. Crisp, balanced, refreshing--like if a spa day and a cocktail had a baby. Had a few (for research purposes, obviously), and every single one hit. Brunch? Oh, they didn't come to play. The lemon poppy seed pancakes... I'm still thinking about them. Actually, I might never stop thinking about them. Fluffy, citrusy, just the right amount of sweet these pancakes didn't just raise the bar, they are the bar now. Then the breakfast sandwich... listen. This thing had range. Savory, a little sweet, perfectly balanced like it went to culinary therapy. Every bite made me pause and reconsider my life choices up until that moment. Why don't I eat here every weekend? Overall, Counterpoint is that rare spot that nails everything easy parking, killer service, insane food, and drinks that make you question every other gin and tonic you've ever had. 10/10. No notes. Just bring me back... and maybe order two pancake plates. Trust me.
