This review of Alora Dental is especially for my fellow neurodivergent adults seeking dental care. As many of us know, once we find a place, doctor, or even a favorite coffee shop that works for us, we're not easily persuaded to make a change. Here's what I've found with Dr. Bendi and the entire team at Alora Dental. They're on time. Waiting and uncertainty can throw off an entire day, so this matters more than many people realize. I've even felt comfortable texting the front desk before my appointment to ask if they're running on schedule, and they've always been kind and helpful. The sensory environment is also manageable and predictable. The lighting is bright but not overwhelming, which is to be expected in a dental office. The temperature is usually comfortable, though occasionally a little cool. The office has a neutral smell, and the staff wear little to no overpowering fragrances. Most importantly, I feel known, respected, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Bendi is gentle, thorough, and consistently puts both my overall health and dental health first. I especially appreciate his understanding that many neurodivergent people process information through bottom-up thinking. He takes the time to explain details rather than expecting blind trust, and that makes a tremendous difference. This may only be my second or third public review, but I felt compelled to write it. I made an appointment because I wanted to learn more about biological dentistry, specifically veneers and replacing mercury fillings. When I checked in, I confirmed that I was there for a consultation, and the front desk said yes. After waiting about 20 minutes in the lobby, I was brought into a room and told by an assistant that I was there for a teeth cleaning and X-rays. I explained that I had just had a recent cleaning with my regular dentist and already had X-rays. After waiting again, I was then told they could not do an exam without taking new X-rays. They offered to do them for free, but that felt odd to me since this is supposed to be a more health-conscious form of dentistry, and I didn't want unnecessary X-rays. No one told me ahead of time that I should have my existing X-rays transferred over, which is something I could have easily done before the appointment had I known. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. The staff did not seem clear on the purpose of my appointment, and the communication felt disorganized. The work I was considering is not inexpensive, and as a potential new patient, I would have expected the office to handle a consultation inquiry with more care and professionalism. read more

New to this facility; I had my first visit yesterday, with a cleaning, exam and x-rays. The facility is very clean, organized and well equipped. It is clear that the owners are committed to making the place welcoming and enjoyable. The staff was relaxed and very nice; it is clear that they are treated well. Hayde and Vanessa were especially welcome and efficient. Dr. Bedi was great, mellow and not at all pushy or sales-y plus he has a great background. This is my third dentist office. I saved my self some trouble in advance. During my first visit follow the rule first impressions are everything. I didn't get that warm and fuzzy feeling. While some staff were friendly others appeared pinky turned up. I went there for dentures. The dentist Dr. Bedy asked me why I need new dentures. My upper was cracked in three places and was glued together. The partials metal attachment was broken off REALLY DUDE ‍‍ go figure. They didn't show me any different variations of dentures, or explain what type they would be. They then just sent me back of front to pay. The woman that waited on me I needed a jacket just based on her chilly response. So, I paid a deposit of $100. However, after two weeks prior to my appt I began thinking these ppl want me to pay them an additional $1700 in full the day of my second visit, and that's when they'll be starting. Most practices ask for half if you don't use their payment plans. I went through a nightmare and the worst experience of my life with two different dentists. I'm not about to give Alora all the money up front after their reviews, first impression and them not providing me with the adequate information I think should have been logical during a first visit. This whole experience was a joke. I had a front tooth( lower) that was hanging on by a thread that I need pulled. I had a lower partial that was already made to fit this tooth. I was I the chair for 4 hours while he tried selling implants to everyone who came in. When I finally convinced him I wasn't in the market for implants he pulled the tooth. it was so loose I didn't even need it numb. He charged me 500 for an extract! He put a new tooth in my partial but it didn't fit right. He told me to reschedule. The new tooth fell out by that night. I found another dentists. Funny, I had been seeing a dentist in Sonoma county and mentioned it to his front staff that it seems all Napa dentist charge 20% more just because they are in Napa. She agreed with me and said when they wanted to expand their business they came to Napa precisely because they could charge 15-20% more than their other office. This guy is money hungry and a really bad dentist!!!!! read more

I would not recommend going here, unless you want to get a lot of unnecessary work done and be overcharged for it. I got a cleaning, which was great, by a hygienist (who no longer works here). I was told I needed a filling replaced, so made an appointment for that. I thought the estimate sounded high, but after asking the front desk person, she told me it was because of my insurance. I went ahead and paid. I was also given a treatment plan with an estimate for over $5,000 of work to be done. It included a charge billing to my insurance for a crown, plus a seperate charge for a specific brand name of crown that was double my copay, and many other charges. Some billed to the insurance and some not. Something seemed off about being told I needed so much work done when I haven't even had a cavity in over 15 years. A few days later, I got a statement from my insurance from the filling replacement saying I should've paid less than a quarter of what I was charged. I tried speaking to someone at the office and after three seperate calls, was finally told the extra charge was for something optional that was "recommended". I spoke to a friend who is experienced in the dental field and she said it is abosolutely not necessary or common practice to include in all fillings. I spoke to the dentist about how I felt this was dishonest, and he said it is not usually done for all fillings, but because mine was a removal and replacement for an old filling; which contradicted what the office manager told me, and what was on my "treatment plan" for another regular filling that also included the charge. I explained to the office manager as well how it is dishonest to tell me the copay was high because of my insurance, and later because of something that I could've had removed from the treatment but was not made aware of, even after asking. I've made multiple phone calls talking in circles, been hung up on, they have said they would call back on a certain time or day and they have not. read more

Alora Dentistry bills unethically. They separately bill components of a medical procedure or service that should be billed together under a single code. They bill for appointments that never took place. They try to make you pay for the entire bill when you are only responsible for your co payment. They pressure you to sign papers quickly without time to read them when you are in pain before your procedure. The office staff are extremely rude, disrespectful and mean. read more

Horrible dentist!! I have tried two weeks in a row to get an appointment. I told them I could only do early morning several times. They only text you when there is an issue. The first time I got rescheduled because they didn't have staff then I got a text 40 minutes before my appointment the 2nd time saying they don't have the doctor until 8am. When I said I couldn't do 11 am again, they scheduled me for that anyway didn't say anything but I kept getting their automatic messages. Here are the texts they are horrible!! I have been going to Dr. Mandy for three years this month and I couldn't be happier with that decision. Both of my brothers recommended I got to Alora Dentistry. From my first visit Dr. Mandy listen to my concerns with my dental needs. She preformed an exam on me and we discussed what cavities were top priority and went from there working on all my repairs. She was very knowledgeable about all the work that I needed to have done. We came up with a plan and I worked with her front office staff to make sure we only planned for things that were covered under my insurance. She never actually just had me get a bunch of work done without checking the pricing with me. Or how much I would have to pay out-of-pocket like my previous dentist who put me in thousands of dollars worth of debt. Dr.Mandy is very easy going and personal, she always remembers conversations and we had months previously. She actually cares to ask me how things are going on in my life. When I had a screw implanted in my gums I thought I had a blood blister and didn't want it to burst I was worried. I text some picture to the office text number and Dr. Mandy went out of her way to call me directly. We talked about the possible blister on my gums she asked me to come in that same day. That's the kind of service I always get from Dr. Mandy always. Dr. Mandy's staff is always very friendly and welcoming when I come into the office. The text reminder of appointments is great system I usually receive that reminder 1-2 days prior to my appointment. read more

Worst dentist office I've ever been to. 1) The rooms are noticeably missing typical sterile coverings and drapes on their equipment. The technician was even using the keyboard and mouse (uncovered) in-between placing the x-ray insert in my mouth. I told him about this and he apologized and wiped down the mouse. Usually the offices I visit, all the water and suction tools also have sterile wrap on them that is replaced between each patient, some even do this in front of you so you're sure it's new sterile wraps. 2) After the x-rays I legitimately waited in the room for an hour before the doctor came in. She looked at my teeth for ~1 minute and said my teeth were fine and healthy. She then said she recommends the deep clean for me and that I'd have to schedule it and come back. [BACKGROUND: When I scheduled the appointment as a new customer I told them I want to have my checkup and cleaning on the same day because I have to get a baby sitter for the trip, they said sure and gave me a day that the hygienist would be in the office.] I informed the Dr. that I wanted to just get a standard cleaning today instead of the deep cleaning later. She said "Since I recommended the deep cleaning, I can't give you the standard cleaning". I reminded her that she just informed me my teeth were fine, why do I need some special "deep cleaning"? And I asked what the price difference is. She told me "neither cleaning is covered by insurance so both would be out of pocket" , that she "won't talk finances with me", that she had "other patients and couldn't give [me] a cleaning today". (Shouldn't the hygienist that was supposed to be here be doing my cleaning?). I said, fine, I'll go talk to the office manager about the price difference and consider the deep cleaning. 3) When I got to the front reception, I was handed a quote for $520 out of pocket for the "deep cleaning", and was told to ignore the $0 in the insurance column because "we don't bill insurance, we just give our customers the discount directly. It would normally be about $1500 but since you have insurance, we discount you down to $520". Seeing that as a red flag...I asked "why would you simply discount me $1000 because I have insurance, when you're not going to bill the insurance company for anything?". Normally, they bill the insurance $1500 (for example), insurance pre-agrees to pay $1000, and they bill you the remaining $500 for example. I was told, "it's just how we have it set up here". My GUESS is...most of their patients are "recommended" to get deep cleanings even if they don't need it. And to keep it off the insurance radar (because it would be a red flag to them) they don't bill or notify insurance. Of course when I asked how much a standard cleaning would be, she said $0 because it IS covered by insurance, but since the doctor already recommended a deep cleaning, they could not provide that service to me. I left, with no future appointment schedule. Spent an hour and a half there and only got x-rays and the doctor to look at my teeth for 1 minute. read more

Warning!! Do NOT go there! do worst run office since Sweeney Todd. omg, the money and time I wasted is criminal. Dr Mandy is lovely (if aggressive about money), so when she was on maternity leave and had a nice but unskilled dentist from India filling in for her I trusted him to finish my bridgework. Big mistake. He was a poor reflection on her, and she didn't stand by his work. He did such a lousy job, and for $20k for 2 bridges it should be perfect. I've had headaches and chronic mouth sores ever since. I asked Dr Mandy to replace the misaligned tooth/ bridge? but she refused to do it without charging me another $10k. that was 3 years ago. I kept going to her for cleanings more out of laziness than anything, but this year 2x their office called to confirm a 4pm cleaning appt for my daughter, and when we arrived they were closed! twice! it's amazing. first time it cost me $50 because I had to uber my daughter there. They never called to explain or apologize. I get the sense it's not a great or well paid place to work, because the receptionist turn over is head spinning. worst office ever. There should be a consultancy for medical/ dental professionals to teach a Dr. how to hire/ train/ maintain staff. it starts with integrity, paying people a living wage in expensI've Napa. I'm still really shaken up over my experience with this morning with the pediatrics side of this Dentistry. My daughter's father recently switched insurance plans for our daughter and this was one of the places that took the new insurance. Anyway it started when my 7 year old daughter had her first appointment a couple of weeks ago for a cleaning and x-rays. The staff was absolutely wonderful and so good with my daughter. It was an unusually long wait to see the dentist (about 45 minutes or so) anyway when she came in she told me my daughter had cavities on her molars and was asking me who takes care of her and basically accusing her father and I of not taking care of her and feeding her junk food all day. This is absolutely not the case, she barely eats junk food the worst is goldfish crackers for snacks, she never even drinks juice only water. And she brushes her teeth every day and uses a fluoride rinse as well. Granted we hadn't taken her to the dentist since covid started but her previous dentist office was closed for a long time. Anyway I didn't take it personally and went to make the appointment for her fillings. The gave me a plan with over $1200 extra charges that her insurance won't cover- $150 for nitrous gas and $150 desensitizer per filling. I told them that we didn't want the nitrous gas as we have a family history of having bad reactions to it. I went home and talked to my friend who is a dental hygienist and also looked up the desensitizer online and it's supposedly for when you have root canals and very deep procedures so basically unnecessary for a filling. Also my daughter's previous dentist never used either of those on her when she had 2 fillings in the past. Anyway fast forward to her first appointment for fillings this morning, we were again greeted by the very friendly staff and I told them we were going to skip the nitrous and the desensitizer, no big deal they just had me sign a form and everything seemed fine. Once we were all set in the room the dentist came in and started the process of 3 fillings. I think it started to go bad as soon as my daughter was getting the numbing shots in her gums- my daughter was acting like it hurt and I said "don't worry this is the worst part it's just a little pinch and it goes away" the dentist then looks at me and says "it doesn't hurt it doesn't pinch it's just pressure I didn't say anything but I was thinking I've been to the dentist before and I know it can sting a little but I didn't want to offend her so I just went along with what she was saying. She had horrible bedside manner with my daughter and wasn't really trying to keep her calm but more making jabs saying she wasn't cooperating they tried to put this big thing in her mouth to keep it open but it hurt her. They ended up using a smaller piece and that seemed to help. She kept bringing up the nitrous which I repeatedly told her I was concerned about reactions. She also pushed the sensitizer and I asked if she could educate me on the benefits of using it etc. which she didn't seem like she really knew and just said it was a deep cavity and could get sensitive. We gave in and let her do the desensitizer on the one deep cavity. She got impatient with my daughter several times because she kept saying the drill or the suction was hurting her and brought up the nitrous one more time and I had had enough and said "I understand it's easier for you to give her nitrous but I don't want my daughter to die or anything" anyway she got extremely offended, stopped working on my daughter's teeth, and started arguing with me right there saying we needed to step outside! I said can we please just finish with her teeth and I would find a different dentist and she said "don't tell me what to do this is my dentistry and you're the rude one and even my staff noticed" (I seriously was nothing but friendly to the whole staff and her so that was mind boggling to me) at this point I'm terrified she is going to hurt my child or leave her unfinished with holes drilled in her mouth so I tried to calm the situation down as much as possible and asked if we could please not argue in front of my already traumatized daughter. I kept quiet and she kept bringing it up saying she wanted to talk to me afterwards. I had her dad come down to help just in case since I didn't know what was going to happen. I recorded the conversation afterwards I'm case she tried to assault me in any way! Seriously terrible level of professionalism. Looking for a new dentist now. read more

I went to Alora Dentistry in July for a new patient visit and to schedule a cleaning. When the dentist Dr. Kaur examined me, she spent approximately a total of 3 minutes with me. She asked me of any dental complaints I had to which I replied sensitivity. She took a dental tool, the hook, and proceeded to scratch at the area I pointed to and then then a second area in my molars. This was the full extent of her exam. No x-rays or gum measurements with a periodontal probe were taken. Upon leaving the dentist I was given a dental recommendation of a deep cleaning costing $900.00. I opted for a regular cleaning that my insurance covers in full and made an appointment. A day before my scheduled appointment I was called and told that my cleaning was canceled because the dentist wanted me to have a deep cleaning. I argued against this as how can a medical professional make the most invasive determination without having actually examined my teeth? Later, I called Delta Dental to go over the proposed invoice. On the invoice there were four $100 charges for Gingival Irrigation. The Delta Dental representative informed me that with my insurance I do not pay Gingival irrigation. This now means the dental office is attempting to over charge me by $400.00! My final complaint is that the dentist ordered "Periodontal scaling 4 or more teeth" for all 4 parts of my mouth. Without gum measurements or x-rays how can she adequately be sure that every tooth needed to be deep cleaned? "Periodontal scaling 3 or less" is also available and is $25 cheaper for patients who do not need an entire quadrant cleaned. In summation, Dr. Kaur did not do a full exam of my teeth and yet assumed I need a deep cleaning to the fullest and most expensive extent available and even tried to overcharge me by $400.00. On the up side, the staff was pretty nice. read more

I've been going to Alora Dentistry for almost a year now and I cannot recommend them enough! Dr. Mandy is absolutely incredible at what she does. She is so nice and welcoming, she makes you feel exceptionally comfortable. She is very gentle and makes sure you're okay during any tooth procedure. Terrible service, makes appointments then doesn't have the parts to do the service it's supposed to do. Not once but many times.

I had a similar experience as another reviewer, office is very disorganized, different people called and texted me 4 times the day before the appointment to ask if I could come in earlier even though I answered them every time saying I could not. Hygienist took me in 10 minutes before appointment and before I filled out new patient paperwork, so she had no information about me. She left before completing the cleaning saying she'd be back to finish cleaning and polish teeth. I explained to the dentist what the hygienist said about coming back and dentist said "you're finished, I'm the dentist and you don't need polishing or more cleaning." I have never had a cleaning without polishing, or had that kind of response from a dentist. read more

I scheduled a cleaning for my daughter at this place only to have them cancel on me. Then, like a dumb ass, I decided to come back myself for a deep clean, and as I walked through the door the lady tells me she can only do half of my mouth today And I would have to come back another day for the other half. This is ridiculous as I have always had my full mouth done from every other dentist. Then she tells me there's not enough time to do my mouth because it's after 4 PM. On top of that, the front desk lady was rude and was complaining because I was a few minutes late to my appointment. I was late because I was waiting out front for them to come out and get me (covid rules) after she put me on hold for 15 minutes on the phone I finally hung up and just went inside. Wonderful practice! Dr. Sinada and Dr. Mandy are the BEST! My first visit immediately felt welcoming with humble and kind customer service. Dr. Sinada is a wonderful Pediatric Dentist, made our children feel comfortable and fearless towards visiting the dentist. Not to mention the attentiveness I received from Dr. Mandy. I've routinely gone to several other practices, but I plan to return to this one from now on. I didn't get my hygienists name, but she was kind, patient, and thorough. Went in for a consultation and was laughing at the two dental assistants trying to figure out the piano machine. One was telling the other one that she had to push a button. Then handed her colleague the vest she should have put on my child pre X-ray. Pretty scary they couldn't run a standard X-ray machine and bickered the entire time. After 5 tries of it not working my child who was already tired and hungry so I took her down off the stool. What was odd was the dentist had to tell them they would need a stool for my daughter to reach the pano machine and where to find it. You think they would know that. After discussing the experience with my dentist they were happy I left since they have to fix a lot of work from that office. read more
