The date he told me to anticipate our awnings should be delivered and one week before, contacted me to say we are on schedule! The awnings were delivered and we set a date for installation. The day before, Kurt Lamothe, the installer, came to look at the awnings and to check out the job site, impressive! Not waiting for 'day of ' - being proactive shows professionalism ~ so appreciated in this day! The installers show up, again, professional and friendly and EARLY! Again, I was impressed because as they're installing, Joe, my sales guy, shows up just to make sure all is going well and that I was satisfied. He even texted me after to say there is a windy storm rolling in so make sure to roll up the awnings as they were just installed. The guys picked up all the wrappings and left not one piece behind. The next day Jose came out to the house and made the assessment that the best thing to do would be to start over (which I was expecting) it was that bad. He took some measurements and gave me a quote on the spot. I called Jose a couple of days later and told him to go ahead. His crew was out the next morning (planning to get the sod in before the rain) and got the job done. They did an excellent job and the price was very reasonable. The removed the old lawn skimmed and leveled to the landscaping and sidewalk. Nicely done. Looking forward to utilize some of the other services they provide.

Not Recommended -- Poor Communication and Unresolved Work…read more When we purchased our new construction home, the builder identified a drainage issue in our backyard. After we moved in, the builder arranged for Green Day Pro Landscaping to address the drainage-related work at the same time we hired them for additional landscaping and sod installation. Our portion of the landscaping project was approximately $11,000, and we paid Green Day Pro Landscaping in full on the day the work was completed. However, the builder did not pay Green Day for the sod portion of the project. Unfortunately, Green Day has allowed the payment dispute with the builder to affect us, even though we fulfilled our financial obligation and paid our invoice in full. We have made numerous calls and sent emails regarding issues with the work that Green Day installed. Appointments have been scheduled, only for them not to show up, and the problems remain unresolved. The situation became even more concerning when the owner decided to show up at our home without an appointment to perform the work. When my husband asked him to leave because there was no scheduled appointment, the owner stated that we did not need to be home for him to complete the work. We strongly disagree with that approach. This is our private property, and any work should be scheduled and coordinated with the homeowners in advance. At this point, Green Day has effectively abandoned its responsibility to correct issues with work that it installed improperly, leaving us to find another company to make the necessary repairs. We paid our portion in full and expected professional communication, scheduled appointments, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. Based on our experience, we do not recommend Green Day Pro Landscaping.

He showed up to evaluate a remodel for our front yard. Jim is very smooth and highly professional and very knowledgeable. He did his evaluation of our front yard on September 6 and said he would get back to us with plans and an estimate in a week or so. After no word for several weeks we reached out to his office and they responded by saying someone would be in contact for a presentation. That was September 22. Still heard nothing back. In Early December, we called back to his office. Didn't get a live person but left a message stating if they were not interested in our project just let us know so we could move on. Well now its January and still no response. I'm sure he does great work because I've seen his projects and completed work. It is high quality and beautiful. I suspect our project wasn't big enough for Jim or wouldn't generate enough revenue for him. And that's ok, but have the decency to get back to us and tell us. This is a quote from their web site: Jim Rose began his landscape experience as a young man working on his parent's patio at the age of 17. Jim realized quickly he had what it took for quality craftsmanship and detailed design. He went on to earn a degree from Eastern Illinois University in Science. During his college years, he continued to do small landscape projects using the skills he learned while working in the industry. His attention to detail and quality workmanship were evident even during those early years. With much prayer and thoughtful encouragement from his family, he chose to try his hand at self-employment in the Green Industry. It makes Jim seem like the all-American guy. But I guess for some reason he chose to never respond back to us. Thankfully, we have choices and I guess we will look for someone else who is interested in us little people. Funny thing, we were actually prepared to spend a lot of money to redo the entire front of our home.

We moved to the suburbs about 3 years ago and I am pretty useless when it comes to anything close to landscaping having spent all my life in big city high rises. We live on the Dupage river now so if there was anything we would have wanted to spend money on, it would have been the back yard but my frequent annoyance with our driveway and my incorrect assumption:) that it would be a smaller project lead us to Jim Rose. We went with Jim even after paying another company $2500 in design fees as in the end it boils down to your comfort level and Jim's confidence, flexibility, creativity and easy going personality won us over. It started with the design and budget. We tried to negotiate into our ball park and in the end we ended up spending 6% over our budget mostly because we changed our mind on something or did not account for certain items such as light fixtures and sprinklers. The job included a complete transformation of our front yard, removal of concrete (an external gut job)new pavers, expansion of driveway, a new custom mailbox, lighting upgrade, sod, a front paver patio, new plants/trees, sprinklers .... The Works. All this cost us a fortune and Jim was honest and upfront that his services are not cheap. Our main surprise was that the personable small business approach underscores how big an operation he is running. JR has most of the workers on payroll so there is very little subcontracting hence getting people to come over to address any of our concerns was painless. Jim was extremely responsive and we interacted via text and phone calls. Our front yard is now the centerpiece of our neighborhood and almost all the neighbors have stopped by completing us on a beautiful job. If you are like us with very few creative ideas-about what you want and looking to put your faith in a reputable company that takes pride in their work then Jim Rose is your guy. I have posted some before and after pics that certainly don't do full justice to this art work given my bad picture taking abilities on my phone. They came once to repair it, never finished, and we've had a partially functioning pergola ever since. As we prepared to sell our home in 2025, we hired them to fix it for the new owners. After two service visits, the pergola went from half working to not working at all. They couldn't locate the wiring they had installed themselves and still billed us for both days. Never have we had a service come to our house, be completely unable to help, bill us, and leave it worse than before. When we asked (multiple times) to speak to Jacob, the owner, he refused to email us back, refused to call us back, refused to come out to fix what his guys left unusable, and said our emails were "less than friendly," even though they were perfectly polite and representative of a frustrated customer. I would be happy to share the emails with any potential customer. Overall, we found the company unreliable, unresponsive, and completely unprofessional. We would not recommend EDG (or Midwest Arbor) to anyone looking for lasting work or dependable customer service.
