I think my favorite part about this park is the tall redwood trees and the rose garden. Such a nice touch. The playground itself is nice. There's one for toddlers and another for older kids. The one for big kids was slightly dirty and run down. It also had a lot of spider webs. I also wish the playground had an enclosed gate but there are two huge openings. There's a lot of picnic tables, bbq pits, a bathroom and trash cans around. Plenty of shade for those hot summer days and parking in the residential neighborhood as well. I think they can do a better job at keeping the area clean -- that' was my biggest ick.

All of the picnic tables were great for snack or lunch and the bathrooms were impeccably clean. My husband I also thought the very sweet apology signs about the grass not looking perfect because of the drought were funny since the grass looked mostly perfect to us! Small parking lot at the base but if it's full there's plenty of street parking as well. A couple of picnic tables are also at the base along with a nature museum. Definitely bring water with you as there are no water spouts/fountains on any of the trails. Closed toed shoes are a must as possion ivy is present along with blackberry bushes. Most of the trails provide plentry of shade and pretty foliage. Views of the whole Napa Valley await you at the top (with a couple of benches to take a nice rest). Some days a layer of fog will sit above the valley but that usually burns off by late morning. You'll come across lots of dogs and kids so this place is good for all.

It's a beautiful hike filled with dense forest and streams. It's a fairly easy hike, well kept, with stairs at most of the steep paths, very narrow at spots and a lot of poison oak/Ivy off the sides of the path. Located on the Bartholomew Winery, a private park with hours from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM when the main gate gets locked (big sign). There is plenty of free parking. My friend and I walked the trail around 1:30 PM. on a Wednesday. We only saw one other hiker the whole time, so nice, so peaceful, we had the whole forest to ourselves. LOL there was a warning sign for Mountain Lions, we did not see or hear anything, only the birds and the stream. I would definitely recommend this trail and I would come back to walk it again.

They have two sand volleyball pits, public bathroom, lots of picnic tables, lots of green grass and lots of trees. There's also a trail for hiking and it's dog friendly. We threw down a blanket and took a catnap in the shade under the trees and when my dog got bored, we watched the volleyballers battle it out a ways away. They have a decent sized parking lot available, with additional parking in a smaller lot just up the road closer to the baseball diamond.

They also have a sunset night weekly in the summers, where there is live music, people can bring their leashed dogs unleashed children and picnic set ups (trams will help transport camping chairs etc) and food and beverages (including alcohol). I would totally do this if I lived closer. Beautiful plants, including natives, bee hives that are not harvested but allowed to be wild, so much more.

It would be better if they just charged $5 for parking. We noticed lots of people parking and just going up the hiking path and not paying. I guess we were suckers. Paying is not worth it, but if you dont pay, its a bargain. Its worth a parking fee but not a per person entry fee.
