Pricing is reasonable but it is the second time they leave hair on my neck and first time they messed up my lineup went to far up. Disappointing when you leave a Tip then get home and see hair that was left on neck where the barber can see while working just left it. read more

I would have given this place no stars but the fact that they get you in and out the chair pretty quick was the only positive. I only came here because my barber was sick and I needed a cut. Some of the reviews aren't to bad so thought I would give them a try. Worst decision ever !! When I have to come home and cut my own hair after paying 21.50 (not sure why the .50 maybe for using my debit card) that tells you how bad it was. After washing my hair from all the gel that was put in it I had to cross check my own hair which is something I only saw one barber doing. Better off allowing your toddler to go at your head with clippers. read more

Been coming here for about 4 years. Walk-ins only shop. Longest I've waited was probably 45 minutes even on a Friday afternoon. During the week it's about 15 min wait at the most. My go-to's are Rolando and Jim. They are good, consistent and fast if you're a simple guy like me and want a clean regular fade. Nothing fancy. They charge me $13 for a regular fade which is an amazing deal. I moved further away from this shop this year, and I tried other shops closer to home but I got tired getting charged $25 (not including tip) for messed up haircuts. I honestly was expecting a little bit more from this place I read the reviews and they seemed very good I've also had a friend in the past tell me that this place is a go to spot but honestly the guy that cut my hair had no idea the difference between a medium and a high fade I know that because he gave me a high fade when I asked for a medium I thought it was a little weird that he cut my hair within 30 minutes especially because my hair was so long honestly just seemed a little bit rushed didn't even blend my hair cut into my beard read more

Abel, Victor, and especially Ismael have been my barbers. They are all great craft men and good to talk to and get to know. I would definitely make a stop here if you want a good haircut. Chavez Barber Shop - Out side - Barbers Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

(ZERO Stars) My first and only experience with Chaves Barber shop was extremely unsatisfying. I am new to the area and decided to stop by their business due to the reviews I read online. I called to inquire about their prices and to verify the hours of operation via telephone at 6pm. The employee spoke with informed me that I would be able to get my haircut as long as I was there before 7pm. I arrived at 6:30 and noticed the "We're Closed" sign on the door upon parking. As I walked up to door (since it was not yet 7pm), the same employee that informed me over the telephone to come by, visually signaled to me from inside the building that in fact the shop was closed. Unfortunately, I felt that I drove from the other side of town only to be basically lied by the employee I spoke with, aside from wasting my time. This is very unprofessional of Chavez Barber shop to A. lie to customers the way they did and B. not to honor the hours posted at their place of business. I hope this helps new customers from arriving past 6pm only to be turned away like I was. read more

Rolando is the man, everyone there is friendly, and there's usually something good on the TV. They'll make conversation if you want or you can relax and quietly just watch TV. Great for fades. Great fresh shave on the neck and around the ears. This was the first spot I found when I moved to Phoenix and I like it enough I'll drive down from ASU's campus whenever I need a haircut. If you're a student and can go during the week you'll be in and out in no time. Awesome service. read more

Can't get any better than this barbershop. The owner Abel is awesome. Started out taking my oldest son, then husband, and each son added to our family has gone to him too. We've had the other barbers in his shop cut their hair too and each cut is great. They take pride in what they do and what I like best is that each cut lasts and there's never any clean up for me to do. Other places leave long hairs here and there and they never do that. The sideburns are even, it's just a great cut. The shop is clean, the guys are nice and not only do they do great cuts on men, but they're very nice with my littlest of boys too (even when he's not cooperating!). They almost always are busy and that's the sign of a great place to go! I think the only reason it doesn't have a review is that people are trying to keep these great barbers to themselves! read more
