Yellow Curry
Leena C.

Delivery only. My lovely cousin surprised me with dinner. She has ordered from here before for me and it's decent. Order: crispy vegetable fried rolls, papaya salad, yellow curry, glass noodles, mango sticky rice, 2 Mexican cokes Door dash for it here pretty promptly so everything was still hot. Crispy vegetable fried rolls (3/5) - filling was kind of bland and mushed up when I bit into it - the sauce was not sweet as I had hoped Papaya salad (2.5/5) - my auntie makes papaya salad and I measure them all by hers and unfortunately I just wasn't a fan, it was ok but nothing that I would crave Classic yellow curry (3/5) - flavor was there, the potatoes are somewhat undercooked in the middle and they kind of skimped on the chicken unlike previous order, there was a lot of curry which I enjoyed over the heaping box of rice Pad woon sen (4/5) - the glass noodles were my favorite again, there were 3 pieces of shrimp and chicken mixed in (extra charge) but overall it was tasty, the glass noodles were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was nice and not overpowering Mango sticky rice (2/5) - probably not something for delivery as it's better eaten very warm - the rice was not soft enough and could have used more of the coconut sauce Who am I to complain about gifted food? I def recommend the glass noodles and the yellow curry. Both were tasty. Maybe one day I'll find my way inside the shop.

The service was good. The food was also good. All dishes we ordered were medium spicy and it came out just enough for us. The Pad Thai is on the sweeter side and the we wished both our dishes had more kiss of the wok (wok-hey). The 3 dishes were $48 before tips and we had some leftovers. We sat near the window so we can people watch. It was a lovely experience overall.

Was craving Tom Yum soup, so I picked Nara Thai tonight. Really good broth. Even at a spice level 1 it had some kick. I was worried the bow wouldn't be big enough, but it was a good portion size. Only thing I would maybe change is more cilantro, less mushrooms. I also ordered some fresh rolls to start. There were 2 rolls cut in half, and they were very large. A good size appetizer for 2 people. Few other items on the menu looked good that I may have to try next time. The eggplant basil and the fried rice dishes caught my attention. They were not too busy with dine-in, but there was a steady stream of to-go orders. The restaurant has a nice open and clean feeling to it. Neat decor around the bar too.

Jacky provided us great service and the food was all hot and fresh made to order. Very nice experience and very fair prices. Nice decor.

My friend and I go back and forth on what's the better Thai place. She said 'Nara so I gave it a try tonight. Definitely good price. I got basil fried rice -chicken- 02 spicy. And if this is level 2 I cannot imagine hot. I love spicy food and this is immediate hiccups spicy. The other flavors are good but the rice is a little dry. Doesn't seem to have any veggies and is just chicken and rice with a fried egg. Idk I'm not a fan. I say go to Ar-Haan and pay the extra bucks

Pad Kra Pow

So disappointed that Nara has degraded so quickly. The food quality has dropped under what must be new management. I had the pad kra pow with chicken. It lacked the flavor it has previously had. Service was abysmal. I had to ask numerous times for refills and then again for my check. There were only two other tables at the time.

A couple Chang beers

Parking, structure behind the restaurant and they provided 2 hours free. Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was basically empty, one other couple there. It's a nice quaint storefront, the bar looked like they could make anything and a good selection of beers. Something that I believe a lot of places could work on, the staff that seats you or brings the menu's, it doesn't hurt to be friendly. Return a "hello", something, just a little welcoming. Remember, you more employees than customers at the time we came in. The good, drunken noodles slightly more than mild spice were delicious. The spice went well with the Chang beers. We also got the Thai wings, really not something I would order again. Pretty basic. Even the dipping sauce "sweet Thai" wasn't much help. We were in Houston for the weekend and thought we would give Thai a try, I'd go back to try anything spicy and have a beer with it.

The reason why I'm giving them 3 stars is because the most of the food were delicious. Service, on the other hand, were terrible. Upon arriving for lunch with my two girls, we were told to sit anywhere we'd like since it was pretty empty. Only 2 other tables were already occupied. After we sat down, it took the server an extra few minutes to come and take our orders for drinks. On a hot summer day, you would think she had some sense to bring us water without asking. We ordered 3 Thai teas and water. She brought back 3 Thai teas and 1 water. Fried calamari was not fresh, too chewy, barely any calamari, and overly breaded (to hide the fact it wasn't fresh). Aside from that, the rest of the food were phenomenal. We were still sitting there and talking, our server decided to bring me my check. We weren't even finish eating yet and wanted to place an order with dessert. Even though the business weren't busy at the moment, they need to train their staff to tend to the customers. She also spend more time tending to another table who came in for a quick lunch and going to the back of the kitchen instead of checking on us to see if we needed anything else. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Will not return.

Tom Yum Tom Kha Crispy Fried Spring Rolls Chicken Satay Pad See Eue (Classic Thai Flat Noodle)

My first time trying Thai & I highly recommend this place. Having Jackie (idk if I spelled his name correctly) was so helpful and welcoming. Food was amazing. And they play great music! They have a cool happy hour everyday also! Check them out!!!

Green Curry Beef, Tom Yum soup with chicken, jasmine tea.

I stopped by for a post-theatre late lunch so it was very quiet except for steady take-out orders. I ordered hot jasmine tea, Tom Yum soup with chicken and Green Curry Beef. The temperature of everything was hot and the spice levels were as requested (I requested mild on the green curry). The green curry dish comes with eggplant, basil, red bell peppers and I chose green beans as the side. Very tasty! My waiter was very considerate and kept checking to see that everything was good. The prices were reasonable and I will definitely return.

Pad Thai with shrimp

Came here for dinner before heading to a bar in Montrose. I ordered the drunken noodles, and my friend got the pad thai. Drunken noodles are normally my favorite dish to get at Thai restaurants, but the pad thai here is what impressed me! Definitely one of the best pad Thais I've had in a long time! It was flavorful with a good amount of sauce. Not dry at all. And the shrimp was cooked just right. The drunken noodles were okay, but the noodles were a little undercooked and tougher than they should've been. We got the Thai tea as well, which was pretty good. Tasted just how it should. Our waitress was attentive and the space was clean. They also have $1 glasses and $5 bottles of Martha Stewart's Chardonnay. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but for $1, it's hard to complain! They also validate parking at the nearby parking garage.

I've only got to-go from here once, and from what I remember, the wait wasn't too bad. The parking is quite difficult since the lot is so small. To share, we got an order of crispy veggie spring rolls and a bowl of tom kha with chicken. Both always hit the spot. Some Thai spots make tom kha too salty but I think this one is seasoned well. We also ordered pad see ew and pad woon sen with tofu. So delicious! The portions are pretty generous, so we had a good amount to take home.

I ordered it with beef, and the beef was very tender and not dry at all. Furthermore, the overall dish has the wok hay flavor and was one of my favorite pad see ews I've ever had. Thai Iced Tea - it was your average thai iced tea where it wasn't mixed at first(which I think is a sign of authenticity!) and sweet at the perfect level with condensed milk. What makes this a four star was that the service was a little iffy in my opinion. Even though we were in a large group which makes it harder for waiters to order, the waiter stared at one of my friends and started mumbling despite him already ordering which made it pretty awkward.

Soft music, white and red walls with Thai decor. Natural lighting during the day with warm interior lighting. It appears that there has been a makeover to the restaurant. I like the new look more. It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. Curry is a bit sweet to my liking, but overall, it was a good meal. Will have to try other dishes next time. Food presentation is nicely plated. Not messy or sloppy. 5. Cleanliness - dining area is clean. The waitstaff keeps this place in tip top shape. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. Although it was locked, someone was able to enter still. SUMMARY This is a petite Thai cafe. Everything about this place was enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try again and will highly recommend this place.

The Tom Kha had a lighter, more watery base than the rich coconut flavor I'm used to. I know this can vary by region, so it wasn't bad, just not my personal preference...The cream cheese crab wontons were decent and nicely presented. They also served a complimentary appetizer, which was a fun surprise, a taco shaped fried wonton wrapper filled with cabbage and their house dressing...Overall, if you're looking for a quick Thai bite with excellent service, this place works. I'm giving it 3.5 out of 5 not because it's bad, but because the flavors didn't quite match what I personally look for. For what it is, it's solid. -- Pilgrim Sojourner

For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! As for my friend's spicy red snapper, I tried a bite and the spices/texture in the dish complimented the fish very well. For dessert, we ordered the classic Mango Sticky Rice! The mango was soft/sweet, the rice and sauce had that salty coconutty flavor. Aside from the delicious food, the interior is cozy and the waiters here were friendly and gave great advice on what to order. They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
