UPDATE TO RADIO PROBLEM.. Went to another Hyundai dealer for oil change on same car. I told them of my experience with the radio/phone. They looked into it and said radio was the problem. I bought a bumper to bumper warranty from original dealer. I was told it was a Hyundai warranty . This dealer said the radio was covered in the warranty, but Loren/Napleton Hyundai in fact sold me an after market warranty with a Hyundai logo on it,, not a factory one.!! read more

Not sure why I bought a Hyundai, but surely if I went to Napleton 1st, I would haven't made that mistake. Dealing with their service is terrible filled with lies and different cost. When asking how much a tire balancing would be , I was told "depends of the technician and their rate " . I have heard of such BS from a dealer on such a simple ask. When asking about do they rotate every oil change , " only if we need to " ? Why is this included when once again you can pick and choose what you want to do . If I could give lower then 1 star I would. I make an appointment every time and end up waiting a minimum of 90 minutes regardless of the job. Every time I come in they seem to find an issue out of nowhere. When I take it to another mechanic they advise there are no issues. 3 weeks ago I got an oil change and was told I'll need only new brakes. They stated only the pads need to be changed, when I came in today they said everything had to be changed now. The vehicle wasn't used for a 2 week span due to vacation. They will never get my business. They constantly tell me things aren't covered by warranty then back track when they look up my information. Today I was told I will be here no longer the. 2 hours. STAY AWAY! Horrible dealership. This was my 1st time trying Hyundai Glenview for service. I needed a speaker replacement for my Santa Fe which is still under warranty. After waiting for 40+ min at my 1st visit, I was told they needed to order the part. After a few weeks, I arrived for my 2nd visit. I waited 30 minutes before I was told they could not fit me in and to come back. I had scheduled the appointment over the phone a week prior. Why all the wait times just to tell me the work cannot be done?? I wrote a frustrated email to the dealer asking how I can guarantee service during my next visit. They called me back asking when I could arrive to pick up a random 2019 vehicle?? How did they get my complaint confused? I explained my situation and then was promptly put on hold for 10 minutes. We were told that a 2014 Elantra was available to look at. We made an appointment for a Saturday to go look at the car. We even got a confirmation of the appointment and that the car was still available. Drove almost an hour to see the car. The man that confirmed the appointment said let me go get the keys. He handed us of to a different salesman and went back to his office. Came back and said the car is out for detail. The picture on their website clearly shows that the car has already been detailed. I chatted with two separate people last Friday to schedule an appointment to replace the recalled part on my Tucson. I chatted with the first person in the morning who said the recall coordinator would call me back within one hour. 2.5 hours later, nothing. I then contacted the second person and explained the situation. She said she would forward our chat to expedite the process and make sure I got scheduled. I waited the whole day and no call. I brought my car in because out of no where it started to make a noise when I pressed my accelerator. They told me from the beginning that it would be $89 just to test the car, I said fine. Later that day I get a call, and it went roughly like this: "We haven't figured out what is causing the sound, but we did find 4 other issues that we insist that you get that fixed, otherwise we can't in good conscience let you leave in this car. Your breaks are worn, your battery is below the acceptable charge, your spark plug is worn down, and you have to change the oil in your car we don't know why your dashboard didn't notify you. We can do more in depth tests to figure out your sound issue, but we can only do that after we fix these issues and just 3 out of the four things will cost you at least $2k." I tell them no just change the oil then I will deal with the other things separately. They tell me that just the oil change and test would cost me about $210. After they were done and I come in to pay and pick up my car they tell me that the price is $280. I ask why and then they go "well its the test, the oil change but we use a synthetic oil which is better for the environment but costs more, the work done, and the disposal of the oil." Now I'm angry because I am told one price but don't tell me of the extra costs. And when I brought this issue the cashier just said "I am not in the loop of what work is done, if you want to take your car home you will have to pay. You can talk to the manager tomorrow when he's in." When I finally talked to the manager this only thing he said throughout the entire conversation was "I wasn't there" So I like Hyundai, but I hate this dealership. So now I am willing to take the 20 minute drive to the Hyundai in Highland Park...... which in less than 30 minutes knew what was causing the sound so I don't know if the people in Glenview were lazy or incompetent. read more

Horrible Service!! My daughters bought their 2017 Hyundai Tucson here. I should've written about the poor sales experience but didn't. Here I am, writing about the worst service experience. The service was for a 30,000 mi. check and it was horrible. It started with the phone call all the way up to the estimate of costs for this service. The estimate was close to $1000.00 and I was like WHAT??!! It just needs a few minor routine checks like oil & filter change, rotating tires, etc ... These guys tacked on unnecessary things like flushing the engine, tire alignment and their labor costs were sky high. I said NO WAY and had a local mechanic check the vehicle and do the routine service and by the way, Napleton failed to say the brake pads and rotators needed to be replaced. Everything was completed for a fraction of their estimate. I think car sales are slow for them so they're charging outrageous service prices. Look elsewhere. read more

The story continues. The second class action lawsuit concerning this vehicle has come to fruition ,after the catastrophic engine failure pertaining to the first one. The safety restraint system has now failed. Between this and the engine issue, they couldn't have put me in a more life threatening vehicle .The fact that they didn't alert me to these problems ,by either willful neglect, or wanton ignorance, is astounding. My last review was 2.5 years ago, and I'm still loyal to Loren Hyundai, especially their service team. Today, I brought my car in to have the timing belt replaced; the service team quickly notified me that I do not need a new belt as my car has chains. Nonetheless, I had them take a quick look anyway since I was already having an oil change done. Lucky for me they identified a serious problem with my ball joints and suspension rods (see photos). GM Richard Link made sure I knew exactly what the issue was, worked with me on pricing, and made sure my car was ready, and most especially, safe to drive the same day. These guys are dishonest and have lost my future business. I took my car in with an air conditioner issue. They wanted to change me near $600. When I asked if was covered by warranty they said that it wasn't because there was water damage caused by me. I brought it to a mechanic they saw no water damage. It was fixed for about half of what Loren Hyundai wanted to charge me. read more

Well there is a dealer here in Glenview Illinois that has nothing but excuses for why work on your car can't be accomplished correctly, and in a timely manner. One of the sales points for buying my Hyundai Ionic Hybrid at Napelton Hyundai was the offer to wash my car as often as I wanted without further charges. The problem is the amount of time they have the car before anyone even looks at it. Yesterday I asked to get it washed and they informed me to bring it in tomorrow as they were booked solid for wash jobs. So today I went in again and was told go have seat in the waiting area. After waiting an hour and a half I inquired about just how long I would have to wait. They hadn't even started on it yet. So I told them to just give me the car back as I didn't want to waste my whole day in the dealership waiting room for something that should have been done right away. This is not the first time this dealership has taken so long to do something so simple. If they couldn't do it, then why bother making an appointment? And if the dealer can't find employees to get your car maintained, then why bother staying open? Napelton won't fool me again. read more

After getting an email from you to exchange my vehicle, we emailed a few times and correspondence on your end was very timely until I emailed you asking you if you needed to run my credit. Even though I didn't get an answer I trusted that I was not going to be lead into a trap based off the 1st experience with this dealership. I live very far into the city so to get there to be told that you would have to run my credit felt like you were purposeful in not answering my email like you had the previous emails just to get me to come in. I am a business owner and did not have time to come in to be told something I was fully aware of. If had the courtesy from you to be open and honest with me this could and saved my trust with you. I am in a very unique situation and have been going through hurdles since the beginning of the year to save my business. Their service people actually work on commission and make money when they can sell you more than you come in for or really need. You'll notice constant turnover in service department because people are fired if they don't make their quotas. Also, watch out if you buy a used car there. When the car I wanted popped up on a search from TrueCar (a used, 2019 plug-in hybrid Ioniq), I contacted the dealership, which was two hours away. If you're looking for a used plug-in hybrid in the midwest, particularly the Ioniq (which is still under its original warranty), be sure to check them out. Cynthia, Jimmy, and Adam were great, settled things up with me (negotiating the removal of things like their ridiculous $600 "pinstriping" fee). Their prices are fair, but beware, if you're not from Illinois they don't include in the listing price about $500 worth of BS state-specific fees and a $1,000 semi-kinda-but-not-really-reasonable delivery charge. Their prices were fair to good, but the hidden fees seemed deceptive. This was definitely the car I wanted, so I was driving it home, but I wish they were up front about their fees and made the experience less of a hassle. On a positive note, everyone was masked up and maintained pretty good social-distancing throughout. It's neat that there were at least 5 different languages that folks spoke (English, Polish, Spanish, Korean, and...Bulgarian?)- I overheard one Polish-speaking customer say, "You're the first person who has ever pronounced my name right." That always feels good. Do not go there , I bought my second car from them and was the biggest mistake in my life dealing with them. They never helped me with the issue on my new car, they kept my new sonata for almost 2 months to change one part on it. Their cars has mechanical manufacture problems. This place is the epitome of smarmy! Every single salesperson there is nothing less than deceitful. I dealt with Brandon Cooper, who is apparently, the manager of financing. He told me that he got me approved with a bank they have a "close relationship" with that offers a high APR and provides Loren with a kick back. Brandon Cooper, had to leave early the evening he was "helping" me therefore he couldn't take the time when speaking to me to inform me that he was waiting to hear back from other banks and whether they could offer a lower APR. He solely informed me of their close related bank for their own benefit. Since Brandon had to leave early, I was then shifted to Danny, who is the sales manager, and upon being provided my loan agreement I was lied to considering the purchase agreement I was presented from Brandon was about $6,000 less than what Danny had for me. Danny insisted that GAP insurance must be purchased despite the fact Napleton has a disclaimer on their loan agreement that states "YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE GAP INSURANCE." Danny, of course, insisted that I absolutely must take it because that added an additional $1500.00 of money financed, through their preferred lender, which equates to additional money for them in kickbacks. Despite arguing with Danny regarding my option to not accept the GAP insurance he maintained that IT MUST BE PURCAHSED OR THE DEAL WOULD NOT GO THROUGH! In order to appease me and my concern around the disclaimer noted on their own agreement we did sign two agreements; one with the GAP insurance and the other without. Danny insisted it be done this way so that he could confirm with Brandon first thing in the morning that the GAP insurance must be purchased. Rather than attempt to strong arm a customer into something they do not want, why not check with Brandon immediately? I waited to hear back from Danny and Brandon the next day until just after 12PM and then I finally called Brandon to inform him that I was able to get financed through my personal bank. Brandon, at that point, told me he had run my application with them as well, but they were taking a while to get back to him the night before and he had to leave because he works 60 hours a week. Brandon then told me I was approved with them as well when he did his check. Now I ran my credit unnecessarily because Brandon had to go home. I questioned Brandon and requested an explanation as to why I was misled, lied to, and strong armed around my deal. Brandon refused to answer my direct question as to why he lied to me. He made excuses for Danny and then insisted on rushing the process along for completion because he did not want to deal with my inquiries. I called to speak to the "manager", David Choi, about my concerns around what type of dealership he is running and the less than professional people he has working there. David must teach his underlings how to be smarmy because he refused to acknowledge what transpired with his employees and simply wanted to rush along too. Bottom Line: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NAPLETON LOREN HYUNDAI IN GLENVIEW!!! THEY ARE LYING THIEFS!!!! Check out all of there other negative reviews they have......seems to be a theme!!! read more

SCAMMED AT EVERY STEP OF THE PROCESS! 1. Via text, they said they had the make, model, color I was looking for at price I wanted. I show up 40 minutes later, they bring around a car in different color. They didn't say anything (thinking I wouldn't notice different color?!?). When I said something, they said that other one just sold. 2. They said they could get me the one I wanted from another location but quoted me thousands more than they had texted to get me in their dealership 3. We finally negotiated to a price I was willing to pay which included about $800 for accessories that they said the one available already came with. I didn't need these accessories but I agreed to pay because I wanted the car and to be done 4. When I went to pick up the car and finalizing paper work, I noticed the accessories were not on the car. If I didn't notice, they would have let me walk away missing $800 of accessories that they pressured me into buying. They wrote me a receipt for the accessories owed and said I could come any Monday morning 8:30-10:30 when a third-party guy would be there that could apply the accessories (super convenient for someone that works Monday-Friday). 5. After all of the above, when I am leaving with the car, the salesman has the audacity to ask me to give him a 5 star rating!!! 6. The two times I was able to find a Monday I could get there, the accessory guy was conveniently not there. I had to show up to the show room and say I wanted my money back for them to give me an actual appointment for the accessories. UGH! The worst! Have had to take my Elantra back over & over & over & over again for the same blown fuse issue! First time they didn't charge me....but times 2, 3 & 4 they did and different amounts for some reason....for a 5 minute replace a fuse job that they can't seem to find out why the same fuse blows OVER & OVER again! They say everything looks good and sometimes w/in a month BLOWN again. That leaves me w/NO Bluetooth hands free phone, radio, clock temp display, interior lights, power door locks or trunk release! Had to finally reach out to Corporate and the service dept. at Loren got snotty with the guy trying to help me resolve this from Corp! Part of the sales process gets 5 stars. If you are buying a car from them ask for Laquita. She is amazing, friendly, keeps it real, and I would buy another car from her in a heartbeat. The next part that gets 5 stars is Brandon the finance guys who was awesome. He even saved me an extra $1500 that the shady general manager, Jimmy Page, missed. The service folks stayed late two nights in a row to help with sales, you can't get better service than that. Now the reason for the one star. Jimmy the sales manager. Not only did he miss a $1500 credit for my new car purchase, he flat out lied to my face. My friend bought a car the day before I did. She had some questions and just wanted to speak with him. I was at the dealership and she called. He said he spoke with her, she said he was going to call her back. I asked him about it directly again, to give her a call. He said he was with a customer and would call her when he was free. So while, I was doing my purchase, I saw and took a photo of Jimmy outside smoking with a coworker. Guess he had time to call her back and didn't. I talked to her the next day and she still hadn't received a call. I called and emailed the dealership. Jimmy was off, but Brandon and Laquita stepped in and handled it. Turns out everything was great, but Jimmy still lied to my face. For this I would not have bought a car from them. I was also assured he would call me back the next day between 11 to 12. Guess what? No phone call from Jimmy. Long story short, go there when Jimmy isn't there. I rarely visit new car dealers, but we had a situation where we needed to deal with a dealer on a leased car. We wound up at Loren, because that's where the car was originally leased from. We dealt with Bob Archibald, the sales person and David Choi, the General Manager. Due to some family issues, we needed to find a comparable car with a much lower monthly lease payment. Bob, David and the entire Loren team came together and put together a package on a 2017 Hyunday Sonata that simply couldn't be beat. There was no pressure, and open and honest communication across the board. I can't recommend them any higher than 5 stars, or I'd do it. If it was possible to give zero stars I would. My sales rep was fantastic, best I've ever worked with at a dealership. However the management was something different all together. It's not about availability, because dealers cannot control that...it's about following through on commitments. I signed paperwork to make a commitment to do a new lease and exchange my old lease in. They spent 10 days trying to sell my old lease with no updates, they then told me I'd have to sell the car myself then see them. I was out of town and asked for 48 hours to return and do the sale, they agreed. The very next day I got a call that they unlocked my hold and sold the car. I was in complete shock, no communication, no accountability to their commitments. A complete and total waste of time. I understand that customer loyalty means little when it comes to making a sale in that world, but they put me in a bad spot. I had to take a day off of work to start this process all over again, with no idea how long it would take to get a vehicle. Oh and I'm glad that I did. Not only did I find an identical vehicle, the new dealership was able to buy my lease same day and get me off the lot in a new lease at $200 less per month. I was lied too at Napleton and then I see I was getting raked over the coals on the price...shame on me for that, however I will never recommend this dealership, lacking ethics, customer service, and transparency. read more

This review is for the car repair service of Loren Hyundai If I can give a negative star, I would. My mother went to get a simple oil change there. One of the mechanic told her to wait an hour to comeback. So she went to a coffee shop and waited an hour assuming that it would be done. When she got there, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. And what does the mechanic say? Without a SINGLE sorry, he said, "Come back tomorrow because we are too busy with other cars." He says as if his time is more important than my mother's time. My mother has only one day off and who's going to refund her hour doing nothing because the mechanic told her to wait? Would you not get angry in this situation? My mother was angry that she asked for the manager. And that manager, without a SINGLE sorry, just brushed her off. My mother was so frustrated that when she was about to leave, she heard that mechanic saying to the manager, "Is she a trouble?" This is a disgrace and disrespectful. Not sure where to even start on this one. I had a very long trip ahead of me and was in need of an oil change. I get to the dealership, state what I want, and they tell me I'm due for an inspection since I'm about to hit 90K miles. Sounds reasonable, and the pamphlet shows that I will be getting a number of services done. The cost is $350+tax and comes to a little over $400. What was done for the car? An oil change, replacement of oil and engine filters, "brake service", and an inspection of the car. A tune up doesn't cost this much and the amount of work I got done for the car should not exceed over $150. Here's the kicker though. They find I'm in need of new brake pads for the front tires, a new car battery, and new tires. The individual cost they give me are $325, $210, and $1,100 respectively. The person who I'm speaking to goes ahead and stands up tall and grabs a cup of coffee with the biggest grin on his face because he knows he has me. He cuts me a deal while I decide to do my research. Brake pads don't exceed $50 (rotors were not replaced in the service) each, a car battery costs $100 at most, and the tires are ~$200 each. This means I'm paying over $500 in labor, and this is not including the inspection which is also incredibly overpriced. A little icing on the cake: They told me my car would be finished by 2 or 2:30PM, and it's not finished until almost 4PM. I clearly got taken advantage of because I didn't bother to do my research before hand, and that is my fault. What they don't know is they make more money from repeat customers. I was put in touch with this business by Hyundai's website after requesting a quote on a specific car. Cynthia Frausto, Internet Sales Manager, responded via email. Instead of a quote, she requested I call her to schedule an appointment to "test drive [their] great selection of vehicles." I emailed back requesting confirmation that they have the car I wanted. She never responded and also never answered the phone number she supplied when she requested I make an appointment. As far as I can tell, this dealership has no respect for a potential customer's time. It seems my quote request was given the runaround. Strange business to be in when someone can request a quote for a product costing over $20,000 and decide to respond by *NOT* giving a quote or answering if the product is available. read more
