I just recently started to bike and on the look out for relatively flat, long bike trails. I'd seen…read morethis trail running parallel to Highway 29 over the years, so did some research and picked my route to start off the new year. Currently you can ride from Napa to Yountville directly with other sections (not yet all connected) up towards Calistoga and down towards Vallejo. The eventual goal is to have it run the full distance. The section I did started in Kennedy Park in Napa. Ample, free parking and restrooms are a great way to start off. The trail is very well signed once you get going and it ran an interesting path through Napa wetlands, along the Napa River, and through a bit of an industrial area with some cool murals, to start. After a little bit you're riding parallel to the Napa Wine train tracks and highway 29. There is definitely a lot of street noise but the trail is very smooth in most spots and a nice ride. As you get closer to Yountville, views of the Valley open up and you're riding through oaks and views of vineyards on either side. There are maps and informational placards along the way as well as a few benches to rest. Once in Yountville, there are restrooms in Veterans Park and it's a nice spot to have a snack and turn around. That portion, round trip ended up being 22 miles. I'm excited for the path to extend from Yountville up to Calistoga. Definitely will be back. Really well kept trail and interesting scenery along the way.

Very fun and pretty. I walked it in a light rain and it was gorgeous. The air is just so clean up…read morehere. Highly recommend.

Can't really hike this from the main road anymore, because they closed the parking area. So you have to drive to the back of the trail which is inside the hiddenbrooke community itself. Edit 6/12/2018: the trail is fairly overgrown and not maintained at this point. The trail is still hikeable, however you will be walking through tall dry grass and weeds for most of the trail. My legs got scratched up a bit. Spotted a snake wondering across the trail this time as well. Snakes are hard to see as the overgrowth obscures them fairly well. The first few hundred yards is cracked dry dirt that makes it easy to roll an ankle. I'm surprised this trail is this overgrown and not maintained given the money that is in that community. The trail is labeled at the trailhead. It is good for biking, horseback riding, and hiking. No dogs are allowed, however you will find nothing but dog shit on the main entryway for a good mile before it stops. The trail runs along some hills with constant incline and declines. However, it isn't all too difficult to hike. Half way through you will pass through a cattle walkway and enter the cow shit zone. There are patties everywhere. And you'll likely wander around some cows, but they scatter at first sight of you. The trail is clear for wearing shorts, however the ground isn't very flat as it is ravaged by cows on a daily basis.

The entrance is located at the base of the tree that is located at the 4-way stop…read more There is no shade on this trail so be sure to put on sunscreen & possibly wear a hat., The trail zig-zags so that there is no steep incline. There are some bushes that veer into the trail but it's not out of control, you can just work your way around it. Beware of dog poop, seems like no one picks up after their dog, EVER. It's a good trail to hike before work just as the sun is rising. It's short enough but still gives you a good cardio workout. I'll be back to finish the hike in it's entirety,

My sister and I decided to rent bikes with Napa Valley Bike Tours, and I am so glad that we did. Mackenzie, Kelly, and the other ladies we met upon arriving to the shop greeted us with so much enthusiasm and kindness! Before we even stepped foot into the shop, our bikes were already conveniently sitting outside the shop, ready to go. Everything is so well organized from the tools they provide (i.e. Storage bag on the bike, water bottle holder, bike map) to the instructions they give. Mackenzie gave us the run-down on which trails and Wineries we might want to visit during our ride which we appreciated greatly. The views and the vibes you get while biking on the scenic trail along Dry Creek Road are so worth it. I would highly recommend booking with NVBT as you will not regret it. Pro tip: For an even better ride, I would recommend adding a gel seat for $5 more if you plan to rent a comfort cruiser, especially if you are 200+ lbs. ;)

The bikes and helmets were clean and in excellent condition. They stored and recharged the bikes overnight which was a nice option. The routes they provided were excellent for optimal riding and helped us to think through the best routes for our needs. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Cameron was especially helpful in getting us set up and going on the first day. We used the bikes to tour wineries and selected the wine and dining spots based on the bike routes they provided. It was an amazing lifetime experience!!
