There is a good reason why this practice only has a 3.1 rating! Veneers are supposed to last on average for 15 years. I had one come off in less than a year. Dr. Azizi originally assured me that she stands behind her work, but only fixed the veneer when I asked for my dental records to be transferred to my new dentist. This review is being posted again since it was taken down. Getting one star because zero isn't a option. I took my special needs Daughter to Vineyard dental. When I say special needs, my Daughter is extremely intelligent but suffers from severe OCD. I guess I made the mistake by telling the booking staff of her condition. We didn't pick Dr. Azizi we picked another doctor. We were called into the interview room, to see if we would be accepted into the practice. What a joke! The Doctor was more interested in what I was wearing and my Ex husband's relationship with me and our daughter's OCD than her teeth. Nothing like making a child that has a condition feel more awkward than questioning her. Dr Azizi made sure she told us, that she wasn't sure that they would accept my Daughter once again, so I guess my daughter had to pass the test of being examined and having x-rays. I was there, she had no problem. I forgot my daughter told the doctor she sometimes gagged. That's all the ammunition the doctor needed. We were told that her staff wasn't equipped to deal with patients that had gagging issues or needed a break doing a procedure. Our Daughter needed a couple of teeth extracted, she said she couldn't do it because my Daughter needed to be put to sleep, because her tongue was to strong. Also that my Daughter would need to go to a sleep dentistry practice, because no one could take care of her unless she was put to sleep. The sleep dentistry practice is in San Francisco, I had told her before, I was disabled and couldn't drive there. She told me to get uber! So sleep dentistry and Uber? Not all of us have the financial flexibility to do that. The work that we were told had to be done was not justified. We were dismissed, as if we were rejected for not measuring up to their standards. Of course with a bill for the x-rays they had no problem taking. I kept quiet because I didn't want to upset my Daughter. I went home and called Clinic Ole, they got her in right away. She has had a tooth pulled, 2 fillings, x-rays and no problems at all. No big tongue syndrome lol. She is amazing getting worked on. This is a money making factory not a dentist office. I would rather have all my teeth fall out, before I would ever step foot in there. Just because you are on the cover of a small town magazine, doesn't make you reputable. Stop believing your own hype. read more

Don't give this practice your time. There is a total disconnect between the front and back office resulting in multiple errors, mis-steps and drama. They mis- scheduled me resulting in multiple trips, humiliated me in the waiting room in ear shot of other customers and staff members and then fired me for complaining causing further inconvenience in having to find another dentist. At first I was quite charmed by the atmosphere and the lead dentist, Nancy totally pressed me for a good review as soon as I complimented her on the office, are you a Google reviewer or a yelp reviewer? She asked more about my online reviewing habits than my actual chart/medical history. I scheduled my child and I for cleanings etc and when we were done I was informed that they had done an exam but not cleaned my daughters teeth, they were too busy. Her subsequent appointment was rebooked twice. I came back on another visit and got the distinct impression that the dentist: Dr. Jung didn't want to be there. I have to wear earphones to disassociate from the drilling and the fact that I sometimes couldn't hear her direction seemed to really annoy her, she frequently sighed and sent her eyes towards the heavens. I went to pay out in the front office I was told I needed to schedule another cleaning in two months. Everyone knows it's a 6 month gap between cleanings so I asked why in 2 months and was told that "until your home hygiene improves we have to do more cleanings." And then several people waiting there in the front to pay or make appointments all looked at me like I never brush my teeth and I was really hoping to suddenly become invisible. You know those record screeches that come on when a character in a TV shows says something super awkward and everything just - like -stops and everyone in the room near and far looks at them? Yep, just like that. Now just to give you context, dear reader, I am a colon cancer patient who has been answering a nurse's questions about my bowel movements in front of other chemo patients also getting infusions within earshot for about 5 years now. I don't embarrass easily. I phoned them the next day, discreetly complaining by telephone later so as not to embarrass them like they'd embarrassed me. It's on my chart and an aspect of all my care that I'm in aggressive chemo, I haven't had a cleaning in over 2 years because I was specifically advised not to and actually needed a doctor's note to book a cleaning. Like- it's super duper clear. How do you have such a carefully designed atmosphere and then treat people so carelessly? So, after I complained, they wrote me a letter and fired me which really floored me. Then I got another letter: they forgot to charge me for the $140 cleaning for my daughter they rescheduled twice. I followed up with them first by letter then by telephone explaining that if you forget to schedule enough time then forget to charge then embarrass someone in front of a group of strangers and then fire them, and then repeatedly hound them for the $140 they forgot to charge, the client might not want to pay it because they've been repeatedly inconvenienced and then treated poorly, can you see; I asked Rosa the billing manager after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, why a customer might not want to pay after all that? It's not a large sum of money, about 2% of my total bill, who makes those decisions? Rosa said she does. OK, well, can you understand why I wouldn't want to pay that? I was told the bill would go to collections. I told them if they were going to hold my credit score hostage then I'd like to speak to the dentist or I would just pay the money and write a bad review which I'd thought of doing but did not want to waste even more time. I was then called by the lead dentist Nancy who said she thought I was "classy" and why would I "intimidate and extort them" in order to not pay a bill. So between the front office and the back office something got totally blown out of proportion again: Intimidate and extort? It's a customer service issue I wrote a letter and then called twice to resolve. Nancy phoned up and my character was questioned: like it's not personal, it's a bill and I'm unsatisfied, why question my character? I wanted to explain that I was not paying because I was inconvenienced multiple times. In any business---large or small---when you inconvenience the customer it's fairly standard to have to take a small hit to your delivery fee or restaurant check or commission or service fee, because you did not deliver the service as promised---plain and simple. I wasn't sure why I then had to be pathological in some respect not to pay it. A lot of drama in this office. Stay away. read more

They are all so professional, warm and it really does seem like going to a spa. You can get a facial while you are in the chair and listen to relaxing music. I had an uncomfortable experience with Azizi!! She feels a personal finance is more important than personal health care. Took full mouth xrays and first told me I didn't have any cavities. Then she changed her mind and said I had a big one. She told me I needed to have 5 teeth extracted!! She misdiagnosed my entire mouth. I left the office and immediately asked around. I was referred to a dentist downtown. Took the xrays to show him for a second opinion. He properly diagnosed what was going on. Said I just needed ONE tooth extracted!!! He referred me to a dentist who extracts and had called them by the time I went to see this THIRD dentist for an opinion. He agreed with the second opinion, that I just need one tooth extracted. Very nice staff...they best in the business. .....but I was told I needed a root canal for a tooth that didn't need one (after months of complaining and trying to figure out the problem) so I finally decided to go to another dentist and he said I would definitely not do a root canal on that tooth. Saved me a bunch and saved my insurance a bunch. I actually really liked her office but to have me do extra when it is unnecessary is scary. Most importantly, when it's time for the dental work to start, Dr Azizi assesses your situation, discusses options and displays all the details on the computer screen - showing you the teeth in question and explaining exactly what is going on. Dr Azizi explains every step, what to expect and gives you helpful ways to remain calm. If you prefer not to know what is happening, they offer music and entertainment to distract you from the anxiety that comes from having a drill in your mouth. She stands by her work and refers anything outside her core competency to other specialists whom she trusts to give you the same level of care. 'Dental Spa' ...what an Oxymoron ....since going here I've gone down a 'dental path' to hell... I had to have a crown replaced and Azizi's Associate...Dr. Steiner was trying the permanent new crown on and couldn't get it off...he was tugging at my tooth so much that I was ready to jump out of the chair...he finally got it off and cemented it on. The next day I had the worst pain, I called, went in and he ground the crown down thinking it was too high. Went home and that evening had horrible pain again...I called the next day and was supposed to see Azizi. She was rude, curt and very cold, she mentioned I might have to see her Endodontist. She told me this Associate would not be in until the following week! Anyone that has needed a Root Canal knows what horrendous pain you are in, I was stunned and in so much pain I could barely think. When I got home I gathered myself together and called my Endodontist in Lafayette...they were so kind and thoughtful and I was able to get in the next morning. Long story short...I ended up needing 2 Root Canals on the teeth that were on each side of the one that Dr. had yanked on. Azizi's office wanted to see me after the root canals and I told them I NEVER wanted to see that woman again. read more

I had a great first experience at Vineyard Dental. Upon entering the office, the waiting room is clean and inviting, and the ladies at the front desk were very friendly! Dr. Azizi came in and introduced herself to me personally, which I did not expect. Since it was my first visit, I got x-rays and had an initial exam but did not expect a cleaning, but they made an effort to fit me in for my cleaning that day, which was perfect! Dr. Azizi started my cleaning until a hygienist finished with another patient, since their schedule seemed pretty booked that day. I got my x-rays, cleaning, AND a mini-facial and left feeling refreshed! The ONLY complaint I had was with a second set of x-rays, which Dr. Azizi said I didn't need because my teeth are in great shape, but they did the anyways after my cleaning. Not sure if it was miscommunication, but I didn't mind since my insurance covered it anyways! Better safe than sorry! I will be back in a few weeks to get a minor chipped tooth filled, and I look forward to it! I've been going to Dr Azizi for many years now. Each time she is wonderfully professional, gentle, proficient yet has a great bit of empathy and compassion. She has a superb memory for individual details of her patients, including asking about family members. One time I was in the chair and broke down (quite unexpectedly) because I was in the midst of (and taking care of) a loved one's difficult terminal journey. Although I was tremendously embarrassed, she made it ok, and took the time to sit with me and talk, and never gave me the impression she was needing to move on with my treatment. Dr. Azizi went out of her way to discuss an array of topics with me, including a personalized explanation of how the billing and insurance system works. Where else does your doctor/dentist take that kind of time with you?? You can expect some level of "upselling" at a cosmetic dentist office - but I didn't feel pressured to do more than I needed to for my basic dental health. Should I want to go back for something more cosmetic I feel confident this would be a trustworthy place to do it. The office environment is the nicest dentist office I've ever been to and Dr. Azizi is genuinely committed to the health AND satisfaction of her customers.
