I purchased my Cadillac XT5 from Napleton Cadillac of Northbrook. For some time I have had an issue with the car not starting without a jump. I made a service appt and took the car in on Thurs Apr 17th. I dealt with Greg, he called me the next day Friday and told me that Pep Boys, who had replaced the battery a year earlier had put in the wrong battery. He said they put in a lead acid battery and it requires an AGM battery. I immediately picked up the car and took it to Pep Boys. They installed the correct battery, they showed me, it said AGM along the side. Meantime, I can't imagine Napleton did anything more than lift the hood and incorrectly determine it was the wrong battery. For that I was charged $275 dlrs - again the battery was correct and not the issue. I phoned Greg and told him Napleton was incorrect in claiming it was wrong battery and felt I should be reimbursed the $275 dlrs they charged me for doing nothing. When I attempted to speak with the Service Manager Manny, it went to voice mail and immediately Greg called me back. He said Manny was out but assured me he would call me Monday. It's now late Weds, I haven't heard from Manny. Hard to believe this is how they treat an existing customer. Needless, to say I will not be returning to Napleton and will file a report with the BBB and Northbrook Chamber of Commerce. Scam and rudeness is all I can say about Steve Foley Cadillac. Brought in our 2013 Cadillac XTS for an oil change and no A/C cooling. Oil change was OK, but no A/C cooling was a total scam for $450. Dealership "claimed" in the diagnostic that they injected dye and charged system, and found leaks around crimped connectors in low & high pressure lines. Estimate then said cost of nearly $2000 to replace pressure lines and recharge system and see if everything is now working and cooling. I balked at this estimate and declined further work. When presented with bill, there was only issue something like leak test failed. I asked service agent to provide more information of work performed. Customer Service manger then came over and with no greeting said "how can I help?" After repeating my request, he took invoice with him and apparently annoyed that I had made this request, returned the invoice with more explanation listed above and then asked if there was anything else. I expressed my frustration quite clearly that I was not going to do business with dealership anymore, and his only response like a repeating parrot was "Have a nice day". Took the vehicle to a reputable auto repair shop in downtown Libertyville nearby where I work, explained my situation. For $77 diagnostic fee, they found no evidence of dye being injected into the A/C system and especially around the high & low pressure line crimp connections and no refrigerant in the lineset. For $250 for 1 pound + of the newer 1234yf refrigerant plus $271 labor to recover, evacuate and recharge system with dye test...guess what...no leaks and A/C working good!!! The $450 Cadillac diagnostic was a total scam. The customer service manager was rude. Stay away from non warranty work at Steve Foley Cadillac in Northbrook - you can get far better service and friendly repair shops elsewhere! read more

My partner and I purchased a 2017 ATS back in March of this year. We quickly started having some issues with the radio/navigation screen, which sounds like it was a common issue. I called in on a Friday, Marcelo(?) immediately ordered me a new radio without question and told me he would call me back when it came in. He calls me back on Tuesday, right on schedule and sets up my appointment to replace the radio, oil change, and multi-point inspection. I made the appointment, he tells me he won't be in that day but his guys will take care of everything. We drop it off on a Saturday, and at 2 hours on the dot they call saying my car is ready. Came in the very next day to pick-up the car and make a full payment purchase. It quickly became a $14,000 price tag, even though I had a quote in hand. They wouldn't listen, accept their own documentation, or even discuss anything. Pay this price or do nothing. Extremely hard to work with and speak too. : BE AWARE I took my car there on the 8th after hearing some weird noise from my engine. Obviously without an appointment, no one will wait for an appointment when they hear engine noise with a 9k miles car. They gave me the (do you have an appointment face), obviously not. Not gonna wait for the engine to blow up until the appointment day. They asked to drop it off, I'm like okay. Of course they no loaner and no shuttle over 5miles. (Even tho it's an $82k car) I wait until the next day, no call. I call them, they say there's something broke inside the engine and they need to take the engine apart. I ask how long will that take and what's the latest it will be done. They said by the end of the week, I'm like okay. I call the next day the 10th, what's going on? "We still opening the head of the engine" okay. I call the next day the 11th. Same thing. I call on the 12th "we took the engine apart and something broke and now we have to order some parts. Okay. I call the next day the 13th "some parts are back ordered and we are trying to find another dealership that has them" okay. I call Monday the 15th, what happened? "The parts came missing we have to wait another day" okay I call the next day the 16th "the mechanic that's working on your car has a family emergency and didn't show up today" I call the 17th "we are working on your car, I'm like okay that's it im calling GM now. I called GM, they contacted the dealership, no help. I call on the 18th, "we tried to rush the car and we did something wrong with the timing and now we have to open the whole thing again" I call on the 19th "your car should be done around 3PM" Now I'm happy and decided to stay home, since i live on the North suburbs. I call at 3 and leave a voicemail, nothing I call at 4 and leave a voicemail, nothing I finally got a call at 5PM saying the car is done. I go pick it up, after 2 weeks of waiting. All good. 2 days later the lifters are making noise. Because they are not timed right and need adjustment. Obviously I'm not taking it back there. Btw when i asked why is this taking so long "sir we are running a whole dealership here we can't just work on your car, your car needs 23 hours labor" I left the car there for 240 HOURS!! What a joke! Never going back there again. Unprofessional, unorganized. I could've got the car done in less than 3 days with my mechanic. My overall experience at this dealership was negative, even though they fed us lunch on the day of purchase. My wife and I selected a vehicle to test drive. As it turned out that vehicle was sold fairly fast and so we ended up test driving a 2014 Cadillac CTS listed for $17,995 online. That price quickly changed once negotiations started. The dealership adds $985 for paint protection and $985 for "dealer prep," however they were unable to provide us with any reasonable details of what the costs are for. The final answer was "we just charge everyone that." A side note, it is their common practice to list CPO vehicles online, yet when you arrive they will notify you the certification has not been added to the price yet. They are fully aware of this false marketing scheme, yet continue to function that way. Further, we were interested in the $2,500 CPO warranty. When asked, Ryan told us that this warranty covers everything except maintenance. The dealership was unable to provide us with anything in writing regarding this warranty prior to purchase. Not until week after the purchase, they provided us with a booklet that showed all items excluded from coverage. Never were these items mentioned before. Given the experience from the day before, the next day we decided to bring our own financing to purchase this vehicle. We have confirmed with our financing institution that they work directly with Steve Foley Cadillac. It took Ryan and his partner 5.5 hours to figure out how to process our payment - starting with forcing us to fill out a new credit application, calling our financial institution for step by step instructions on how to use their own system (which was provided on the piece of paper we gave them up front) to providing the wrong mileage reading on the contract and most of the paperwork. After taking possession of the vehicle, we obtained two independent inspections. Both showed several inconsistencies compared to the inspection sheet provided by Steve Foley Cadillac. Another dealership was able to tell us that the vehicle had body repair done with dates after Steve Foley took possession of the vehicle. Steve Foley service department could not confirm any body work was done to the vehicle at all. Finally, I have contacted the dealership numerous times about my well below average customer experience and the numerous discrepancies from CPO warranty to body work that was never disclosed. They asked me to bring the vehicle back for review of my concerns. This visit only confirmed the discrepancies I have found. They requested I bring vehicle again for further review. I am not in the position of being able to drive back and forth to their dealership for them to figure out why things are not adding up on their end. Stay away! You will get tricked into buying a potentially unsafe vehicle and they will not help you out, they will just waste your time. Don't get lured in by the high-end car brands. Buying a vehicle from this dealership is far from a high-end experience. read more

My car was having some noises from the engine and went to my mechanic to check what is going on. He advised me to go the dealer because my car was still under warranty. I left my car there and they didnt give me a loaner, so I had to get a cab. After 1 week I called to check what was going on and they said my car was ready. I went to picked up and they said the car was fine, but was making the same noise. They charged me $200 to do a test - driving the car 13 miles :) They are not supposed to do that because the car was under warranty. I went to another mechanic and he told me that the engine is about to crash. So dont waste you time going there or buying a car from there. I ordered a car 7 months ago with Frank Samortino, I put down my deposit, I acted in good faith and waited patiently as the auto industry works through many delays and back orders. Wow, Arsal body shop manager was amazing. Repair I was able to get a quote sent via email. On a weekend I replied back to go forward. Part had to be ordered and was onsite mid-day Monday. This review solely pertains to the Steve Foley Service Department. Since purchasing a new vehicle for the wifey a few months ago, I have had to bring it back to Foley for two recalls. When I did bring her car in for service, I dealt with "Lee." Lee exudes what I refer to as a cavalier demeanor. In simple terms, he's an arrogant prick! Since it would take all day to correct these recalls, I would need a loaner car. Lee told me that I would have to get a loaner car from Enterprise, which conveniently is on site. So, instead of providing a Cadillac loaner, they make me supply a credit card, sign my life away, and promise to refuel the loaner car. It was becoming apparent that this wasn't the level of service that I would receive at a Lexus dealership. An inconvenience, but whatever, I brushed it off as no biggie, until... Fast forward a few months, and I, along with wifey and our 7 week old newborn, were stranded on the side of the interstate in Arkansas. I pulled out the Cadillac manual, and much to my dismay, there was no card for Roadside Assistance, but only the number for the dealership. I called, and was directed to the Service Department. Once again, it was "Lee" that I was dealing with. Lee, once again, was a pompous prick, and offered no sympathy, no assistance- not even a fake, half assed willingness to help. Lee simply said, (not verbatim) "You need to have it towed to a Cadillac dealership and buy a new tire." OK, well, where is that spare tire that I was told came with the new vehicle. Lee didn't have an answer to this. The end result was- the phone call with Lee at Steve Foley Cadillac did not end on friendly terms. We just purchased two brand new Escalades and wrote a check in full for both cars about three months ago. I damaged one of the cars and brought it in to be repaired 7 weeks ago now. All I've gotten so far is Harvey from the body shop lying and providing run-arounds--blaming the insurance, blaming my wife, blaming me, blaming everyone but themselves. Our insurance has done everything they can to help with this situation, and still no luck. I still do not have the car back. This is getting beyond ridiculous. Bait and switch...UNETHICAL.. Not so good experience!!!!! After driving over an hour to go see and purchase the vehicle my husband and I found online at Steve Foley Cadillac we were very highly disappointed. The vehicle was advertised online for $27k but once we got there after seeing the vehicle and then being presented with their new price the dealer changed the price to almost $30k not including taxes or titling fees, adding some additional ancillary products stating we had to buy them. The salesmen Frank stated that the additional monies added was for paying the mechanic to make the vehicle certified, some sort of paint protectant that we had to buy,a destination fee and some other products they were not an option to purchase. Frank stated to us that they were loosing money and could not remove the additional products. I've purchased vehicles before and have always had the option to buy or decline whatever products I wanted or did not want. I'm also certain a destination fee is usually on the invoice of a new vehicle which is included in the price and shown in the breakdown of the price. When I asked the dealer why didn't they advertised the vehicle at the price the showed instead the price they had it advertised for online and showing a price breakdown and they couldn't give me an explanation. I think it's very dishonest and misleading to advertise a vehicle online at one price and then to get to the dealer and the price be something totally different and be told you have to buy all of these things with it. I'm certain this falls under some sort of unethical practices as well false advertising. I will never go back and advise everyone else to stay away from this dealership unless you're ok with being forced to buy additional products and accepting the price changing from what was advertised. read more

After one too many nightmare encounters with the Grossigner City Service Department, I reached out to Ed who understood the problems I was having, and suggested I work with Marcell. Marcell is fantastic, and he keeps a close eye on what's happening with my car. He's also made a point of making sure the same tech - Kevin K - works on my car every time, which I think makes a lot of sense. Kevin is a careful tech who has done a number of difficult jobs for me. I didn't buy this car at Steve Foley, but Service still treats me with all the respect, courtesy, and professionalism I could ask for. read more

My battery died on my l3 year old srx. I have the on star service and they sent a service guy from Weil cadillac to get me started. He succeeded and told me to run it for 45 minutes, which I did. Drove it to run an errand and when I tried to start it again it was dead. Called on star again and they sent Steve Foley's service tech. He immediately replaced the battery for free. He told me that the batteries of this model were underperforming. The Weil service guy faked to warn me of a potential problem but the Foley tech took care of business. Found a 2005 GMC Envoy Denali (via Auto Trader), and saw on their site. Called dealership one afternoon, confirmed vehicle was in stock and made appointment to come see it that evening. Vehicle was already out front, cleaned and ready to go when I got there. BUT another couple was already in the vehicle, had it running. Dealership handled situation smoothly and still let me take a long test drive down the Edens, came back and I made an offer and not only was it accepted (I offered to pay 'sticker" with competing couple in the mix), but sales manager cut a few hundred off the price. Dealership was slow to get finance processed but I think that's more to customer ahead of us (it was late on a Tuesday night), but dealership is luxurious (they do sell Rolls Royce & Bentley too), and the finance guy was excellent, knowledgeable and got me a great deal. Also worked quickly to get us processed (and I've financed 5 cars, easily best experience), so no issues there. Did I mention this vehicle was a trade in that was meticulous and clean and well taken care of and dealership had a very fair sticker price. Bought a Cadillac CT-6. Good price, but they failed to tell me the car had been in an accident. Then, they washed the car, and it fell off the wash rack...causing about $6,500 in damage. While they accepted full responsibility, they made my insurance pay first...then subrogated the issue; now my insurance company is threatening to raise my insurance. They did fix the car satisfactorily, but the hassle was horrible. I asked that they reduce my lease payments by one (payment) due to 5.5 weeks of hassle without having it. They totally refused; nor did Cadillac do anything to make me happy. Totally unacceptable. read more

Just bought a 2018 Escalade sales person was great everything was good until I got in the car and there was 1/4 tank of gas!!! Shame on them to the buzz kill had to go to the gas station to put gas in it! Not nice also handed the keys no key chain!! It's the little things that make it all so much better!!! read more
