I was honestly shocked for the treatment I received at this establishment because it never happened before. Abraham was the manager on duty which I asked for a last name and he refuse to process well as he refused to provide any accommodations in which I asked for. Once I arrived I sat for more than 30 minutes without any alert that they were "closed" I watched as others had their hookah refillled and possibly orders for food. I remained patient. Nara is located on the more Western portion of Houston and I wanted to give it a try after some friends recommended it and boy was I glad I did. I loved that they had indoor and outdoor seating. The server is always nice and greeting. I won't speak much about attentiveness because she's the only one whom I ever see serving the entire restaurant so hats off to her for holding the store down! During the day it's pretty chill and ebs throughout the evening with people playing cards doing work and enjoying company. The tea was great and glad they had decaf options bc of the time off day. One star because Mr. Khalid a my server did not give me the receipt, but he made me sign the credit card machine so I did when I looked at the bill. One of the managers, named Samir (or a similar name), appeared to be under the influence and behaved in a very inappropriate way toward my daughter. This made our family feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. This kind of behavior from management is completely unacceptable. Because of this incident, we will never come back to this place again. Their mint lemonade is the texture of a slushy, it is my go to drink whenever I'm there. Their chai pot is good, compared to other chais I've had in the general Houston area this one has a stronger tea flavor. As for food, I usually get the philly cheesesteak-look, I know we live in Texas and I'm eating a cheesesteak at a Mediterranean hookah bar. It hits the spot and it automatically comes with fries. I highly recommend it if you're craving something close to a burger but you don't want a burger. Their kenafa is made to order, so the wait can range from 10-20 minutes. But it is 100% worth the wait. I order it every time I'm there. Tips are automatically included and there are no cups of water, only water bottles. I thought about checking it out, it's a super casual with an outdoor seating, there's hookah inside and outside, we have ordered a few entree's however we found a razor in the rice!!!!! Thankfully no one got injured however we didn't get a refund and we paid the check in full which was OK for us but they've checked the kitchen and they have realized that the razor fell while cutting some food at the back and it accidentally fell I have no idea how but I am definitely not going there again. read more
