Friendly staff. Good food. Small space and very busy but I ended up finding a table. Would go back again. Large portions.

I recently moved to the Bitterroot area and on my first day in Hamilton I stumbled across Nap's and decided to get lunch. The place was packed at 12:30 on a Monday and I barely managed to snag a table. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and some fries, with iced tea to wash it down. First of all, if you are there with a friend? One order of fries will suffice. It is huge and omg, so good. Fair fries are the best comparison I have. My sandwich was also big enough for two. The steak was tender and juicy, the sautéed onions were mouth watering, and the cheese was, well, cheesy. Amazing. On a side note? I am an iced tea fanatic. I brew my own everyday and I have a mixture of loose teas that I use. So, it's hard for a restaurant to have iced tea that I find noteworthy. They have this too. All in all, a truly delicious meal! Fantastic burgers in the tiny town of Hamilton. Wish they would open a location in California!

So I'm giving a 5 because the food is great and service us good enough. But if this star didn't reflect the staff and product as much I'd give a 2 or 3. 2 reasons. The set up in this place is for a lemonade stand..you have to cram in to get a drink with 13 people hovering over or standing around you then you won't find a seat anywhere???not that a busy business is a bad sign by any means. Tey it you'll see why they are so busy. But at the same time I have two kids and a hungry wife I need a seat. Expand....yall so busy you know you can.so 2 I don't know about the open condiment thing. So yes they have the freshest produce on earth. But again I hate to single out any age oe gender or what not but twice I've been thier with an old guy sneezing on my lettuce...the nice crisp delicious lettuce I'm missing out on cuz it's now got old man nose juice on it. The Philly Cheesesteak was excellent and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely come back!

It's a Hamburger Resturant. BUT, arguably the very best in the State of Montana. More food than you can eat and the very best tasting food we have ever had. Service is GREAT, but because of it's popularity you may have to wait to place an order and find a seat. Took two young men who both ordered the "Bitterroot Beast" and assured us they would have no problem finishing them. Neither could finish more than half of their meal. read more

This place is exceptional!! The staff is beyond friendly and the service is perfect. I usually have their cheesesteak which is phenomenal but I have had their fries and burgers as well. Still a bit unsure of what the hype is all about. I have been to Nap's a few times now over the years and have found the food to be just ok...nothing special or spectacular really. My "well done" burger was very pink. I really do like how you can add your own toppings. The fries are very good - more memorable than the burgers in my opinion. I gave just 3 starts due to the atmosphere and limited seating/space. This place is always packed - which may speak for how good the food is...but it's also a downside. On my last visit we had nowhere to sit. We finally "made" a table by grabbing an extra chair from another table - but even then it was uncomfortable and very cramped. There is nowhere to set your food/drink while adding your burger toppings...and we literally could not find a single spot to even stand without being in someone's way or hearing "excuse me" every few seconds as someone attempted to squeeze through. I would not recommend this place if you are looking a for a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a meal. I think they would do very well if they found a larger space with more seating. read more

You know how everybody knows some place with the "best burger"? End of discussion. Nap's has the best burger. I live an hour away and I try to make excuses to go to Hamilton to eat at Naps. It is THAT GOOD! The only downside I can see is that now every burger I eat is compared to Nap's. Every lunch is rated in comparison to Nap's big-as-your-face, taste explosion of a burger. I heard from my boss at the restaurant I work at, that if I'm ever in Hamilton, Naps has the best burger in Montana. So me and pop swung by to see how it was. And it was pretty good! We each ordered a Naps Deal (I think that's what it was called, it was a while ago), which was a 3/4 lb burger and fries, drinks I believe we're separate. It was cheap, like 9 bucks or something. Very good value. Service was good, they let you customize your burger. We should have split one meal, because they were huge!! The burger was cooked well but didn't have a lot of seasoning, and the fries came in a nice big basket. 1 order of fries and 1 of the 3/4 lb burgers could have fed us both, and when you buy 2 drinks you are walking out well fed and it doesn't hurt your wallet either. Not the absolute best burger I've ever had but still very good. If your ever in Hamilton you have to try this place!! read more

When my family first moved to the Bitterroot Valley, my dad took my brother to Nap's with the promise of 'a serving of fries even he couldn't finish'. It has been a family favourite ever since. We are from CT and recently visited Montana and our friend Todd highly recommended lunch at Nap's Grill. We had scrumptious burgers, mile high fries ordered from very attentive and pleasant servers. We also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner who personally served us our meal. Looking at the level of service, attention to details; in both food quality, quantity and delivery along with the ambiance in the unique dining environment he personally created, it was obvious he was very passionate about his business. A California boy wishing he was living in Montana at this moment. Let me start out by saying I've been to tons of burger places in my lifetime (40 year burger vet)...this includes fast food places, fine dining as well as gourmet burger joints...NONE of them hold a candle to this place when it comes to flavor and value. I've been coming here for at least the past 15 years each year when I make my yearly pilgrimage to visit my relatives in Stevensville. I always make it a point to stop by here at least once when I am here. I was seriously bummed this time because I've had a viscous cold for the past month or so and haven't been able to taste of smell the past week. But I tell you, this was the first think I could taste all week. It totally made my trip. This place is always packed. Burgers are made to order and are cooked perfectly every time. They use fresh Montana beef, so you know what you're getting...QUALITY! They have two sizes...6oz and 12oz. You can purchase add ins for a nominal fee (cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms and of course bacon...yes Ethan..I'm talking to you). Once your burger is done, you can add you own toppings from the toppings bar (think Fuddruckers style). The Nap's deal encompasses a 12oz burger and a regular order of fries (which is very large) and a drink plus refills for only $8. This in California would run an easy $20 at a gourmet burger place and would lack the size, quality and flavor you get here. The burger just oozes with juicy goodness. I kid you not when I say I needed over 10 napkins to polish off this burger. They have other menu choices that I have not had, but people swear by them..for example....cheesesteak, BLT's, chicken sandwiches, rib eye steak platter...and the other thing that so many people rave about..the mandarin orange chicken salad. this place is a fucking joke!! called in an order they said it was going to be 20 minutes come to find out when I get there there's a line out the door only one person at the register the bar line is packed- then we finally cashed out at the bar and she lets us know that our food's going to be 30 to 40 minutes longer- the bathroom was dirty and there was no ice in the beverage Machine -an old man is literally grabbing ice out of the soda well from the bottom. management "angie" here really needs to get a grip. hire staff that can handle the work load - really missing alexx she always made sure everything was taken care of with quick customer service. read more

Ok, I LOVE a good cheeseburger. Nap's grill has my favorite burger, EVER. Not just Hamilton, not just Montana, my favorite burger anywhere. The place is nothing overly fancy. Simple food in a no frills type atmosphere. But the food is great, and portions are huge. I occasionally have to make the 45 min drive to satisfy the craving. read more

Over the years I thought I had been to every place in Hamilton (we visit in the summer). We were told about Nap's this summer by several people and decided to try it. Wow, it was terrific. While the portion sizes are immense (one burger is 24 oz's), it is the quality of the food that is the more notable. In our group, we had a couple of burgers and a couple of salads, both were terrific! I ordered my burger medium, and it was medium. Fries were perfect and the condiment bar was clean, well stocked and well located as to not create any issues getting things after your burgers came. The guy who took our order (might have been the owner) was really nice, funny and made sure we got the right order when it came up. This place is a solid 5 stars; will go back as many times as my waste line will allow for. read more

I waited im line with 1 person in front of me for 15 mins because the girl ringing the other person up kept chit chatting like there wasnt other people waiting to order. Then I waited 30 mins for a kids burger and fries. The burger was decent but charging $2.25 for mushrooms is insane. Pretty dissapointed with the whole experience. Typically when your at work and want to hang out and talk to customers, maybe it would be best to wait until no one is waiting or when you're on break. So in conclusion I spent $10.00 on a kids burger fries and tiny drink ToGo and the whole process took almost an hour, next time I'll go to DQ. read more

So I decided to give Nap's another try. Boy was I disappointed. It has somehow gotten worse than it was before. My burger was filled with gristle, I have never seen anything like it before. There were probably about 10 pieces of gristle that were about 1/4" square. They were so big you could see them with the naked eye. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more
