For the first time in 15 years, I visited The Cut Barbershop in Tempe, AZ yesterday instead of…read moretrimming my beard. The occasion was unique: it was my partner's birthday, and I wanted to look my best with a professional touch (I've been cutting my own hair and beard for over 15 years). However, the barber (the big gentleman on the end with dreads) did not follow my instructions and trimmed my beard much lower than I desired. Moreover, he inflicted a severe wound on my scalp while cutting my hair, which bled profusely. The wound is still visible the next day, as seen in the photo. I usually keep my head primarily bald, so this was a very noticeable and painful injury. To add insult to injury, the barber charged me the total price and did not acknowledge his mistake or apologize. As a business owner, I know that when I make a mistake, I must compensate the customer accordingly. That is the essence of taking responsibility for actions and ensuring repeat business. This is not a good look. Now, I have to wear a hat for weeks until the wound is healed and my color comes back.
