Is this a dentist office or a day spa? That's how I felt the second I stepped into Napa Valley Dentistry. The service and ambience are stellar. I was immediately greeted by the front desk staff by name and shown around the office. The interiors look brand new and spotless. There's even purple uplighting, which makes for a nice soothing environment. When I got to my chair, the dental assistant offered me a comfy blanket for my appointment because she said the air conditioning was a little chilly. Very nice touch. She even offered me a neck pillow for additional comfort. The dental appointment itself was superb. It was the most thorough and professional initial consultation I've ever had. They didn't just take the usual x rays, they also photographed and examined each tooth and segment of gum line, all while checking in periodically to make sure I was comfortable. They explained every step in the process to keep me informed. They promised the appointment would take one hour and it did. On the dot. Few people look forward to going to the dentist in general, but the staff at Napa Valley Dentistry go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and valued. Five stars! read more

This is solely with respect to BILLING. Beware that they are quite sneaky when it comes to dental insurance coverage. We started coming here back in 2018 and were FULLY covered by Delta Dental. The actual services we received were stellar. HOWEVER in the past year, their policy changed and they asked us to "pay up front" and that we'd be reimbursed by our insurance directly. Low and behold, the reason for the policy shift was that they're no longer "In-Network" with Delta Dental. So, we ended up paying hundreds out of pocket for basic preventative care. I find it quite sneaky and somewhat unethical for them to not come out and explain to their long-standing customers that they no longer fully accept the insurance coverage; instead, we were surprised to have to pay out of pocket for services we'd never had to pay out of pocket for in the past. We've moved on to a different IN-NETWORK dentist, but word to the wise to make sure that you are FULLY covered by your insurance with Newberry's office (or any other office). read more

Very clean and modern office with friendly staff, but unfortunately I can't recommend them based on my experience. Firstly, as far as I know, they aren't in network for any insurance, but they cleverly say they "accept all insurance" and just get reimbursed at the out of network rate and then bill you for the difference. Not a huge deal for cleanings, but if you need work done you'll end up paying hundreds extra to have it done there. I guess I should be grateful for this though as it ended up saving my teeth. They took xrays and told me I had 4 cavities that needed attention. Because they charge more than my insurance covers, I decided to find a different dentist in network. I'm very glad I did, as they new dentist I found retook the X-rays and discovered I don't have cavities that need attention at all! Turns out the original X-rays from Napa Valley Dentistry were taken at an angle, causing an overlap of my teeth on the image making it look like there were cavities there. An honest mistake I guess, but pretty concerning that I almost had 4 teeth drilled unnecessarily! read more

I can't say enough good things about Napa Valley Dentistry! Yesterday I had a crown and a filling and besides being painless, it was quick. I have TMJ and sometimes dental procedures aggravate it. Dr. Newberry was very sensitive to this and gave me rests in between to avoid pain later. Today I am pain free and have a beautiful well fitting crown and filling all completed in one visit. Be careful not to confuse this business with Napa Valley Dental Group. I have dental insurance through Kaiser/Delta and the version they provide is basically worthless. Only a couple dentists in Napa take it and they have mostly atrocious reviews and long waiting periods. Same for Delta dentists outside Napa that require up to a 70 mile round trip. So I did some research to find a local dentist with a good reputation who could get me in right away for an urgent crown replacement. After assuring Napa Valley Dentistry that I knew they don't take my insurance and I was prepared to pay for treatment, they put me on a call list and called me within a couple weeks to let me know something had opened up, and gave me an appointment for the following month. Trust me, that was quick compared to others I contacted. Then came the great part. The office was sparkling clean and completely modern and well equipped with the latest technology. The staff was friendly, helpful and well informed. I agree with the review that praises the ambiance. Dr. Silverman removed my broken crown with mimimal discomfort. An impression was made and a new crown was created in-house on high tech equipment (a first ever experience), all little or no pain. From beginning to end, the best experience with a dentist I've ever had (and I've been around a while). Somewhat expensive? Yes, but well worth it for speed, care, and quality at this level--far superior to any past work I've had that was paid for by insurance. I did receive a review of what they thought I needed next, none of which surprised me. However, it was not presented as a sales pitch like so many I've experienced. I definitely will return as budget permits, knowing I'll be getting the best dental care around. read more

Good grief Charlie Brown! What a fantastic dental practice. My grandfather was a dentist and I am super duper picky about getting a new dentist. Well, I found a stand out group running a terrific practice!! They are warm and friendly, they all work hard to give you a wonderful experience from front desk to Dr. Newberry. My hygienist was obviously well trained and well used to picky people like me. My teeth haven't been this clean since I went to my last favorite dentist over in Livermore. They use all the most up to date equipment and the digital imaging was really really really cool. I've never seen my teeth and roots in HD... totally awesome! I expected the usual pain and suffering you come to expect in Vallejo, but the short road trip North brought me to dental Nirvana!!! As long as I continue to live in the North Bay, I will continue to come here. Thanks for everything, all of you!!! And no, I'm not going to go all Little Shop Of Horrors masochist,..
