I am not surprised by the owner's deflection and attempt to whitewash my experience. I would like to address the reply. The "long hair" length upcharge is not defined. This is a pricing flaw that allows a subjective application of the ~25-30% price increase. As stated, multiple other barbers at the same shop did not apply this upcharge to me in the past. It is also a fairly ridiculous upcharge as an additional 4-6 inches of hair does not result in a 25-30% longer duration for the haircut. I go out of my way to support local businesses but when I'm greeted with hostility from the very start and then some jack4$$ tries to rip me off, of course I had an emotional reaction to get away from the crookedness asap. Your staff only agreed to treat me fairly after a major objection on my part. Shame on you. read more

Stopped in this morning to get a haircut, I was in the plaza and the place looked clean and well maintained from the outside so I decided to try it out. Walked in, sat down and was ushered to a chair by one of their barbers who did not speak English. Everything was fine, showed a picture of a mullet off my phone- short on sides and long at the end and the other barber there translated it to Spanish for my barber. Nothing overly complex and pretty standard. Haircut took 10 maybe 12 minutes in total, totally rushed, no lining anything up and no checking to ensure sides were equal and presentable. At the end he showed me a mirror of the back and I thought okay now he's going to do the top and finish everything back in. Nope that was the end of the haircut. It appeared the other barber (not mine) was taking his time and caring about his work so im not sure what was going on. Overall, my experience was extremely rushed (even though there was 1 other person waiting), non-caring, and was definitely not what I was expecting from a place that presented well. I would like to preface by saying I have been getting my haircut at barber shops regularly valley wide for 20 years now and have had my fair share of okay haircuts and never complained once because I understand not every one will be perfect, but when I tell you this past visit is top 3 "I don't give a fuck" haircuts I've ever received, I mean it. I showed the gentleman a clear picture of what I wanted and he took it upon himself to give me that worst 15 minute haircut of his life. There was absolutely no effort or technique involved. The fade was terrible. Both sides were uneven and there were no fucks of any kind in this haircut. Mind you the shop is dead but for some reason he wanted to set a world record and see how fast he could fuck me up. There were people who were already getting their haircuts and he had me in and out faster than them. It was just clear to me he did not care what the outcome looked like. And then he had the audacity to tell me "usually long hair is $39 but I'll charge you $29". Yeah because you know you fucked me up. Really disappointed. read more

My Lady hairdresser (another business) does my color highlights but she is best at cutting women's hair. The long & short of it is, she won't do a fade. So, now I have her do my color every five weeks, and two weeks later I go to LG's Barber shop to get a fade in tight on the sides, and a bit trimmed off the top. Let me say this, my head has many pits and valleys and a huge cowlick in between the top and the back. So, I have four different instructions as to how to cut where and what length. I have seen two barbers here. One was a middle-aged mom, and she did very well, and scored a 4 out of 5 on my requests/instructions. The second guy was old school, needed an interpreter (which was readily done automatically by a young barber, and he also did very well, 4 out of 5 again. Heading there again tomorrow, and I'll make sure I am very explicit about needing length to cover up that cowlick (their only mistake, is they both went a little short there). So why go back if not perfect? The rest of the cut was excellent! Both times! Plus they are fast at the fade, faster than I've ever seen! I am very lazy when it comes to styling my hair. Therefore I get a #2 buzz all around to avoid any gel or styling every morning. Although my haircuts sole purpose is to allow me to be lazy I am still critical about any rogue long hairs and having clean edges. LG's actually took the time to ensure my simple haircut was perfect. I've been going here for a few months and they usually do a good job. This time around I got a different guy further towards the back. I told him what I wanted, reiterated it, and we seemed to be on the same page. He KIND OF put the hair bib on me. By default it was draped in my lap. I asked for a certain length on top, cut with scissors, tapered to a certain length on the bottom. He immediately started watching whatever movie was playing and buzzed my head with clippers, then took my sides all the way down and don't even bother fading, let alone tapering my hair. He must have been super pumped about whatever movie was playing because he didn't say a word to me and absolutely obliterated my head. I'm not exaggerating when I say it looks and feels like someone drug me across the parking lot. My wife got home and asked "what happened to the back of your head? Did you fall?" Nice clean barber shop that looks very professional. Sit down and watch the big screen while you get your hair cut. The problem is, so does the barber. He's very interested in the movie and keeps checking on the action as he cuts my hair. He's so involved with the movie he never asks how I would like my hair cut so I volunteer how and he just grunts. No matter what I say, he does it his way, probably the only way he knows how resulting in what appears to be the "bowl" technique. He never asks if I want side burns - swipe, they're gone. Live and learn. Another lesson for me. I'm convinced, guys just don't know how to cut hair or they really don't care to do what they're doing. Another reviewer likes that "there's not a wait". Unfortunately a disappointing job by the barber here. I have longish hair (long enough to reach my chin), and I very clearly said I was letting my hair grow, that I just need to clean up the edges. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the barber didn't really listen and did what he pleased (as he watched the soccer match on tv). Probably the only cut they know how to do. I was on the chair only like five minutes. Didn't even have time to notice he was chopping away. I'm pissed off right now, my hair is basically gone. I've been a client at this barber for over two years and never miss my bi-monthly cut. My current barber, Lee, always works his magic when doing a tight fade and I enjoy his company while in the chair. In fact, the whole team are good people and that makes for a really enjoyable experience, all around. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They do a great job for my son who's a toddler as well. He is a spirited boy and Lee does a good job keeping him distracted and happy while getting the job done. Be sure to clearly communicate what you want and need from a cut before you get started. I've found from experience, that this is where the disconnect happens when it comes to not being satisfied. My reviews aren't always negative, but I feel one is warranted. I called in to see if my barber, angel, was available. He wasn't, but "the best barber in Arizona" was. I came in and said that I've never met him before as I was a regular, in a friendly manner. He replied "now you have, what do you want" and told him I wanted a medium fade with a half guard, or .5 whatever terminology is used for a barber to understand. He puts a 5 guard on and argues with me about what I said! Apparently he didn't understand. So how can I trust this guy with my hair? I came in another time when my barber wasn't there. This guy has been cutting hair for "20 years" ...beware, he free-hands the top of your head and took a chunk right off the top! I hate to bad mouth these guys cuz there are good barbers here, but the two ruined it for the whole, and I recant my last review. read more

The guy starts cutting my hair quickly, he does a decent job. I asked for my hard part to be cut in and then he butchers my scalp and I was bleeding all over in the way home. I have been here twice so far. Sure the people are nice but what's the point if they give the worst haircuts??? I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the haircut I got. The first time I went, it was alright and My friend fixed it up a bit and it was better. But this time... My hairline is like Lebron James!! And I am not even kidding. My hair line is slanted at at least a 25 degree angle!! The barber had bad English and I honestly don't even think he understood what I was saying to him. After telling him that he pushed up the right corner of my hairline a bit and should push up the left one to make it even, he continued to push up the right one. I am SO disappointed right now. I wouldn't recommend this barber for crap! I am just furious because I wasted a total of $36 on me and my brother. If you want to spend $18 to get your hair MESSED UP! Go to LG's!
