This restaurant is always packed with cars that most of the time you have to park across the street. It was our first time going to eat there and I'm so happy we did! The owner Bob was casually sitting at the bar, just hanging out. Joanne was our waitress and she was so darn nice and made us feel right at home. The place is really big, but from outside it looks small. I loved what Bob said when we asked if he was the owner, he said the place owned him. This is such a true statement. The place had a big clientele who you knew they had been there often because they welcomed them and knew their names. The lunch was so good! This is the first year I didn't get to eat Corn beef. It was because of the new house and not knowing where to go, but now I know. You can see the ducks floating down the river, right out the windows what a view. A must go to place. Narrows Crossing had been recommended by a friend of mine whose parents have a summer home in Wareham. We were glad we took their advice and stopped in for a late lunch. This place is nothing fancy and is what I would describe as a low-key, casual, friendly, local restaurant We were greeted very warmly upon entering and told to sit wherever we would like. There were a few people eating at the bar and maybe two other tables with diners. We sat at a booth next to the windows which overlooked the Wareham River. Pretty view! We had a lovely and helpful waitperson who came right over with menus. We asked for ice water, a sauvignon blanc for me and a local beer for my husband. I am a fan of fish and chips so this was what I ordered when I saw it on the menu. My husband went back and forth with a couple of choices but ultimately he got the fish and chips too. We were both very glad we did. Some places don't get it right and over-fry or over-batter the fish so ordering fish and chips isn't always so straight forward even here in seafood-centric New England. The haddock was lightly breaded and perfectly and freshly fried. It tasted clean and light meaning the breading was not at all heavy, it was just a suggestion of a coating and the fish tasted fresh and sweet. It was a simple dish, as it should be and so delicious. It came with fries which were also very good and a small side of coleslaw...I wish there had been more of the tangy coleslaw. I eat my fries the New England way (which is really adopted from the English way) with malt vinegar and like all good seafood places in these parts, malt vinegar is readily available. We rarely get dessert but when the waitperson told us they had Grape-Nut pudding on the menu we ordered a dish of that to share. Grape-Nut Pudding is a classic, old-timey New England dessert. It should be served warm, and it is really a tasty comfort food. When I see it on a menu, I will almost always order it. As an aside, It's easy to make. If you google it, several recipes will come up including my favorite one which is from Yankee Magazine. The Grape-Nut pudding here came out warm with a dollop of whipped cream and was not too sweet (grape-nut pudding shouldn't be) and was really delicious. This was a perfect place to stop for a good seafood lunch in a clean and unpretentious local place. We look forward to a return visit. read more

Great views, great service, great food! They have a relatively simple and straightforward menu that has all the basics, and quite a few interesting specials. But the views are the real special here. This is a local dive with mediocre food. I had not been there in about 7 years, so I thought it was time to give them another try. It turns out that the only thing that changed in al that time were the prices. The prices are more like that of a normal 4* restaurant. Certainly not worth what they are serving. Chicken parm was mostly tasteless with a red sauce that tasted like a cheap supermarket brand. There was also too little sauce. The only good thing I can say is that the chicken was cooked to the right doneness. The glass of Cabernet was warm and tasted like the bottle had been open for at least 3 days. The Wareham area needs more and better restaurants. I've seen posts online showing the food here and was headed out this past Friday night. I decided rather than one of the "fake food" chains that is in the area I'd head here. I got a Burger, my friend got Fish and Chips. First off have to say nothing like any of the pictures that are posted. But I think all restaurants do that. The place hasn't changed much so kind of just uh? for ambiance. The service was about average for the area. The price and quality of food left us questioning though. Price seemed at or slightly above what I'm used to for an independent place in this area. Stopped in here coming home from the cape and we will return for the excellent food at incredible prices. The overall ambiance was a no frills local pub which I personally love, plus outdoor seating next to the water is always appreciated. I got the stuffed haddock; as classic and simple as it sounds it was anything but! Everything was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection! But the homemade desserts here really were the cherry on top! We got the strawberry shortcake and bread pudding, both some of my favorites and these were astounding. On the other side of the canal this place would be crawling with yuppies paying triple for perfectly prepared clam strips, fishcakes, and seafood of all types. Instead very reasonable prices, efficient service and a view of the waterfront make this a splendid place to get seafood and the off duty fisherman and locals make it even better. So, we had an appointment in Onset mass and we were meandering down Rt 6, going through Wareham when I pulled into a parking lot to look at a map. We had pulled into "Narrows Crossing", a small family restaurant and after quickly looking at reviews, decided to have lunch.. the restaurant is along the Agawam river with tables looking out on the water.There is a bar too. We sat at a riverside table and told the waitress we had an appointment nearby and only a little while to partake of their ambience and food. She tended to our needs and quickly served up 2 orders of tuna salad, a hot coffee and an iced tea ! The food was fresh, plentiful and priced reasonably. The waitress kept a watchful eye on us and presented our check quickly so we would not be overly detained... Perfect service and excellent food in a picturesque setting on a sunny Presidents Day ! In Wareham Center with the wife, son and his future bride. Wife has a replacement knee but there was a ramp and the tables are a good distance from each other. Nice window seat overlooking the water and wildlife. Food was fresh and delicious according to all. We had a seafood platter, fish n chips with accompanying clam chowder, crab cakes ( which I found very good) and a chicken parm. Service was attentive. Pineapple upside filled our side completely. We'd been here before for the primerib night, but this trip we stopped in for the fish chowder (it was lunch), but while we were at it decided to share a scallop/clam combo plate. The fried clams (whole) were juicy and tender with a nice light batter, the scallops, oh the scallops!, I still dream of them. So tender the seemed to just melt away on my tongue. So absolutely fresh! Those scallops made it more than a lunch, it was an experience! Our server was wonderful and really enjoyed that we were enjoying our lunch so much. Now before you think that maybe I'd never had a scallop before, I grew up in New Bedford, a very large scallop port. These were exceptional. read more

The lunch of January 6th had the amazing scallops wrapped in bacon for a great price of $10.99 (8 full sized scallops!). They were so well prepared they tasted like they had just arrived from the ocean, truly an amazing flavor here, and I have had them here before. These were clearly their best presentation for them. My lunch was a scallop Caesar salad which was amazing as well, there had to be close to a pound of scallops there! I was just amazed and all was just perfectly broiled and it made for a phenomenal lunch. This was easily the best meal I had ever had at this long standing restaurant. I'm not sure if the name was the same, but the restaurant was 35 years ago, it has always been a good stop and its great to see them holding themselves to such a high standard. Superb! read more

Me and my cousin came here from Long Island for a retreat and we stopped in here for the food because it's close to the Airbnb. I'm not sure why I read a couple of bad reviews for this place. Some people, just don't have taste I suppose, because they were wrong. I ordered the lobster roll, it came with the most BOMB clam chowder. Great little spot right on the water. I come here all the time for breakfast when we're in the area. The food is great and they have a good variety of things to chooses from, not just your standard diner food. I especially like their clam strips. They're the best I've had. The only problem is the parking is a bit awkward. The lot is very small and narrow and divided by a fairly busy road. read more

We've come here a lot. They offer a diverse menu, the food is excellent and the view is top notch. While the space is small there is a decent amount of seating. The interior could use some sprucing up as its comes off as a bit drab. But it is clean and the service is great. A good size bar offers a couple tvs and great views of the harbor. This is a landmark in Wareham and worth the time to checkout. On Sat and Sunday mornings it is hard to get in the door for breakfast. You can also expect a wait on Saturday nights, especially in the summer. If in the area stop in for a bite at this nice local spot. The scallops and bacon are awesome! read more

Good food and good service. My wife and I been several times for both breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I almost always order the biscuits and gravy. Most of the time it is very good - the biscuits are good. Only once the gravy was cool - all the other times it was great. My wife has had a variety of the omelets ... my son tried the chourcio benedict. For lunch I had the fish and chips - very good. The chowder also good. We enjoy overlooking the river.
