Loved this place. The hubby had a lobster roll and clam chowder and I had a fish sandwich (no bun). His lobster roll had plenty of meat and the dressing was perfect not too heavy or over seasoned allowing the lobster to shine. The chowder was creamy and full of flavor. Food was okay. Service was super slow. This credit card fee is also super disingenuous- the credit card company is not charging customers - as their sign implies - but rather the restaurant is increasing their profits 4% and blaming it on credit card processors. Toddler, vegetarian, and a carnivore walk into a restaurant and all walk out happy. They had something for everyone. They had cute little blue picnic tables as the seating. When you are in Cape Cod, you gotta eat some lobstah rolls. The lobster rolls were delicious here with nice bug chunks of lobster. It also comes with Cape Cod chips, so I felt very Cape Codey. Unfortunately, this place was a bit of a letdown, especially after wanting to try their lobster roll for over a year! There were two young ladies working at the counter, and they both seemed either new or reluctant to be helpful. We had to ask for menus plus straws, plus my basic questions I had about the food became a discussion between the two of them. Our food was ok. Sadly, I didn't like the taste of the lobster roll - too much butter, and I think I discovered the texture of this lobster triggers my gag reflex. On the bright side, my husband said his hot dog was quite good. For the price, I felt our food should have had a small coleslaw, though. One thing to note is that when our food was ready, one of the young ladies brought our food out to our table, dropped our chips on the dirty foot, then shook them off, shrugged, and handed the bag to us. I didn't say anything, but it was a little rude to not get an apology or offer of new chips. I wiped the bag with sanitizer, but still, that showed a lack of tact. A large group of bikers came in as we were eating, and they were greeted a lot more warmly and enthusiastically. This didn't make us feel any better. Plenty of seating (even when we brought in a group of 13!) and service is super helpful and friendly! Unfortunately overrated. We ordered over four items from the menu. The lobster roll was saturated with butter which took away from the taste. I don't recall ever having one with so much. Butter is only good when dipping freshly cracked lobsters, not for rolls imo. The clam chowder was supermarket quality with stale crackers. Extremely poor quality with that. No place to sit inside. But they do have tables on the sidewalk to sit at. Very dog friendly !!! You can sit with your dog , at there patio table and they will bring water out for your dog. Onset Quahog , is very similar to the quahog you get it Lindsey's and is a little on the mushy side. But it did have a great taste. My preference for quahogs are the ones that are a little bit crispy on top. But the quahog was a great portion side , twice as large as other quahogs in the area. Lobstah roll was wicked awesome , would get one here again and again. For the amount of lobstah you get , for the price , this is the best place in the Onset Area! BLT grilled cheese Lobstah, I was amazed by the amount of Quality lobster that was in this sandwich. Extremely cheesy and gooey. Chowdah had a creamy but not thick , had a great clam taste. It was the smallest lobster roll I have ever seen in my life for the price! There were barely any lobsters and they didn't give us spoons or oyster crackers for our clam chowder! The only item that was worth the price is the coconut shrimps! The fries were also very little. Near my house we can get a lobster roll with chunks of lobsters falling out with lettuce in the bun with fries and cole slaw for $21. More than five stars!!!! So I got lost coming home from mattapoisett and pulled over to look at my gps. That's when I realized that I was parked in front of cape cod lobster rolls! I was very excited since my last experience was so good. I walked in to discover that they now serve acai bowls and I was thrilled. So I ordered a regular lobster roll and an açai bowl together. The most delish lobster roll $22 (comes choice-of three different ways and two different sizes) and an amazing abundant Fried Clam Roll $15 (sweet & yummy) overflowing with delight simply hit the spot!
